    Can't say [BEEP] now !!!!!

    You couldn't make this stuff up. In the UK mid-wives were told not to use the word [BEEP] so as not to offend tran's patients. Can it get any more silly?

    Just changed the swear word option. Not that I would even consider [BEEP] a swear word. I mean would you call someone a vigina? By way of swearing at them?

    Great, so now us men have periods too. I wonder if men could use that as an excuse in work to get a few minutes here and there, or would they be laughed at? Imagine a male worker coming up and saying to you ' I need a few minutes. It's my time of the month '.

    Is all getting bleeden silly.

    This started more than a year ago so its interesting that its regaining momentum in the media now.

    From what I can tell words like VAAAGINA! are not being censored or banned... but it makes for more entertaining news when it's sensationalised like that. And it's a good means to a call to arms for conservative crusaders.
    As far as I can tell, it's one hospital who have a gender inclusion team (probably the only one in the whole world) and they are suggesting some alternative words that can be used in order to be more inclusive.

    There was a media backlash previously and their official statement was ... "Our approach has been carefully considered to be inclusive of trans and non-binary birthing people without excluding the language of women or motherhood." I believe they suggest a midwife ask a patient their preferred pronouns and nomenclature for their private "bits".. no big deal in my opinion. I tell my doctor I prefer him to call my penis Mr Tallywhackle so who am I to judge another.

    I seriously think it just made me laugh. Especially the part were it mentioned the other word option to use instead of vagina. Front hole. No idea why, but I think [BEEP] sounds a whole better than front hole. I know it is just part of a job that some people will have to do. So it certainly won't effect my life. But it will be up for discussion on Irish radio, probably tonight. Should be funny to listen to.

    @Cuchculan
    Yeah I definitely think we could come up some slightly more creative alternatives to "front hole"
    Although I think the Scots already have it pretty much covered...

    @Shredder we use all the same words here in Ireland. Similar culture to Scotland. Anything but front hole.

    I agree with what @Shredder said. Daily Mail whipping up drama out of nothing, their usual mo.

    Personally, I prefer '[BEEP]'.

    I'm just surprised they haven't declared it causes cancer.

    Also, is it just me or does this stuff always seem to be confidently timed to hit the news when they need a distraction from partygate/Sunaks taxes/other entirely avoidable and could have been avoided had we behaved scandal.

    Love that list : ) And nope, it's not just you. Idk how much of it is deliberate diversion and how much just hunting for clicks but it is terribly convenient.
