    Do You Ever Initiate Handshakes?

I don't and never have. Have you?

I've always viewed it as a somewhat strange custom, though I appreciate it when people initiate handshakes with me. I'd just never initiate one myself.

Yes, in certain situations. At job interviews and when I go to meet potential roommates. May have done it a few times at meetups. Also on semi-blind dates a few times. Generally where the situation is not casual.

Every day, all the time. I'm in outside sales and I meet up with store managers every day. They're the customer and it's my job to take care of them, and....I'm trying to sell to them. It's just part of the protocol. If I'm introducing myself to them for the first time I most def do, every time.

Nope, although I can think of several occasions when maybe I probably should have.

If it happens it happens. More likely to happen with people I have not seen in a long time. No problems with it at all. Just as I would hug an old female friend.

You might think differently if you realize that [you have no idea where their hands have been.]

    It depends.
I hate having to take the initiative, but I do go for it.

I noticed at church that after the greeting section, there is a wafting of hand sanitizer. Trust in Jesus, people.

Hand shakes have never bothered me badly it's better than initiating a hug in person.

^ I guess I'm just strange lol. I don't have a problem with handshakes but I think I'm actually more comfortable with hugs, even if I have to initiate. If you go in for a hug you know you're a best friend (hopefully) whereas if you go in for a handshake you likely don't know them well. Or at all.
You're going to lose people in your life, and realize that no matter how much time you spent with them or how often you told them you loved them, it will never seem like it was enough.

    Hug the ones you love.

Nope. I have done so maybe once or twice in the past, but it hasn't occurred in YEARS.
