This year I've had about five music journalists reach out wanting to cover Crywank only to reach out shortly afterwards to apologise because their editor told them no 👻
Lol and (speaking of a fictional Crywank Barbie movie soundtrack,) I hadn't been following Crywank's twitter for ages but someone posted this:

Tumblr posts that were amusing me because they're so random:

    This was an anonymous ask:

dick makes people mentally ill. dick havers, dick wannabes and dick lovers are all insane. it's like toxoplasmosis, you have compulsive need to defend and push and worship dicks all the time and spead your dick mania to everywhere you go.
this seems rational and grounded in empirical evidence
You can never be normal about these men you always gotta say [BEEP] like I wanna hold him in my mouth like hes a baby alligator
This post has no connection to the above post which makes it funnier:

the wife who dies at the beginning of the movie or something
last night I had a dream that there was a tumblr update and the only thing it changed was that for two minutes straight you could sprinkle shredded cheese on other blogs and their posts, and everyone's dashboard was just pandemonium as everyone cheesed each other. two minutes of abominable amounts of shredded cheese raining from the dash. tumblr at its finest. get cheesed
    This looks very cool:

It turns out when cooking pasta is helps to turn the hob on instead of just filling the pan with boiling water and then forgetting to do that while washing up a bunch of stuff and then wondering why it's taking so long. In a way I'm surprised this is the first time this has happened.

^ that wasn't a post that was just me forgetting to turn the hob on while I was cooking. I really wonder if I have ADHD tbh (not just because of this lol.) I mean I've been wondering this most of my life (I also have a bunch of autism symptoms though.) It's also very genetic and my brother almost certainly has undiagnosed ADHD. He's really like a textbook case and on several occasions recently he's just come to talk to me while cooking something because he gets bored then forgets he's cooking while talking to me and starts burning food. He has diagnosed dyslexia though I think that has some impact on executive function but haven't really looked into it.

    edit:

so i asked a friend what was up and she replied with this and i feel like i’m in an episode of the twilight zone

It's sort of weird to hear my videos made someone aged 20 feel nostalgic. It's sort of weird to think of a 20 year old being nostalgic. I'm trying to think if I did back then. I guess there were probably things I missed back then from the past. Moreso people.

I dunno thinking about it Strange Aeons sort of makes nostalgia content about Tumblr and she's 24 lol so yeah. I guess that makes sense.

Also because I feel like most people that age haven't played that game, but I guess you can get into stuff at any point after it's been created. I think some people said some of my videos made them nostalgic for a previous era of a YouTube community I was ironically never engaged with. I never watched that content. I played the game, kind of left the community side of things in 2009~ and never got into the YouTube/video side of it. Probably first video I saw was in late 2019 or 2020 lol. Wasn't trying.

I really want to hit 100,000 views on a video. There were a few that got a large view count on a channel I had years ago and one is on 98,716 views which is so close lol. I just remembered because someone actually commented on that video for the first time in years (not the nostalgic comment that was something else.) But at this point it's building views very slowly. I think 'travel' type videos do pretty well (some were just in London so I mean I guess I have to get on a train lol,) or used to (and I uploaded them in 2009-2012 so it was still almost early) which is why I had a few that got a decent number of views. I still have loads of footage too that I haven't done anything with and I should, but I cba. My current channel has way more subscribers than this old one, and I consistently get more views on videos (like there's less disparity in views as long as I keep it on certain topics,) but the most viewed is in the 30k range atm. edit: oh 38k closer to 40k I guess.

My brother had a video that hit 2.4 million views and several others that had several hundred thousand views which is insane to think since he only had max 19k subscribers when he was making videos and this was years ago too lol. Like... I follow some people with double that number of subscribers who get half those views. One of his videos did get mentioned by a really big YouTuber at the time though. A fairly big YouTuber (not huge but like several hundred thousand subscribers,) included a screenshot from one of my videos in her video and also clips from other people's videos (don't think she used any clips from my videos but dunno. It was long and didn't watch the whole thing,) but she didn't credit anyone then lol. She's started crediting people now though. I don't really care for myself in this instance because it's just a screenshot. I did notice someone complaining on twitter though.

I genuinely don't get it. What am I supposed to be looking at?

His girlfriend looks like a man.
    ???

Every day I feel better about my own crazy mental state when faced with these people lol.

Someone was like 'I don't know who this person is no one follows them.' (can't confirm they made their account private after this lol.) OK how about Glinner? He does the same [BEEP] and has a huge platform.

Edit: I'd make a distinction between transvestigators and gender critical feminists though (a lot of the discourse about this is along the lines of 'that's not very feminist of you' but they might not be in the first place.) They don't really believe the same things or have the same values, the transvestigators are usually also motivated more by envy and schizotypal personality traits as opposed to sexual trauma and history of abuse, and I can't find out what her ideological situation is.

This was the rest of the argument and that's not more illuminating re her ideology (because people drop their beliefs and values to win arguments or insult people semi-often,) but explains what she was getting at at least:

It's the Rihanna vogue cover photo all over again lol.

Parts of this were pretty painful honestly lol but I think a bunch are fake or people trolling:

I've definitely sent cringe messages to people online before though (2 people.) I have 0 game.

The person claiming that the person who is agender is schizophrenic because they used they/them pronouns and then saying 'my bad' obviously wasn't actually mistaken and just wanted to insult them lol.

A bunch of them are written like they're writing a male anime character but they're also role playing.

'Yo what's good I'm gay but you can change that.' press x to doubt lol. You have to build more set up. Really commit to the bit. Get a fake boyfriend and then he breaks up with you and so on. I see what he's trying to do but by approaching first and especially in this way he's already negating the appeal and (since he's probably lying,) it's just shitty to lie about that in general.

'Even though I'm non gothic you want to come back to my place and watch some porn' wtf is that lol. 'Even though I'm non Gothic'

"Heard you like bad boys well I'm a terrible boy I'm a woman."

    That's mildly entertaining at least.

It's very off putting though when people launch straight into highly sexual messaging about how they want to suck your dick or whatever. I don't know anything about you. We've never spoken about anything and I don't have the sex drive for that to do anything for me. (Also don't have a dick, and I brought this person up before but yeah I'd already blocked them on another site at that point.)

The nature versus nurture debate is too much.

I'm starting to think nurture is the frontrunner. We need to work harder at it compared to some intrinsic gift but it becomes worth more -- because we chose it.

Its coming to the time when work starts giving us Friday afternoons off so we can spend quality time with family during summer, and so I'm debating using that time for a trip to Blackpool Pleasure Beach instead. The Big One and The Icon look awesome and I really want a go on it. The Adrenaline Zone also has a giant swing that looks fun.

Unfortunatley, it's in Blackpool, and for some reason, everybody thinks I'm going to get murdered if I venture into Blackpool.

I mean, I've been to Luton. It can't be worse than Luton. Right?

    @Otherside

My brother's best friend runs a hotel in Blackpool and I went to visit a few years ago and it seemed like an OK place. My brother hasn't been murdered yet either and he's gone there for a few months here and there to help him out. The only weird thing that happened was on the train back a drunk woman (during the day) sat next to me spilling her drink a bit and started talking to me which hasn't happened to me elsewhere. But I'm also from Luton lol so perhaps not the best judge.

edit: I don't think he's gone to any of the places you mentioned though and it is the 'drug capital of the UK' supposedly so yeah. If you're going for a short time it's probably fine.

@Nyctophilia Yeah, it's definatley got a reputation, but huge numbers of people go each year to Pleasure Beach and come out alive.

I've learned to take it not so seriously from some people though, they seem to freak out about visiting anywhere, it seems. Freaked out about me going to Birmingham and that was fine, I didn't get murdered.

blaming this on women is crazy, literal MRA talking point. this is entirely men's fault, it's toxic masculinity. women aren't the ones shaming men for crying
I'm going to need people who claim to be progressive or feminists to stop thinking that women don't participate in perpetuating social norms.

Most people responding to the original comic tweet were criticising it but I saw this retweet because someone was responding to it on my timeline.

(She was responding to someone's comic strip. I think the point is fine but the context doesn't really work. Maybe if they're some kind of tomboy with their friends or like you trash talk while playing a video game or something, but I still doubt they'd do that with someone they're on a date with in this context I dunno. I do think people have contradictory thoughts/preferences often though so again the point isn't wrong.)

    Lol:

a comic with an early 2010s tumblr artstyle and incel beliefs is incredibly funny ngl
    'Derek from Accounting'

"Women don't uphold toxic masculinity and gender roles" is such a wild thing to say as a trans person lmao

    Are you new here??
People who start tweeting stupid 'feminist' takes for clout are one of the most annoying groups on twitter. I'm sorry but it's true. There are probably less trans women who do it than cis women, but it's still a thing because the ideology is popular in trans inclusive spaces. Some people expect trans people to be more enlightened but that's probably unfair and definitely not true in many cases lol...

And I think there are like 5 MRA's on twitter who aren't transphobic who I stumbled on last month, and they consider most MRA's fake and turning people against men's rights by being transphobic and conservative etc which is true. Transphobia is just social conservatism and social conservatism is male disposability so you can't also be an MRA. Same thing as terfs but in reverse. Terfs perpetuate the stereotype of women as victims which isn't feminist because it maintains the status quo. But most feminists on twitter seem to be doing that just some people made it trans inclusive. So at this point it's more useful to throw out both terms which is why I'd just use the label post-gender until anyone else starts using it and it gets ruined too lol.

Obviously most people are happy with the status quo but some people pretend they're not and it's infuriating.

obviously individual men might have been shamed by women for it, but the societal reason why it's not okay for men to cry is 100% because of patriarchy. and i'm not negating your experience by talking about toxic masculinity, idk why you would accuse me of doing that
I genuinely don't think she or most people get how this works. A lot of women find it sexually unattractive and so shame men or point out that they don't find it attractive which makes men try to stop doing that. They don't find it unattractive because of 'patriarchy' they find it unattractive because they have certain sexual preferences which often includes stoicism. Men shame men for crying because it makes them a liability from a group/tribal perspective and also to engage in sexual competition like women do with slut shaming.

Not all men/women engage in these behaviours because not all men/women have the same reproductive strategies. You know, like with the birds I like to talk about:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruff_(bird)#Mating

This is something that people with a popular strategy (the status quo) ignore in Humans and tend to point out how 'actually everyone wants the same thing deep down.'

A 20 year old on tumblr (I don't know their age actually lol I extrapolated, 20 something,) who tweets band photos with #babygirl #I wanna hold him in my lap and kiss him *let me just photoshop my favourite male singer with a lesbian pride flag* is obviously doing something very different from Abby Shapiro or Candace Owens ranting about all the real men disappearing, or some twitter woman (who is so alien to me I wonder if she's grifting tbh lol,) who spends all her time defending Andrew Tate. I found an account like that a while back. But you know I'll say she and the other's aren't grifting.

Jordan Peterson cries in public a lot, more than most men, more than most women, and progressives shamed him excessively for that because it's politically advantageous. There's another motivation. I actually thought that was endearing but he says so many things I disagree with, is a huge asshole on twitter (as with most people,) and since going hardcore Christian and working for the Dailywire doesn't even really say anything that interesting so I can't say I 'like him.' I like his opinions about music.

Humans being capable of advanced cognition could repress their instinctual responses with this kind of thing, if they want to. Well some people can. Like having violent thoughts you don't act on.

I do it about... 60% of the time but I don't do it 100% of the time.

Like you see what I'm doing here?

I keep hearing about Sneako repeatedly and try to ignore that but anyway I ended up clicking this video yesterday. Charlie is actually conventionally attractive physically speaking according to the norms of someone who isn't looking for a super masc male partner (besides the muscles and facial hair he's slim, long hair, his general facial features. I mean people like muscles and facial hair I'm just talking about me and people with similar preferences.) Unfortunately he's sinking to Sneako's level here but I don't entirely blame him because Sneako has been repeatedly insulting him and a bunch of other people on YouTube and twitch for ages now.
That's a compromise but obviously I'm doing the same thing by posting an opinion. Because Sneako kept insulting his appearance (and other's appearance.) If I post a tweet about how I wish more guys had really long hair. Again same thing.

Also this is still great (I think about it everytime I think about Candace Owens,)

"I'm the hardest conservative from Connecticut." 🤣

Lol so what's happening on the wikipedia page 'tomboy' right now?

This article has multiple issues. Please help improve it or discuss these issues on the talk page. (Learn how and when to remove these template messages)

This article may require cleanup to meet Wikipedia's quality standards. The specific problem is: casual tone, awkward discussion of gender stereotypes, partial speech, militancy. (November 2022)
Some of this article's listed sources may not be reliable. (November 2022)

This article is written like a personal reflection, personal essay, or argumentative essay that states a Wikipedia editor's personal feelings or presents an original argument about a topic. (March 2023)

The examples and perspective in this article may not represent a worldwide view of the subject. (March 2023)
Before the mid-19th century, femininity was equated with emotional fragility, physical vulnerability, hesitation, and domestic submissiveness, commonly known as the "Cult of True Womanhood".[4] Under the influence of this ideal of femininity, women of all ages squeezed their waists in extremely tight corsets, starved themselves, and did not engage in strenuous sports or any physical activity.[4] They reduced themselves into subhuman beings in the family environment. This twisted paradigm remained stagnant until the mid-nineteenth century.[4]
Oh yeah lmfao. I like how they also linked to the Wikipedia page for subhuman there too haha. Just to emphasise.

With raising female liberation and gender-neutral playgrounds (at least in the US) in the 21st century, an increasing number of girls can technically be considered as "tomboys" without being referred as "tomboys" because it is mostly considered normal nowadays for girls to engage in physical activities, play equally with boys, and wear pants, masculine or gender-neutral clothing. The association between lesbianism and tomboyism is not only outdated but also disrespectful to both the girl and the lesbian community.
Very opinionated haha. But few lesbians call themselves tomboy anyway (it's a mostly straight/bisexual label and even then most adults wouldn't use it.) It's a term I've come across, but most would just say they're butch or androgynous. Tomboy has childish connotations and also class connotations.

Like this quote from tvtropes it's about archetypes in fiction (well specifically anime + manga really,) but it kind of applies to people too

    https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Bifauxnen

Interestingly, most versions are Prince Charming types and overwhelmingly good characters. Bifauxnen are from an artistic standpoint everything that is positive about masculinity while not losing anything fundamentally female. Many characters, in fact, simply associate with traits typically praised in men; the appearance is just another path to that. Most of the time the bifauxnen is not a Butch Lesbian and is mostly oblivious to reactions they incite.

The major distinction between them and straight-up Tomboys is a direct and neat association with elegance and style, and they often appear older than they really are. Straight-up tomboys are often associated with playfulness and immaturity but are still clearly female. Bifauxnen have some sense of femininity most straight-up tomboys lack, though this isn't a requirement. While it is common to have both types of characters in a series, two bifauxnen are less common, and tend to become playful or sexy rivals.

    'OK' :')

I only have one example for the same reason this thread I just found while googling stuff exists lol. The L chat forum is pretty transphobic:

    Women like Shane/Kate Moennig

Do they exist? Or is the new generation 'non binary'/trans?

I'm in the unfortunate position, where I'm the most physically attracted to androgynous women.. androgynous/soft butch by physical appearance, but mostly attitude. It's almost impossible to find someone like this. Even on lesbian dating apps, great majority of women are either very feminine or very manly looking. If she happens to be skinny and androgynous she usually has pronouns in her profile. It's frustrating
So butthurt about it haha. I was trying to find a quote where she talks about considering herself androgynous over butch and same for the character Shane she plays because most people just conflate the two I guess.

edit: I'm reminded of a tweet

If I paid any attention to bigots, my dating pool would be the size of puddle.

I wouldn't be dating trans women.
I wouldn't be dating bisexual women / NB femmes
I wouldn't be dating pansexual women / NB femmes
    I wouldn't be dating *confused cis-hets* aka spaghetti str8ts

    lol
Anyway I guess Tilda Swinton is another example.

    vs

Always with the skateboards lol. No I was into that too when I was younger. I delusionally wanted to be on a skateteam and tour the world.

Alana Smith made history as the first openly non-binary athlete to compete for Team USA at the Olympics
Can you guess what sport it was? Yeah lol.

Other examples are Justin Bieber, Sneako. Sorry lol. It's not sex specific though and even the etymology of the word wasn't in the first place.

Tomboy can be seen as a phase of gender presentation in adolescence.[12] Some parents might be concerned by the lack of femininity in their child but the tomboy phase is, in fact, crucial to physical development between the ages of 8 and 13, according to Joseph Lee, the playground movement advocate in 1915.[6] Some girls start to embrace femininity as age increases while some persist to be tomboys in adulthood.[12]
The bolded is presented like it's a fact then as an afterthought they add 'according to one guy'

It does a better job with global viewpoints then some articles actually (only because most of wikipedia never bothers at all,) but most wikipedia articles are bad at this. You have to read the article in multiple languages to get a wider perspective.

In the Philippines, tomboys are masculine-presenting women who have relations with other women, with the other women tending to be more feminine, although not exclusively, or transmasculine people who have relationships with women; the former appears more common than the latter.[24] Women who engage in romantic relationships with other women, but who are not masculine, are often still deemed heterosexual. This leads to more invisibility for those that are lesbian and feminine.[25] Scholar Kale Bantigue Fajardo argues for the similarity between "tomboy" in the Philippines and "tombois in Indonesia", and "toms in Thailand" all as various forms of female masculinity.[24] In China, tomboys are called "假小子" (ji? xiao zi), which literally translates as "pseudo-boy". This term is largely used as a derogatory term to describe those girls with masculine characteristics.[26] Most of the times calling someone a "假小子" is a humiliation which implies that the individual could not find a boyfriend.[26] This largely reduces the value of women to only romance and diminishes girls' confidence in working in what is traditionally defined as the "boy's realm.[26]"
Tomboys in fictional stories are often used to contrast a more girly and traditionally feminine character. These characters are also often the ones that undergo a makeover scene in which they learn to be feminine, often under the goal of getting a male partner.
Not everytime but yeah heh. I think I read this part before. That trope was killed as I said before when 'Not Another Teen Movie' came out though. Not in my personal life but it was killed in fiction lol. I also don't think most of the characters who were in one of those scenes were tomboys they were just alternative or geeky most of the time.

Tomboy figures who do not eventually go on to conform to feminine and heterosexual expectations often simply remain in their childhood tomboy state, eternally ambiguous. The stage of life where tomboyism is acceptable is very short and rarely are tomboys allowed to peacefully and happily age out of it without changing and without giving up their tomboyness.
I think it's just difficult to find role models etc. Especially if you come from a certain class background. Like Ashnikko says.

Dust yourself off, girl, keep your chin up
You wanna hold a gun but they made you a pinup

Woah, woah, we're a lousy bunch
To tell the truth, role models weren't around me much
On a bad day, you could say I'm sweeter than ice cream
They told me to be nice and I told 'em to bite me

"Where did all the tomboys go"

Well for a start Blink 182 wrote a song about this:

    The impulse is pure
    Sometimes our circuits get shorted
    By external interference

    Signals get crossed
    And the balance distorted
    By internal incoherence

    A tired mind become a shape-shifter
    Everybody need a mood lifter
    Everybody need reverse polarity

    Everybody got mixed feelings
About the function and the form
    Everybody got to deviate
    From the norm

So, seeing a mini riot took place at a theatre during the production of the Bodyguard, because audience members were singing over the cast, and the riot police ended up having to be called out.

Look, if I wanted to hear 50 year old Jen from Bradford's drunken rendition of "I will always love you", I would go to the pub, where I can get it for free. I wouldn't pay 60 odd quid to hear you singing over the professionals who have been highly trained in order. Or rather, judging by the videos, screeching like hyenas.

Nobody wants to hear it. And I kind of feel that the hosts of This Morning need to take some responsibility for inciting this, by insisting on the morning that the mini riot actually happened, that the point of going to the theatre was to "sing along, make up words if you don't know them, whilst eating at ice cream noisily", and that it was unreasonable for everyone to expect them to be able to control themselves and not go "Defying gravity!".

Unless it's something like the Rocky Horror Picture Show where it's encouraged.
