Cycling panic attacks throughout hours time?

Soooo, I'm going to try to explain this the best I can.

I've been dealing with something a bit stressful lately. (Well, a few things). And a few of my hormones (especially my coritsol levels / the stress hormone level) and other thyroid issues are pretty high. My mind is constantly on "flight mode" when getting alerted.

I had a "trigger" today of stress. A family member gave me a bit of a lecture today off of situation. The stress from the phone call had me shaking and on the verge of tears. (This was just due to a simple disagreement). I started stumbling my words and to the point of tears coming out. I quickly apologized for the situation and got off the phone as soon a I could.

The anxiety level stayed at the very high amount of anxiousness even after the situation got resolved. and within 20 minute interventions I started to have a panic attack to the point of having hard time breathing sever dizzyness, and sweating, nausea ect. It would slowly stop being so sever however these attacks would happen every 20 minutes or so.

This has lasted for over 2 hours and due to panic attacks breaking through... I had to stop writing this twice to calm down a bit. I feel like I'm sorta going crazy and need to figure out a way to stop the panic/ calm it down a bit right now. Any idea's?

Hey sweety *hugs* this sounds really stressful. Are the attacks still happening? If so try to do something before it gets too much. Maybe try some breathing exercises. I find this website very helpful. It help you focus on your breaking, slowing it down and keeps your mid focused on something else. http://www.doasone.com/BreathingRooms.aspx?RoomID=2

the best thing that helped me was using deep breathing techniques, distracting myself with music/tv/film, or just realizing that the attack is harmless and WILL go away. Panic attacks are completely horrible and NO ONE should have to suffer one let alone multiple hour long attacks . Though sometimes the best treatment is simply time...that's about all the advice that I can give though

    Feel betta soon K!

(((hugs))) I hope you feel better soon, Kay. What helps me.....chamomile tea, burning incense, long, long hot showers, meditating.

Your girlfriend's silence might be her loudest scream.

If you still have more dreams than regrets, congratulations. You haven't gotten old yet.

Spend every moment like it's your last. Hug her, kiss her, hold her, like it's the last time that you ever will. Because it might be.

Yeah I think it's best to just distract and engage in any activity you find soothing. When I'm like this I watch comedies or light weight dramas / documentaries. Avoid horror, avoid caffeine if it makes you hyper. I don't particularly like breathing exercises because it can sometimes backfire and make me feel worse / trigger OCD with my breathing. But I find when I'm lying down I'm more likely to breath deeply and dizziness usually abates.
