    What Class?

What economic class do you come from, and what economic class are you now?

Actually what would be more accurate for me is Dirt poor to middle class. I was working class as a kid, dirt poor as a young adult and am now 44 and middle class.

I would consider myself borderline between middle class and lower middle class.

I don't know what I am. My family was bordering between upper middle class and wealthy when I grew up, but my mom hasn't been able to get a job in awhile and, despite owning a nice house (that, thanks to the housing market, we can't sell), I think the family probably just barely qualifies for middle class at this point. And then there's me, dirt poor and having to live at home because I don't have the money necessary for any other setup.

That was me too. We lived in the poorest part of town and often went hungry. My parents were often out of work because my dad couldn't read. I worked 3 jobs to get through undergraduate college though and moved up with 2 masters degrees. Somehow, I knew that school was my ticket off the streets.
