[OCD] List the ways you stop or postpone compulsions?

When I am walking I get mental compulsions, so I practice concentrating on a particular sound at one time. I also listen for birds chirping and try to identify the direction(s) and place(s) it is coming from.

I tend to just run with a compulsion and then after I calm down, I get angry because I lost control again. Thanks for the suggestion. I might try that.

I have seen people say online, that you can improve my just waiting longer until you preform the compulsion. So if you normally to it after 1 minute, you can wait 2 minutes and then do the compulsion and then next time then increase it.
