God bless System restore on Windows

So I took an old laptop, and installed a new version of Window 7 Professional on it last night. I tried Ubuntu, and hated it, so I went back to Windows.

I start installing programs, and then I have a conflict with a necessary program I need for class. So I uninstall a bunch of things that say Microsoft, and then the installation won't even run!

So I go back to 6pm tonight, do a system restore, and voila! All the files are back, even the program I deleted is back, and I'm able to fix the error and am now installing the program.

God bless Windows 7/8 system restore!

^ Amen to that! I've had to use that function a few times on my old computer to recover from Trojans.

I just realized said laptop is from 2008/2009...not so old after all.

But the screen is busted, and I am using it as a second desktop. So far, so good. Hard drive has been thoroughly tested, and seems fine.
