    Texting My Therapist

Does anyone else text or email their therapist? I know some are against it since they're not being reimbursed for their time or they expect you to call them only if the situation is dire enough. I text mine occasionally to cancel or reschedule our appointments. But out of desperation today, I texted her for help with my obsessions/compulsions (I have bad OCD.)

Me: How do I stop obsessing again, I forgot?
Therapist: Find something else to do or interact with a real person.

Thats what we discuss about during our sessions, but it was funny to see that in text form. I think seeing that helped me relieve some of my obsession anxiety.

Sigh, not really I haven't had this experience but sometimes I look in my emails or chats mainly because I don't want to feel alone or something.

My therapist has wanted and encouraged me to email for years. In fact, since I'm not too good at actually speaking about my problems directly (to her) and I distract a lot in therapy, this has been the only way she was able to know what's going on with me. It seems that my alters have been emailing her for years about stuff that I wouldn't have told her. I'm not really good at knowing what's going on with my alters, so they had to have a voice too somehow. In fact, they each had their own email up until recently. I deleted them (long story), but it seems that one of them got pissed about the deletion and now there's another email that I didn't create.

I text and have emailed from their website.
If they are ok about it and I don't abuse it then no problems
