    beta blocker issues! Please help!

    Hey Guys,
I was just curious if anyone has ever been on beta blockers where they didn't always work. My boyfriend has been on Bisoprolol for awhile now. It does work at times but lately it seems to not work so much. He has been having high blood pressure and at times a fast heart rate. Do beta blockers not always work when it is due to anxiety and panic? He also has hypochondria. If anyone can help please do so. Thank you!

Different meds work for different people. Beta blockers worked really well for me, but I know that they do nothing to help the anxiety of a lot of people. It could be that he needs a different medication.

I would suggest he speaks to his doctor about his symptoms, especially about the high blood pressure.

^^ Agreed, I would go back to the doctor. Propranolol has worked for me for years, though there have also been long periods of time where I didn't take it. Hopefully there's something else that would work for him instead.
