Credit: Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope/CoelumGalaxy NGC 772 shows signs of being pulled apart after interacting gravitationally with another galaxy. The other galaxy has pulled apart the spiral arms of NGC 772, while the external spiral arms vanish in the intergalactic medium. Image released January 2013.

I must say, it's amazing and surreal thinking about how such a thing exists... galaxy, space.......etc etc etc. Tad bit mind boggling..

Isnt the milky way on a collision course too? This is sadly the same fate out own galaxy might face...now I just need to cryogenically freeze myself for a couple billion years to be alive to see it

It would be quite a site to see. Imagine at dusk watching the entire Andromeda galaxy rising. would love to see that for sure.
