How do you handle being alone in the house?

I'm fine with daytime aloneness and sorting through being home alone during AM hours, but not for several days straight. Today my partner leaves for 3 days, for a work trip and, I am.... freaking out. What do you do to handle night time anxiety and being home alone?

    Hi Total Eclipse,
While I don’t have this particular anxiety, I imagine if I did I would call a friend and settle in for a chat with my friend, I would have a book that I enjoy reading, a few of my shows to binge watch, and of course, my dog. Our pets are wonderful as they keep us grounded and for me, when I walk my dog it’s always always always a great stress reliever.
And clonazapan, an anti anxiety med that I take if needed.

Write him a good old fashioned love letter. Have it waiting for him when he returns. The last of the old romantics here. Even made a CD of songs just for him. You can plan it all out. Then on his return he will be one happy man.

I enjoy having the house to myself. I feel free to do whatever, watch whatever TV show I want, or just have silence and relax. I probably enjoy it too much. If I'm anxious, I try to distract myself with TV, YouTube or a podcast. Or go for a drive.

I don?t....handle it well from a young age I suffered separation anxiety from around 4 to 10 I was unable to use the bathroom alone play in my room by myself I couldn?t sleep alone I couldn?t play video games in a room alone the dark was petrifying doctors were unaware kept saying she will outgrow it over time by 11 I was more independent. As a adult I mask my anxiety of separation I?m pretty sure a lot of my family and friends catch on I can?t be alone at my apartment for more then a day by my self. I can?t not be without a Social setting for a few hours even during the day I mean I clean and watch tv and sleep then I?m freaking out I rely on other humans around me. So I typically up and leave my apartment until I have someone there with me.

I usually leave the tv on or keep Spotify open a jazz or Christian playlist if I’m feeling anxious

I read this one too early in the morning. Watch movies and play with my drugs. Then I read it again and saw the word dogs.

What is dirty about that? All I said was drugs. My brother got into drugs at a young age. Should see what it done to him. New car at 18, new house by 20, speed boat by 25. LOL
