Age for first mammogram??

When do you normally get your first?

Unless you have an issue I didn't think women needed them until 45 or older.

I've heard time and time again that it's age 40.

I have also heard that some should maybe get it during their late 20s or so, especially if there's a history of breast cancer in the family. There's a history of breast cancer in my family, but I don't know... I probably wouldn't get the mammogram anyway until I'm at least 40.

I think 40 also, unless you're having problems. You may want to ask your ob-gyn or primary doctor.

I think 40, but it changes. Do self checks frequently though and if you go for a physical, they'll do a quick breast exam with hands. Yeah not exciting fun stuff, but it's nice to know you're healthy.

It is 40, but I didn't get it done until 45. I hate going to the doctor, but decided one year to start taking better care of myself. I had a high school friend die of cancer.

You don't get offered until age 50 here, unless you happen to have a family history of breast cancer.
