I wonder what the Buddha would have thought about slot machines being named after him (so much suffering and people throwing away money). But technically, the image is not Gautama, but the "fat buddha" which is actually a monk named Budai. Still, it's ironic that a monk from a religion that's about ending suffering is used as a symbol for gambling. Imagine if there was a Jesus slot machine. lmao.

Really don't know if I'm going to still go to this thing reading that was pretty upsetting (trying to be vague but still felt like posting haha. Perhaps I will elaborate one day cause I certainly have lots of thoughts but anonymity is also important and I'm doing a [BEEP] job with that generally.) Also how small is this group I just realised this person who said they're the guy's boyfriend is someone I spoke to on reddit years ago and at the time during the conversation we had I brought up something only for them to say that he was the same person then too lol. Also somehow he's also a fan of Porcupine Tree and it's rare to come across someone who has heard of both these groups lol.

Living in this world as a trans or non-binary person and with autism is hard and people use this as a way to feel safe/connected/cope you advertise [BEEP] as being supportive of mental health issues but then do this. It's so fucked.

    ---

Also I didn't post this earlier but I was curious because people were talking about some backlash that was apparently happening because Jordan Peterson criticised pimps/Andrew Tate. And this is honestly insane lol like:

Jordan Peterson's Asinine and Cowardly Attack on Andrew Tate Shows His Feminist Credentials & Why Men Can't Trust The Alt Right

I was not the least bit surprised at the Alt Right's recent co-ordinated 'Matrix' attack on @Cobratate It was completely obvious: despite their faux posturing against feminism, LGTBQ & 'Communists', the people they really hate are exactly like Tate: half caste multiculturalists who don't toe the nationalist line...and worst of all dabble in Islam.
This guy has written a long twitter thread defending Andrew Tate.

And look at this guy's bio:

Investigative Journalist, PHD Candidate, MA Philosophy, PGCE Mathematics, LLB Law, Author and Blogger
I don't know why I still expect well educated people to be sensible at this point lol. Twitter is insane and who is paying them?

    Let's examine Peterson's bizarre, banal & backstabbing remarks…

Pimps are vile. But just HOW are pimps 'the WORST'?

This actually shows that Peterson is a closet feminist 'white knight'. /4
You're going to have to take things a bit less literally.

His comments are so on the nose & gauche as to defy response, the hackneyed trope of black men pimping or raping white women has been deployed against people of color from lynching times onwards. Latterly the same language has been used about Muslims and the sacred 'white women'. Tate being the unholy trinity of a mixed race Muslim man is a dream target for these people. /5
This is an incredibly weird hill for this guy to die on honestly. I also don't know why he's assuming all the women were white either I certainly don't know that and given Andrew Tate grew up in Luton and then I think spent time in London it's not a safe assumption. And Andrew Tate only converted to Islam 5 minutes ago because it was convenient for him.

Peterson, you come straight out of a comic book man!
No he's actually a video game villain. Some say he started the Oblivion crisis although I think he's more like Jyggalag myself it's all part of the lore.

Firstly, how can 'pimping' be worse than murder, paedophilia, abortion, infanticide or false accusations of rape?

Also, it might be CONSENSUAL. Why is that a problem?

If you are allowed to sell sex why can't you have an agent or manager, like any other type of 'entertainer'?

    Is he against all prostitution?
What about female pimps and madams? /6
He's unnecessary and robbing the women who work for him and a lot of the women have complained. Instead of making it clear that it's just sex work he's letting lonely guys give him all their money they'd be better off just playing The Sims and/or making their ideal girlfriend/life in a video game at that point honestly...

Ideally people doing sex work should be self employed. Porn is a bit more complicated because it essentially functions like a film set (I mean like scripted stuff not someone recording and uploading themselves having sex with their partner etc,) but you want to remove hierarchy as much as possible. Regardless of your feelings about this though - he's clearly a bad employer or he wouldn't have gotten so much backlash in the first place from these women.

Women can sell sex but as soon as a man profits from it, it's the WORST crime?!

If women are forced to sell sex on the street or in brothels or hotels because of 'free market capitalism' & the 'western civilization' that Peterson supports, then shouldn't they have bodyguards who can protect them against violent male customers? Shouldn't such men receive a share of the profits? /7
He ran a webcam business man what exactly was he protecting them from?

While attacking Tate as a 'pimp' he lionises the worst feminist tropes.

As far as Muslims like Tate are concerned, all sex work should be criminalized; both those purveying and those purchasing. From TikTok to call girls. /8
Well then he's a huge hypocrite so why even bother defending him?

However, it has been a long-term policy of radical feminists to allow sex work but to criminalise only the buyers - meaning men.

The monetization of female sexuality is extremely important to feminism, and not because it is 'sex positive feminism' but because feminism is not about equality; it’s about getting everything and anything for women even if that creates greater inequality.

Feminists promote policies as they have done in Scandinavia, the UK and now Peterson would like to do in America, where prostitution is completely legal but only the people using prostitutes i.e men, are criminals - men who are also in fact victims since they are so desperate that they are forced to pay for sex and intimacy. /9
Depends on the form of feminism and the individual. But again he's been very clear about the fact that he's manipulating and stealing from women and men... If you cared about men you wouldn't approve of what he's doing as he was tricking these guys into thinking they had a chance if they just kept giving money. Instead of being clear.

I was watching this clip a while ago. You see how she reacts? Ideally she would set some kind of limit that would be more ethical (I don't know if it's possible,) but she tried:

This is how normal people react though not:

Andrew Tate: 'They thought they were on 50% and I said that the disparity was because of taxes.'

ex-cam girl: 'He would just pay me a flat fee of 15 pounds an hour'

    and

Andrew Tate: 'we got to the point where we had these guys falling in love with my models. Serious big time in love right. Sending crazy money and they were convinced they were gonna meet the chick. This is almost where I kind of felt bad.'

    Almost?

Andrew Tate: 'because they were like: can we meet I've sent you 200,000 dollars'

    TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS?

Andrew Tate: 'I had these guys selling their houses, life savings, loans, all of it to me. Give me it all.'

He's proud of this and bragging about it. You'd have to be either profoundly ignorant or psychopathic yourself to defend this frankly.

Unsolicited titillation of men and exposing yourself in front of children however is not a problem.

In the final analysis, the Alt right can never tackle militant feminists nor militant LGBTQ because the issue they really care about is immigration and immigration itself is a proxy for 'miscegenation' in the deranged mind of these cultists. /12
Tate as a black man who is a product of both immigration and miscegenation, not to mention Islam, is a natural target for Peterson's animus:

Until he decided that it was more financially expedient to keep Muslims on board, Petersen's Islamophobia was obvious with banal statements such as he didn't know where to get good information about Islam (the guy worked in a Canadian university) or whether dialogue was even POSSIBLE between Muslims and 'the west' (whatever that is). /13
'Uh they're directing their bigotry away from LGBT+ people to someone I identify with for a change.'

Lol. And Andrew Tate is terrible. I've seen numerous black guys criticising him. And he's half white and unlike most people I take that quite seriously in the identity politics game.

Andrew Tate: Im too black for this. Thats what I say when women try and tell me what to do.

Oh and as I said when I first read that tweet mummy issues is more of a white person thing. I can say this because I'm white and those are apparently the rules. But anyway please continue to tell us how it's everyone else making black guys look bad.

Someone actually responded to his tweet too lol with this:

    So what do I say?

    I'm too white for this?
Oh and the thread goes on for quite some time after this.

Most of the responses are his ingroup agreeing with him which is disappointing to see.

    Men should be men.
Strong and respectful can live in the same body.

    @jordanbpeterson
is not a man. He is a Eunuch.
Any or all of these definitions seem to fit him depending on the day.
    The definitions he linked:

    1. A castrated man, traditionally employed as a harem attendant or as a functionary in certain Asian courts.
    2. Often Offensive A man or boy whose testes are nonfunctioning or have been removed.
    3. Derogatory An ineffectual or powerless man.

I don't think 1 or 2 probably apply even 3 doesn't apply as he has a huge amount of influence. On the other hand you seem to be employed in Andrew Tate's harem lol.

Jordan Peterson preaches strength but he know deep down in his mind he is weak physically and mentally and It eats him up that's why he has an issue with Andrew tate because he's more of a man than him
He's definitely insecure about it imo I think that's why he said he was uncomfortable for a moment with his son being dressed up as a fairy princess as a kid, but ultimately even Andrew Tate's own mother doesn't approve of him so he goes around trying to get attention from powerful women like Greta Thunberg by trolling them.

A family friend told MailOnline that she "doesn't like what's going on." The friend added, "I don’t think she is happy with what Andrew says, the misogyny. She says he says these things for the response he gets – for the number of hits on the internet."

Muslim billionaire wins permission to turn one of London's most famous landmarks into a mosque

Built in 1896, the Trocadero is one of central London's most famous entertainment complexes

Property tycoon Asif Aziz is building a three-storey mosque inside the Trocadero

It is thought that the mosque - which may be called 'Piccadilly Prayer Space' - could be open within months
Lol I was looking into that building a month or two ago because it used to be this really cool arcade and now the only arcades left I'm aware of since the namco station recently closed down are pretty small. It's a shame and it would be really cool to see some place like that come back but it never will. There's just no market for it now.

People are really upset about this of course.

Critics have questioned whether it should be built in an area filled with alcohol-serving bars, nightclubs, and Soho's gay venues and strip joints ? all of which are shunned by Islam as sinful
Ime here there's tensions between these groups like there were arguments about a gay sauna being opened near a mosque:

    https://www.thepinknews.com/2016/06/...e-to-a-mosque/

Police commissioner objected to gay sauna license because it's 'too close to a mosque'
But that may not be the case in London. It's a strange place where a conservative candidate running for mayor supports gender ID laws and marijuana legalisation. I'd imagine there will be issues with people travelling from elsewhere.

This building is in the middle of London's historic center.

The only alternative to Islam for the UK are pride flags as they no longer have any culture or patriotism.

Allah is the best of planners.

    ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰ
Britain will be fully Islamic soon
Oh wait did Tate post almost the same thing as the above tweet too? (which was likely posted by a troll account.) This is why Jordan Peterson is wrong at least somewhat anonymity is not stopping the psychopathy entirely. It also was more controllable when the internet was less homogenous and algorithms weren't controlling everything. Plenty of non anon accounts engage in it too though.

This building is literally dead centre in the middle of London?s historic centre.

    Amazing news.

The only alternative to Islam for the brits are pride flags as they no longer have any innate culture or patriotisim.

Allah is the best of planners and I look forward to seeing The Islamic republic of Great Britistan in her final form.

Alhamdulillah Britain will be fully Islamic soon.
Brits don't want a Muslim dominated society. The fact Arabs are a big % of the population is wokeness by itself. Is funny how Arab tate supporters dislike feminist and gays even tho they are the reason their presence is tolerated in the UK
Right in the centre of London's gay culture. Bizarre.
Everyone's decided we're this incredibly powerful force.

I wasn't personally consulted if I was I would have just turned it back into an arcade or a concert venue. I'm not going to lie to you my agenda is pretty simple.

I'm exhausted by all the nuance I have to constantly maintain because the internet is overrun by psychopaths trying to destroy. It's hard on my little monkey brain. Taxing.

Say no to 🏳️*🌈, say no to ☪️.
    Some Ethiopian guy:

You say that, but you offer no alternative. What is your alternative?? you guys hate christianity to the core. Attack it everywhere. What have you got to stand on?? empty vassal!!! Islam will rule you guys. Enjoy your decline.
You're speaking to a Christian. Christianity has been under attack for decades, the same people pushing gay rights. Brought you muslims here to west. You have been protected by same liberal politics that protects the gays. It seems to me that Satan wants to destroy Christianity.
I am not a muslim. A sad non western Christian man watching the once great Christian empires decline. I dont get why britons tolerate such attack to their core values. How did it get this far. Why? you must return to your roots.
In another area of this website:

Fun Religion facts I made up:
Jesus is a gay trans man.
Satan is a lesbian trans woman.
    The prophet Muhammad is bi.
    The lord God a nb.
    uwu.

in a transbian relationship with the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)
The Prophetess Muhammad is upset by your bigotry.
Can you imagine if twitter was real lmfao? Or the UK for that matter. I mean be serious. It's one huge live action role playing game.

I see no difference from Slaanesh vs Khorne and so on. And who created those stories. British people again yes.

I was reading that the chance of us existing is almost zero. When you think about it, everything had to happen exactly as it did, with all of our ancestors. Your parents had to meet and decide to have sex at that specific time, etc. It's crazy to think about.

edit: Also, I don't know how the people on r/place have the patience to make those designs.

At 1 hour and 36 minutes into this video you can see a tweet where Jennifer Bilek complains that Helen Joyce didn't credit her for writing stuff in her book based on an interview of her in 2020.

Your interview of me in 2020, for this book, proved fruitful, I see. A citation was called for, for the world you lifted from me. My followers are messaging me abt this. I think other American feminists got a raw deal as well. But, I won't speak for them. #plagiarism
No I imagine you were pointedly left out as a citation because she knew how it would look if her source was 'crazy twitter conspiracy theorist'

Helen Joyce then deleted all her tweets where she'd previously promoted Bilek or brought her up. She didn't remove her likes though apparently on her tweets.

Kellie Kay Keen's weird storm imagery thing is certainly creepy in light of her similarities to the Nazi party.

As the mainstream conversation stands still the anti-trans movement as a whole has become increasingly radical. JK Rowling support for Kellie Kay Keen is one of the reasons the other transphobes with a history of criticising Keen are now accepting and defending her because standing against Keen now means standing against Rowling and not many of them want to do that.
Well I finally finished this video. Unfortunately the people who most need to watch it won't.

There's a particularly British delight in cruelty to her whole persona that we desperately need to expunge from our culture. It's one of our worst traits.
That's it. That's why she tries to posh up her speech. She wants to be a psychiatrist from the 1970s writing "malingerer" with glee in someone's medical file.
Oh I'm not the only one who notices 'the vibe' then? Not sure that's how I'd put it but there's just a quality right?

I don't even have words at this point. It's just.

Not just happy music, but any music that seems to appeal to the masses annoys me, almost to the point of anger. This is why I'm thankful that SW and PT never became mainstream, it's our little secret to enjoy. Let the plebes have their Taylor Swift.
    Does he know?

I also feel like that's a really juvenile mentality to have. It's very much how teenagers often feel but then ideally you grow out of that lol. Maybe they are a teenager though.

I don't think he exactly enjoys being underrated more 'it's fine' but he'd probably prefer to have existed at a time when he could have been more mainstream and when more people were making similar music like Kate Bush, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin etc used to be mainstream. For example he puts his music up on streaming sites despite talking about how he finds it an inferior way to listen to music because he wants to reach as many people as possible.

Oh I found another version that I can embed of this live version:

I mean it's not the same live performance but it's the same genre.

I'm going to say that Porcupine Tree concert was the second best I've been to maybe just because I actually have withdrawal right now and nobody else I can think of that I really want to see live (and this was probably their last tour ever.) That's on the same level.

But I do want to see Drab Majesty live and yet:

    Oct 22
    Berlin, Germany
    Lido

    Oct 25
    Lisbon, Portugal
    Musicbox

    Oct 26
    Porto, Portugal
    Hard Club - Sala 2

    Oct 30
    Nantes, France
    Le Ferrailleur

    Oct 31
    Montreuil, France
    La Marbrerie

    Nov 2
    Milan, Italy
    Barrio's Live

    Nov 18
    Huntington Beach, CA, US
    Darker Waves Fest

NOOOOOOOOO Come to the UK 😭

Why does their subreddit only have 343 people? Is that the main one?

Oh no they're never going to come here again are they?

Drab Majesty Appreciation Post. Never would have known about them if they hadn't opened for AFI and now I'm obsessed with them
Uh then please come back here and bring them with you (I assume they were supporting them on their US leg of whatever tour that was.) I wouldn't mind seeing AFI I guess. I'd rather see Drab Majesty headlining but I've seen AFI supporting Deftones and they were pretty good. Just I doubt they play any of the songs I'd most want to hear like:

Mostly because there's also a hidden track after about a 7 minute break haha. I'd love that. They just play God called in Sick Today and then stand there silent for 7+ minutes before playing Midnight Sun.

This song was leaked online in 2016 and was recorded during the Decemberunderground era (2006) and afaik is unreleased? So I assume they've never played it live:

It's somehow weirdly nostalgic despite the fact that I never heard it until several years ago lol.

When we're talking to people what exactly are we talking to? AI shows that intelligence doesn't need consciousness, so are we talking to a nonconscious intelligent aspect of the brain? To the part that thinks (the mind)? Or are we talking to awareness itself?
    @Nyctophilia
I would love to see AFI. Totalimmortal would be crazy live.

    @Doseone

I looked it up and this was the setlist at the concert I went to it was in 2017:

    Girl's Not Grey
    This Celluloid Dream
    17 Crimes
    Aurelia
    The Leaving Song Pt. II
    I Hope You Suffer
    Snow Cats
    The Days of the Phoenix
    Paper Airplanes (Makeshift Wings)
    Silver and Cold
    Miss Murder

There was a lot of newer material that I hadn't heard but I ended up checking a bunch of it out on YouTube after the concert. For some reason I thought the lyrics to Aurelia were singing 'fucking in the wrong key' lol but it's barking which makes way more sense.

The Days of the Phoenix was the oldest song they played. I think that was also the first song I heard by them although for some reason I thought I heard it on the soundtrack of a Tony Hawk Underground game but can't see it listed there so maybe I imagined that and now I don't know where I heard it lol. I don't know if they ever play more older songs or if it's mostly just stuff off Sing The Sorrow and later.

Oh I found some live videos of that concert on YouTube lol. Most of them aren't the best quality though:

I really wish bands would do more pro-recordings of concerts.

That was a really cool venue too but the queuing situation was weird there was like an outside queue and then later didn't realise but also an inside queue. So because of that I ended up a bit further back from the stage then I would have been but I wasn't a bad position and from what I remember I ended up getting moved by the crowd when Deftones came out anyway lol.

There were people there who had travelled really far (I think one person came all the way from the US lol, maybe they had other reasons to be here though,) and also people there only for AFI and I felt kind of bad for them because they weren't on that long.

Also the whispering parts of Midnight Sun actually remind me a lot of the whispering parts in Vampires Will Never Hurt You by My Chemical Romance lol now that I think about it.

I searched on Google and nobody else has seemed to make this connection. Emos have let me down. (I didn't really look hard though either lol.)

I watched this Telegraph interview with Jordan Peterson. It really showcases his decline actually over time - partially caused by social media obviously. But I think his taste in 'great men' leaves much to be desired. One of them was Elon Musk and the other was Joe Rogan. I don't hate Joe Rogan or anything but he's not particularly interesting. He has a very successful podcast where he platforms some interesting figures and many damaging conspiracy theorists, and he doesn't push back enough.

I don't think people like it when interviewers push back especially if they like the person being interviewed. And in many contexts that's fine however with some of these people you really do just wish he transformed into one of those 'annoying aggressive British female left wing journalists.' (It's funny because that was brought up in a previous interview with this same interviewer lol last year.) Because what they're saying does need to be challenged actually.

Dave Rubin is even worse but I don't hear about him that much these days and I don't think his show is as influential on tiktok etc.

I notice on a lot of Jordan Peterson's interview videos people praise the interviewer when they let him speak a lot but honestly Jordan Peterson is prone to talking over people in his frenetic excitement.

I think when he gets really emotional he expresses too much confidence in what he's talking about which isn't always deserved. And as with other people I think his general focus on Christianity since he converted kind of ruins things a bit. It would be better if he drew from a slightly wider range of material/perspectives too. Not that I'm one to talk there haha.

His political thoughts/ideas are the least interesting though honestly. He also overestimates how much the world cared/paid attention to the story about Trudeau freezing trucker's bank accounts.

The first question they discuss is whether the right has lot the culture war. Then he says:

The right lacks vision. They play a rearguard game. They don't have a compelling story to tell young people. And because they're conscientious - conservatives are conscientious it's easy to hoist them on the petard of guilt and the psychopathic narcissists of the radical left are unbelievably good at that.
First of all it's not obvious to me that the guilt thing is particularly effective with right wingers it's more of a ingroup policing behaviour from what I can see, and I'm not sure being conscientious would even affect the ability to be guilted? Surely it's more related to agreeableness? I would have thought so anyway. But then I also pay more attention to the far right and I don't think they have much in common psychologically with conservatives so perhaps there's some difference there. I don't think Ben Shapiro is all that easily guilted either though...

Secondly it's unclear if he's referring to a subset of the left or who he's referring to specifically which is a problem I have with political discussions in general these days. If you're talking about an individual than it makes sense at least because you can consider their behaviour but as a descriptor for a vague group of people it's not good.

Another thing that's quite irritating is he suggests that 'reputation destruction' is a form of feminine psychopathic behaviour and he frames this as negative but he constantly claims there are situations where violence is not negative. He does this very often. Including when discussing psychopathic men online 'they're put in their place in real life by violence.' OK well that seems incredibly sexist then. You've suggested there's no context or situation where 'reputation destruction' is useful/good. And that's definitely not the case because most people engage in this behaviour and if most Humans engage in the behaviour, than it's obviously evolved for a useful purpose. Then you have to consider where the boundary for that is like are you not allowed to criticise people at all online ever? Because he's done that many times including in this interview lol when they start talking about various political leaders who they don't care for even though they're not in the room. Or garden. Wherever they are.

One thing's for sure. If you look up the antonym of conscientious in the dictionary there's actually just a photo of me.

As for the vision thing. In general they won't budge on the LGBT+ issue which is something gen z cares a lot about (20% in the US id as LGBT+ and many more probably support LGBT+ people.) Instead of forming a vision of integrating LGBT+ people into conservatism they instead demonise people and call them groomers. This has the added benefit of making it seem edgy which appeals to teenagers even more.

While Generation Z's views resemble those of Millennials in many areas, Gen Zers are distinct from Millennials and older generations in at least two ways, both of which reflect the cultural context in which they are coming of age. Gen Zers are more likely than Millennials to say they know someone who prefers that others use gender-neutral pronouns to refer to them: 35% say this is the case, compared with a quarter of Millennials. Among each older generation, the share saying this drops: 16% of Gen Xers, 12% of Boomers and just 7% of Silents say this.

The youngest generation is also the most likely to say forms or online profiles that ask about a person's gender should include options other than 'man' or 'woman.' Roughly six-in-ten Gen Zers (59% ) hold this view, compared with half of Millennials and four-in-ten or fewer Gen Xers, Boomers and Silents.
    https://www.pewresearch.org/social-t...itical-issues/

Nearly two-thirds of Generation Z is worried about the future of LGBTQ+ rights, including a quarter who say they are "extremely concerned," according to new survey data from the market research firm Toluna.
    https://thehill.com/changing-america...s-survey-says/

Related to the above they're completely allergic to technology or anything atypical re: reproduction. So they don't and won't support research into artificial wombs or support surrogacy. So essentially you can't promote a family for LGBT+ people if you don't support surrogacy and/or artificial wombs. They attack gay men who try to suck up to them like Dave Rubin. They disagree with gay marriage and/or the fact he and his husband used a surrogate to have kids. Now he's a spineless figure so he doesn't care when people insult his family and won't really defend himself and will pretty much put up with anything. But most people aren't like that.

They're horrified by trans couples who have kids. They're horrified by trans people in general.

There are some other differences too regarding the discussion of race:

On views about race relations, Gen Z Republicans are more likely than older generations of Republicans to say that blacks are treated less fairly than whites. Among Republicans, 43% of Gen Zers say this, compared with 30% of Millennials and roughly 20% of Gen Xers, Boomers and Silents. Gen Z Republicans are also much more likely than their GOP counterparts in older generations to say increasing racial and ethnic diversity in the U.S. is a good thing for society. On each of these measures, Democrats' views are nearly uniform across generations.
    And climate change:

In addition, the youngest Republicans stand apart in their views on the role of government and the causes of climate change. Gen Z Republicans are much more likely than Republicans in older generations to say government should do more to solve problems. And they are less likely than their older counterparts to attribute the earth's warming temperatures to natural patterns, as opposed to human activity.
Gen Zers and Millennials share views on politics and policy; large generational gaps among Republicans
This is just my opinion obviously but I think growth areas or areas where you could 'win' are: encouraging people to have kids/family (because most people want to reproduce anyway really under ideal circumstances that's what animals do and there are also lots of people who want kids but can't have them so your focus should pivot to that,) promoting an alternative life path where women have kids at younger ages and then go on to have a career later on instead of the idea of a woman not having a career period because *trad con gender beliefs* (so that's more of a compromise and more about pronatalism than conservatism.) Discouraging the use of most drugs and casual sex (people have gradually become more and more disenchanted with it anyway, women are more sociosexually restricted on average and they're not getting orgasms during casual sex as much,) Various trad aesthetics/art movements.

Areas you probably won't win in long term: LGBT+ rights, surrogacy, artificial wombs/reproductive technology, debates about race, debates about the type of sex people have/bdsm/kink, abortion, contraception.

unclear: various debates about religion, poly relationships, porn, sex work (this is going to go through insane amounts of technological development over the next 2+ decades so it's particularly hard to predict what's going to happen.)

I always thought you wanted there to be less teen pregnancy but Matt Walsh has made me reconsider that viewpoint. I guess you want teen pregnancy but not teen sex. Child marriage or loopholes that facilitate it (weirdly without the ability for the child to then consent to divorce,) have been legal in many US states as recently as at least a few years ago when I was looking into it. But the rate of teen pregnancy is going down I think.

Millennials are the first generation to not become more right wing with age:

    https://www.ft.com/content/c361e372-...3-f5c0a7767cf4

Western conservatives are at risk from generations of voters who are no longer moving to the right as they age
The pattern has held remarkably firm. By my calculations, members of Britain?s "silent generation", born between 1928 and 1945, were five percentage points less conservative than the national average at age 35, but around five points more conservative by age 70. The "baby boomer" generation traced the same path, and "Gen X", born between 1965 and 1980, are now following suit.

Millennials -- born between 1981 and 1996 -- started out on the same trajectory, but then something changed. The shift has striking implications for the UK?s Conservatives and US Republicans, who can no longer simply rely on their base being replenished as the years pass.
Not only are we not becoming more right wing with age we're actually becoming more left wing with age

    https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/...-conservative/

As Payne points out, it's not just that millennials are 'the first demographic cohort not to become more right-wing as they age,' they are 'the first generation to become more left-wing as they age'. An almighty brood of chickens, a-roosting they have come.
I definitely became more sympathetic to far left economic discussion over the past several years, and I've seen this pattern among pretty much only millenials and younger over the last decade so it's definitely a thing.

As a millennial myself, my innate instinct is to respond to this report with a meme, but I can't decide which one. Maybe Principal Skinner: 'Am I out of touch? No, it's the looming electoral landslide that is wrong!' Or perhaps 'well, well, well, if it isn't the consequences of my own short-termist policies'. The Tories sowing: haha, 2015; yes, 2019! The Tories reaping: well, 2024 sucks.

While I'm all for gloating, it's worth interrogating these developments a little. How has one of the world's oldest and most electorally successful political parties managed to alienate and antagonise so many voters?
A generation lost to political and economic dysfunction is still only a symptom. The cause of the Conservative party's troubles is the Conservative party and its separation from its own purpose and philosophy. The Conservative party is not merely failing to sell conservatism to the next generation. It has stopped buying into conservatism itself.

The business of conservatism is not whining about wokeness and sneering at snowflakes, it?s fashioning a social order that encourages conservative ends. Those ends, as I understand them, are the veneration of tradition, the exercise of caution, the defence of constancy, the kindling of humility and the pursuit of beauty. A conservative recognises marriage, child-rearing, strong communities, public integrity and cultural cohesion as goods in themselves but also as the base conditions for stable societies in which people live ordered, virtuous lives.
    https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...twing-with-age

Chewing gum. Napkins. Thongs. Over the past decade, millennials have been accused of killing off a dizzying variety of things. And despite the fact that some of them are now approaching middle age and the world has turned its attention to the shenanigans of gen Z, it looks as though millennials still have a taste for murder. Their victim this time? Conservatism.

Historically, people tend to become less liberal as they age: the Che Guevara posters come down and conversations about home improvements replace debates about social improvements. But millennials are bucking that trend.

The shift is remarkable. According to an analysis by the Financial Times, if millennials were following previous trends, someone aged 35 would be about five percentage points less conservative than the national average and would gradually become more conservative. The reality, says the FT? "They're more like 15 points less conservative, and in both Britain and the US are by far the least conservative 35-year-olds in recorded history."
I know what you?re thinking, because I thought it too. You?re thinking home ownership is largely to blame. (Perhaps you were thinking about what to have for dinner, in which case I apologise.) As we know, millennials spend all their money on avocado toast and takeaway coffee, meaning that they have lagged behind other generations when it comes to owning their own home. If they had mortgages to pay and property prices to protect, they would probably be a lot more conservative, right?
Lunch actually. My sleeping pattern is insane. One of many things about me that's not traditional.

There are deeper issues at play. "The most likely explanation is a cohort effect ? that millennials have developed different values to previous generations, shaped by experiences unique to them, and they do not feel conservatives share these,? wrote Burn-Murdoch. To put this in my own, blunter, terms: millennials have been royally screwed by an inequitable economic system and a runaway climate crisis. Only an idiot with loads of money would be happy with the way things are.
    Some tweet:

it's probably because conservatism is based on stability and security and millennials have literally never had either in their adult lives
Having said that younger generations are generally more socially conservative than older people on various topics eg:

Gen Z (30% ) and Millennials (30% ) are twice as likely as Baby Boomers (14% ) to say that a man who stays home to look after his children is less of a man, with a similar pattern seen in Britain.
Moreover, majorities of Gen Z (52% ) and Millennials (53% ) say we have gone so far in promoting women's equality that we are discriminating against men - greater than the share of Baby Boomers (40% ) and Gen X (46% ) who say the same.
The data is clear that millennials are not simply going to age into conservatism. To reverse a cohort effect, you have to do something for that cohort.
I agree and I think I have a great idea that will help with the 'vision thing' too.

We need to bring back cool looking arcades with puzzle bobble and Tekken 3:

And bring back this kind of aesthetic:

    And crop tops for men.

That's how you get my vote this year. Robot AI 70s rockstar boyfriend. Or 90s inspired by 70s boyfriend. And I want a trip to the North American desert and some dmt.

Imagine playing puzzle bobble on dmt:

No playing it online isn't the same. You don't have some kid walk over and steal one of your credits by pressing the 2 player button. Cause there's no such button. You just have a keyboard. And then je ne parle pas vraiment le francais. Not really universally applicable lol actually it was really annoying when people did that.

    Lol just remembered this:

This is conservative now. I'm conserving the 70s and the 90s/2000s you see. Ignoring the robot/AI part.

One good thing is that small London arcade I went to in February has 2 candy floss machines now. My weirdest random interest is vending machines.

This first one is so surreal lol (with the weird short stories):

I think there's something about the convenient asociality of them. I like the ones where you can buy hot drinks a lot too. I sometimes used to get tea from one at uni. It reminds me as a kid in some public toilets where they'd have a sink that dispensed soap, water and an air dryer all in one.

Girl's Not Grey would be an awesome opener! I'm not too familiar with most of the songs on that setlist. I think I've listened to most of their albums, but those songs must have not stuck with me.

I once had a Mexican friend who told me in her religion, we are already in hell (life). Because what could be worse?

I never asked the name of that religion and never came across the concept since. We were 17 at the time. I think it was just a familial thing and not widespread organized religion.

Interesting. I've had psychotic episodes where I thought I was in hell, that I was God, that I was Satan, etc. I know in many Eastern religions, this life is due to past karma, so it could be a form of hell for some.

    Narcissistic rambling:

Video isn't doing particularly well but that's to be expected I guess after the large gap and the length of the video.

This kind of stuck out to me because so many comments were saying that:

    you're very creative
ur gameplay is so creative, and i love all the storylines you can come up with on the spot.
Really clever and creative! Loved the worldbuilding, that maze felt like a mix between Pixar and a horror movie.
    This was so creative!
You always do such creative and fun things.
Well I was trying to express more of that this time. I wish I was more creative though and I also don't think this is a productive thing to do creatively. It's just what I've ended up doing due to a general lack of talent/skill in most areas. And it's the only thing that's gained an audience. It's pretty fun and I need something but I want to be doing other things too I just don't have the motivation for most things.

Is this the [redacted] Cinematic Universe" confirmed?🤔 I sure hope so, I could watch a whole movie based on that great intro and cutscene
I guess I think on a fundamental level that this isn't innovative enough and relies too much on pre-existing stuff (it's not 'from scratch,') and also just really niche and also more like entertainment. This I guess (I just googled entertainment vs art lol):

Entertainment is deemed shallow, while art is intelligent. Entertainment is deemed inconsequential while art is powerful. Entertainment is deemed pleasurable while art is inspirational.
The author of that blog post is trying to make a case for entertainment though I guess lol.

    https://www.queensjournal.ca/arts-vs...-a-difference/

This differentiation of the two is often decided by the viewer; pretentiousness is often what dictates what is and what is not art.
Martin Scorsese, for example, has compared the Marvel franchise to amusement parks. Doing this dismisses the entirety of the franchise as non-substantive entertainment, subsequently disenfranchising the creators from the depth and effort invested in storylines have touched millions of people around the world.
And well also like this I guess lol:

(I'm a millenial of course and also obviously care about music, but I'm essentially contributing to the culture he is talking about.)

But I don't think I'm intelligent enough or motivated enough for a lot of things. And it's sort of inevitable that I came to this point as I was consuming non video related similar stuff as a teenager created by - at least sometimes - people with ADHD and executive function issues. I guess ironically I discovered a lot of music through one of those people though lol. Also feel like I should do more modding though. I mean another thing is wanting to feel like I'm doing something even tangentially related to my degree subject since I didn't end up going into game development.

But I have musical ideas and stuff I want to explore. But I don't and it's hard to materialise stuff from out of my head in general. Oh and it's similar amusingly like discovering something creepy is a great starting point for me. Like my old oven with the creepy sounding door etc. Not just the door though actually there are lots of ways to get creepy sounds from like the drawers etc too.

Just again goes back to the motivation and intelligence thing. I'm not good at self teaching. It's frustrating because I often feel like I'm wrestling with and trying to control my brain. It's almost like that time where I was having a lucid dream only I had to keep control of the entire universe in the dream in order to not wake up so ultimately ended up waking up pretty quickly. That's what it often feels like trying to do most things. And my brain is so slow. I lose years easily.

I also sort of internalised the idea that being creative is really important at some point. I think I mentioned this before probably. Even though I am bad at most creative things. Especially drawing and 2D art and really anything academic. I don't know where that idea came from originally. My mum is pretty creative though and better at art and probably paid more attention to me when I was doing anything creative so that probably contributed.

I guess the biggest issue too with the genre of video I make is sometimes people will just leave comments that are excessively positive to the point of it being very confusing to me lol. Like:

The effort you're putting into your videos is unbelievable. You deserve millions of views!
And it's nice, but I don't think that video deserved millions of views honestly lol.

This was on a different video:

This person deserves like 400k views per video.
That is what I expect from this person
Even that seems high. I know all kinds of things can get that number of views but quality wise.

But yeah this is also not a productive/useful way of thinking I guess. Because doing nothing is even worse. I mean remember that era where you cried to this song:

But no one can stare at the wall as good as you, my baby-doll
And you're aces for coming along
    You're almost human, after all

The pattern's laid out on the bed
With dozens of colors of thread
    But you've got the needle
I guess that's the point in the end

But it's better to waste your day watching the scenery change at a comatose rate
Than to put yourself in it and turn into one of those cigarette ads that you hate

I'm pretty sure it's about a drug addict but a lot of people weirdly took a similar thing from it that I did (though I've never been on meds):

This song could be written about me. I have severe mental issues and am highly creative. To stay alive I have to take meds that turn me into a zombie. To be uniquely creative, I have to be off my meds. I spend a lot of time staring at walls wishing I could create. I have friends but they have mostly given up on trying to get me to go out.... That which I live for is not enough to keep me alive. That which keeps me alive (drugs) stops me from doing what I live for....
    Quote Sylvia Plath
I wanted each and every one of them, but choosing one meant losing all the rest, and, as I sat there, unable to decide, the figs began to wrinkle and go black, and, one by one, they plopped to the ground at my feet."
and it seems to help some people who are struggling with depression or stressful or boring moments in life so again better than nothing I guess.

As for the video game trend lol blame Lana Del Rey I guess. (Not really though.)
