    Experience Taking Zoloft?

I've been taking 25 mgs of Zoloft for my Panic Disorder for the past several months. I've noticed some symptoms that went away over time, but there are new ones now. For example, the first month or two, once I took my Zoloft, I was asleep a half hour later. No exceptions. It knocked me out. Now it doesn't do that. I do think it may affect my appetite a bit. I would blame it on my Adderall, but a lot of the time if I eat late and end up taking my Zoloft before my meal (I take my Zoloft at 8 PM) I'm not very hungry. My Adderall's definitely worn off before then. I've also been warned that SSRIs can increase feelings of depression. For the past several weeks I've been dealing with that. I've felt tired, hopeless, and lacked motivation. It's mostly a problem at night, which wouldn't be a problem if said hopelessness didn't make it hard to sleep, but there have been days it's bothered me during the day as well. There was one day where I couldn't force myself out of bed and I kept breaking down in tears periodically through the day. Has anyone else experienced this while taking Zoloft? Any advice?

How long have you been taking the zoloft for? Antidepressant medications, particularly SSRI's, can you make you feel better before they make you worse, but that should go within a month at the longest. If it's been longer than that, then you need to go back to your doctor and tell him what the side effects are. If the zoloft is giving you the increased suicidal thoughts side effect, then you definitely need to go back and see him, and get off the zoloft.

I haven't had this on zoloft, but I had this on celexa, another SSRI. I had to come off it and try another medication. In the end, you have to decide whether the good that the medication is doing is worth the side effects if there are any, and if it isn't, then you need to ask to try another (and there are plenty of them.)

I believe I started it in April. I don't remember exactly. It wasn't a problem until recently. Like, within the past two or three weeks. I'm not experiencing suicidal thoughts, but there is more depression. Like I said, mostly a problem at night. And a bit of a feeling of being disconnected. The medication's working really well though. I'm pretty much not having any panic attacks whatsoever, and if I do have them, they're really mild in comparison to what I had before.

I gotta tell you, I HATE Zoloft. I've been taking it for over two weeks and it's HELL. My anxiety is worse than it's ever been and I feel like at any moment I could wind up back in the hospital with an IV of Ativan like I have twice before. Also since I started taking it, I've felt a hollow feeling in my chest like someone's carved my heart out of me. This is the worst medication ever, in my opinion.
