After a months-long investigation, a 30-year-old Bunnell, FL police sergeant was arrested Tuesday night and accused of posing as a 16-year-old girl on social media in order to solicit sexually graphic material from teen boys.
According to the St. Augustine Record, Michael Gerard Stavris II was charged with two felony counts of violating the Child Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act and one count of criminal use of personal identification information. The three felonies carry a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
The 6-foot-3, 400 pound Stavris — a former after-hours school cop in Jacksonville public schools — allegedly stole the identity of a 16-year-old girl to create a phony Facebook profile. He then friended teen boys he found attractive and enticed them into sexual talk. He sent the boys photos of women’s breasts in return for photos of the teens’ genitals.
Stavris promised to perform oral sex on the boys behind their schools in return for the explicit images.
