The fact that you think it's a, "bullshit statistic" says a lot about the bias faced by a mentally ill person today from someone like you. It's the exact same bias I would be working to dispell by having a bumper sticker like that on my truck

You're reaching way too far on the analogy. Did I say kill mentally ill people? I said take away their guns.

And yea, cougars kill people so we should put some precautions in place to keep cougars from killing people and from people killing cougars

Unfortunately, in this one instance, I don't care. I would take the guns away from mentally ill people in a heartbeat if it kept guns away from the minority of mass killers

I have to agree with you though. Not because of the shootings though. Probably because I've seen some not so pleasant things when people are having a bad time mentally wise. Generally though, this is when they're off there meds, the first time they had an episode. Since theres literally no way if predicting whether a person will have a mental illness episode such as a psychotic one, it would be pretty much impossible to control the guns.

I live in a country where I'll be arrested if I own a gun though, mentally ill or not. Nevertheless, I can't see how depression or anxiety is going to mean the person is significantly more likely to shoot someone. People with psychotic, homicidal disorders, or severe personality disorders...I can see why banning them from getting a gun is a good idea. I thought they were banned pretty much anyway. Otherwise I'm gonna find it really odd that they can't drive a car in case they think they're a formula one driver and cause an accident...but they can own a gun?
