    wpm...

i'd rather have a sitting typing job than a walking around one. i've heard the arguments for each so i don't want to have those rehashed here. i know what i want to do. i want to sit. to sit and type. which is why i've been trying to get faster. i improved a lot but im really (REALLY) inaccurate. however im hoping some kind of auto correction program could make that much less of a liability and shift the emphasis to speed. i used to be slow, a lot slower, but now i average in the mid nineties (with occasional peaks in the lower teens in the hundreds).

That sounds great. I'd want a good keyboard with a comfortable chair and everything. I like the one on my laptop. It's much easier than my last to clean because of the way that the keys are designed. I don't have to worry as much about bread crumbs and stuff.

Your score: 472 CPM (that is 94 WPM)

Your score beats or equals 97.58% of all!

Congratulations! You typed all 92 words correctly!

It suggested for me to take a 2 minute break.

this is now my wpm BOASTING thread where i boast about the highest wpms i achieve, and by boast i just mean post the results, as i don't think any explanation for the boasting is really needed. what would need more of an explanation is if you didn't boast about results like these. that wouldn't even be modesty it would suggest something like being oblivious, but why were you so oblivious, i would want to know and that would need an explanation.

Your score: 611 CPM (that is 122 WPM)

In reality, you typed 674 CPM, but you made 10 mistakes (out of 124 words),

I can type a lot faster than that test leads me on to think, which was a paltry ~70WPM. I find them annoying in the fact that you are not typing sentences, just random words. I can type a lot faster if I've got a coherent sentence in my mind.

i think tests like this take some practice to get used to, but once you adapt (or because i've taken it so many times, grow accustomed to the words the test is comprised of) then the ordering doesn't really slow you down so much.

i used to get 70-80 on this test, but then once i tried to improve and willed myself to go faster and read the words more streamed together, then i improved. it worked. but still mostly i can only achieve high scores during certain times of the day, or when i've had caffeine, or something. usually i can't consistently make it to 100 wpm in a series of attempts, but then on occasion im hitting 100+ wpm every time, sometimes in significant excess of 100, it's intriguing. or as intriguing as the analysis of ones performance on such tests can be i suppose. but to me that's pretty damn intrigued. like why can't i type so fast all the time? what's the secret to these windows of faster typing? i wonder.
