    Lying about my weekend

I told my coworkers that I was going hiking this weekend, but I skipped out on my plans. ad: Now I'm going have to make up a story like I've done before to make up for my lack of social life. I even did some research on the weather and looked at pics to make it sound more convincing. Pretty pathetic right?

Yes. Just tell them you changed your mind because you got lazy or whatever the reason is. It's not uncommon nor embarrassing to have a change of plans.

But I never have any plans... and when I do, I don't fulfill them.

You don't have to lie about it though. You can just tell them you decided not to go and then give a reason why.

Exactly. I do not believe it's good to lie about it. Sometimes plans fall through and just tell them you decided not to go. No need to be ashamed of it

I lie to get out of social events, ALL the time..... I guess I also lie in the sense that I usually put on an act, I perform every single day and I know that people think I’m cheery and happy all the time (which is a huge lie).

However, I think I’m a pretty honest person. I would never intentionally hurt someone.... or lie to my partner etc.

If I can find a way to get out of social events, I do it. I am surprised anyone even asks me, although I am not asked very often. :/

I did this often during the summer when I was working full time :/

... It just sounds more interesting then saying nothing.

I think I'm going to have to start doing this. I have this one coworker who always asks if I have plans for the weekend, then proceeds to tell me how I need to make plans and do stuff. I need to start making up plans that are just boring enough to be real... Then whether or not I do them will be another matter.
