    hello there.

I was officially diagnosed with gad/pad in high school. Made it through college, grad school and built a career by sheer determination, a whole lot of support from my family and spouse, a few angels masquerading as psychologists, & modern pharmaceuticals. Some upcoming huge life changes have thrown me into a huge anxiety tail spin abd I am struggling to hold it together. Hoping not to go on an ssri while knowing I probably should abd thought talking to people who get it might help.

Happy to have found this place!

Hi Wanda, and welcome (again )

It sounds like you've been struggling for awhile, but have not allowed it to get you down. Kudos on making it through grad school and getting a career going. I know how tough that is to do while struggling with these kind of things. Not fun, huh?

A lot of the members here are in college and so they can relate to trying to put on a "normal" face to the outside world, while fighting the pain inside that goes along with anxiety, ptsd, and other issues.

Anyway, welcome again. I hope you are able to find relief here through sharing.

Hi Wanda. sleeping pills helped me were a short term solution, SSRIs made me more whacko and require longer term duration

This is so true. Sometimes I think my anxiety is a thing of the past and then year or two down the line bam there is is. Just like the song whoop there it is, whoop there it is.
