    Sounds to Sleep

Can't sleep? Listen to and create custom sounds to sleep to- rain, waves, crickets, waves and white noise music to help you fall asleep. This is pretty neat - I am sure there are many more like it but I really like this one

Like wise - this one http://thekidshouldseethis.com/post/...mpered-clavier is really nice to watch and listen to - really relaxing

I have an app on my ipod that plays sounds like that through headphones - white noise, waves, rain, etc. I quite like listening to the sound of an airplane engine for some reason when trying to sleep. It helps me a lot. They're really relaxing sounds.

The airplane engine is the sound that works for me too If you have a stereo, you can plug in your ipod and the sound will be much like the real thing.

Yeah I have a similar app, and I listen to the rain. It gives me ASMR.

I found out about the whole ASMR thing a few weeks back. Turns out there's a whole bunch of videos designed to trigger it. They're pretty relaxing to listen to. I watch them sometimes before I go to sleep and they help me relax.

A few days ago I was with my boyfriend, we stayed in his parents holiday mobile home on the west coast of Ireland. There was a weather warning as the wind was really high. Even though I knew I was safe I couldn't sleep at all, I found it very scary. I wonder if the effects between the real thingy and these sounds is any different

The thunderstorm recordings I've heard used for relaxation / sleep don't usually sound violent.

For me, the AC in my bedroom helps tremendously. I know, but whatever works.

I've been using a fan for years. Even in Winter.

I got one of these from amazon (pretty cheep) My birds however find it most amusing and will be very loud to almost all the sounds when it's suppose to be night time -- so I can't use it to try to fall asleep!!

I like a variety of sounds, my Significant Other has to use a fan and I've grown used to it. I prefer nature sounds, helps turn my brain off and allows me to sleep.

Mixture of normal radio talk shows and a radio scanner for listening in to the emergency services.

Here is a good site: Ambient sounds to wash away distraction. Thunderstorm, rain, ambient sounds....
