Hey guys,

Four years ago when I first started to get help for my anxiety and depression I was given a list of phrases to say to myself. At first, I think, it was to read them up to three times a day for a while, then once a day and after that to leave a list of them in random places to find and read.

I was doing some cleaning out this evening and they feel out of my “over coming low self-esteem“ book, I read them and realised that they did have a great impact on journey to finding who I am.

This is the list – it might be of benefit to someone to write them out to see daily.

1. I am responsible and in control of my life
2. Circumstances are what they are, but I can choose my attitudes towards them.
3. I am setting priorities and taking time for what is important
4. I love and respect myself for the way I am
5. It is okay to ask for help when I need it
6. I deserve the good things in life as much as anyone else
7. I am improving one step at a time
8. I can recover by taking one step at a time
9. I am learning to love myself
10. If someone doesn’t return my love, I let go and move on
11. I respect and believe in myself apart from others opinions.
12. It is okay to be myself around others
13. I appreciate my achievements
14. I am learning how to balance work and play in my life
15. It is okay to be upset when things so wrong
16. It is okay to take time and relax
17. It is positive to look after and nurture myself.
18. I am learning to trust others
19. I am learning that it is okay to make mistakes
20. Nobody is perfect so I am willing to go easier on myself.
