How much should I spend on my first guitar?

I have three guitars in mind and they range from $90 to $100 just for the guitar. One of the guitars is usually $180 but on sale for $90. On this website for a local guitar shop, all three have really good ratings and reviews.

Acoustic or electric? You will be going to test them out before buying, right? I would say go for whatever feels comfortable. If you buy a not-so-good one right now, you're probably going to end up upgrading to one that suits you better. So you might as well go for the good stuff, one that you can imagine yourself playing in the future.

Acoustic most likely. I'll definitely try to see how they play before buying.

^ Yep acoustic is great. Go with what makes you feel comfortable. It's so much fun picking out a guitar - hope you enjoy it! And ask the people for help if you have questions - I know that's hard with SA but it's totally worth it when you bring it home and know you've made a good choice.

Toaster, you should probably get an acoustic because they are more portable than electric.

And also you should go out and touch them, strum them, and get the one that wants to come home with you, just like a pound puppy adoption.
