My dog's biggest crime is that she wants all my attention. All the time. But now she's starting to bark through the night just to get me to tend to her.

Some of my dogs are very clingy as well. What breed of dog do you have? Separation anxiety and clinginess are most common in German Shepherds and other herding breeds.

She's a poodle. I think some of her behaviors are age-related. She's getting up there in years and her health is starting to show signs of decline.

Being clingy and seeking attention are often age-related behaviors in dogs. My senior dog has issues with this as well.
Have you considered seeking help from a professional trainer? I can also give you a lot of advice. I'm a dog trainer and basically a canine behaviorist.
