Neither of those two. It just came along out of nowhere, but I haven't had it all of my life.

Started when I was 12/13. Can't think of a reason, or pinpoint something that started it. Has been up and down since then, better at some times to the point I think it's gone, worse at other times.

I've always had both, plus depression. I remember being depressed and anxious as a little kid. I didn't know it was anxiety. Back then (the 1970s) anxiety wasn't really diagnosed. I remember thinking I was crazy, I remember thinking I was just different and I didn't know why.

I think the two events that had the biggest impact on my anxiety and depression were the child abuse from my mother and the suicide I witnessed from a loved one five years ago. I think I was actually making some progress through therapy and meds. Her suicide changed all that, probably forever.
You're going to lose people in your life, and realize that no matter how much time you spent with them or how often you told them you loved them, it will never seem like it was enough.

    Hug the ones you love.

Life events. Or simply one event that I should have got help for there and then, but didn't. Thus it came back to bite me hard a few years later. Have had it ever since. First 20 years I was fine.

I dont deal with anxiety at all. there is one exception though, sometimes even I can experience such during extremely stressful events, but i guess that is normal...?

It was sporadic at best until January 28, 1989. From then until about 2002, it was chronic, periodic, and I would expect one night a month when I wouldn't get to bed until late.

From 2002 to 2003, it was non-existent, and then POW - almost to non-functional status in 2004.

I think it has a lot to do with life events. Personal & being bullied.

My hypochondriac anxiety started at 12. I have always had panic attacks/ anxiety though, since birth I have been very overwhelmed easily by things. Literally my parents had to come to the NICU and lay me on their bare chest to bring down my vitals, I was stressed and overwhelmed as a 3 month preemie. I have Sensory Processing Disorder and I get very overwhelmed very easily/ not enough noise also freaks me out and puts me in a panic attack. Life events made my anxiety and sensory processing disorder worse though.

yes. I don't recall when I didn't have social anxiety even at age 3.
