I gotta remember to do my laundry tomorrow.
I may be an asshole, but at least I have a shred of human decency in me. But just a shred.
It's almost 3AM, I should probably go to sleep. :/

"If it's true that our species is alone in the universe, then I'd have to say the universe aimed rather low and settled for very little." — George Carlin
Hmmm, weird. I wonder if the world is about to turn upside down.
Fudge. I didn't do my laundry. Today hasn't been productive.
Yep. I'm just trying to make sense of my life presently. Thank you for caring though. I appreciate it.
I read a lot of women's biographies from other countries and yes, their stories are very moving. I've often felt like history is best told in memoirs and biographies because your are able to participte in the person's fears and emotions.
The Hokey Pokey IS what it's all about
That's good to hear Are there any biographies you would recommend?
Somaly Mam's autobiography was on her life being caught in a human trafficking ring in Cambodia. Disturbing, horrific, and harrowing. Just when you think you've discovered the most disgusting bowels of humanity on earth, something worse presents itself. (Somaly leaves me speechless with her strength- it's so hard to comprehend for me).
Evelyn Lau's biography was also good, but it's focused less on events and more on her thoughts and musings. A 14yo girl who ran away from home to live on the streets (of my own hometown!). It's a thick book, quite rambly and boring at some points, but her personality was a draw for me. There's no mincing of words, and no attempts to be "above it all".
Although it's also hard to describe them as "inspiring" because that somehow implies some kind of justification of what they went through.. or that anything that I go through could even come close.
Let's see if I can remember some of them
Lucky child by Loung Ung( growing up in Cambodia)
When broken glass floats by Chanrithy Him (growing up in what used to be Burma)
My forbidden face by Latifa ( growing up in the taliban)
Princess by Jean Sasson
Inside the kingdom by Carmin Bin Laden
Left to tell by Immaculee Ilibagiza and Steve Erwin
The Hokey Pokey IS what it's all about
Almost time to take my balls out of my purse, and stop procrastinating.
Grab your jacket
It's what matters that counts.

Shiiiieeeet. A good online friend sent me a giant package, and its just arrived. Cue scrambling online with my credit card to find the order that was meant to be sent as his and his wife's Christmas gift a few weeks ago...
