    Meditation as Therapy?

    Has anyone else found that meditation helps you cope with day-to-day struggles?

    What kinds of meditation have you tried ?

    Not technically meditation, but it helps.

    I'm not 100% sure how it works to be honest. Most of the time I just search "mindfulness" ob Spotify and listen to stuff on there.

    Mindfulness for me as well. Also before I start meditating I tense up all my muscle groups one at a time and then relax them.

    I try to just stop and listen to the world around me. If my thoughts get too much I try to listen to the current sounds the here and now. Kind of mindfulness

    Started doing some meditation with my therapist during our sessions. It's helpful for calming down. Helped me a lot Thursday as it after I explained what I'd done to end up in ER a few years back. I never like talking about that or really thinking about. I feel ashamed, depressed, embarrassed and vulnerable when I admit what happened.

    Meditation helped me feel a bit better after going through it all.

    In the mental hospital they did meditation such as tai chi and yoga it was very relaxing honestly and helped.

    Meditation has become one of the most important ingredients of my day. It helps with my day-to-day struggles in the sense that it helps me identify more with the ocean and less with the waves. Less with the doer, more with the be-er or observer. It reminds me nothing is wrong with right now, unless I resist what is. It's a dose of suchness.

    I play around with forms of meditation. Both formal and informal. I've done the MBSR course and listen to a whole bunch of related podcasts and such, which sometimes lead to the discovery of guided meditations. Vipassana, metta, non-dual. I dig it all, but I seem to vibe more with the latter.

    I jumpstart the whole thing by listening to some non-dual stuff first thing in the morning, when I'm still waking up. I've noticed that consistently bypassing old conditioning this way pays off over the long run. Plus it sets the tone for the day, which is a big deal. There are four formal meditations in my day, which means my mind gets little room in between to get stuck in old and unhelpful grooves.

    I'll leave it at that for now.
