Howdy folks.

This looks like a promising place. Haven't spent much time here, but I gather this place was created as a sort of refuge for former members of a now-defunct social anxiety forum called Anxiety Zone. I wasn't a member of that forum, but I hope you'll welcome me anyway!

Someone from SAS notified me of this place, and I'm really grateful that they did. I don't think this will become any sort of replacement for SAS -- I actually quite like that place -- but I'm thinking I'll probably be using it about as much as I've been using SAS.

Before I finish, I'd like to ask: what ever happened to Anxiety Zone? I'd be curious to know.

Unfortunately I can't answer what happened to Anxiety Zone, but I know our board has several former members and I'm sure someone else will be able to answer that.

And thank you kindly, Total Eclipse, for answering my question in that great, warm post of yours! I'm with you on the marketing company thing. I feel that all mental health support sites should be not-for-profit (although I support donations). The exploitation of those suffering from mental health ailments for profit is, in my opinion, not right.

To answer your question the site was made in 2012 when SAS changed managements to being owned by a marketing company. I was a moderator at the time and stepped down due to not agreeing with monopolizing an health support community. We purposely altered it from SAS so that people felt they could stay at both sites I hope you find support here!

As for Anxiety Zone -- it's also believed a marketing company bought-out the owner.

I'm a sole owner of this forum; with many volunteer staff and we have a promise never to sell out or to turn this site into a profiting site.

We are a small-niched community; but a lot of people here are very caring And I totally agree; all mental health websites should be not-for-profit; and never sold out. Once you commit to a health website you don't get to say 'Okay, I'm going to sell'. It's just unethical. It doesn't matter the resources or time you put into the site.. It's just really sad people would do things like that! The site doesn't have Google Ad's as they are really bad and not really friendly to people... We do accept donations and we have a Redbubble account for people to buy logo's etc... but there are certain standers we will live up to.
