    rejoining

Hi, I used to post on her once in a while, under the name merc, but I have not been on her for a long time. I kind of gave up on the internet this summer. My now 13 year old daughter is exhibiting signs of anxiety and I'm really worried. She was once so bubbly and happy, but today she refused to eat in a restaurant because she didn't like the atmosphere. I see her scared to shake hands with people. She even refuses to visit her grandmother and prefers to wait in the car. Everything I do or say is wrong.

I hate to see this. I think she is way worse than I was; ..perhaps not...? Anyway, thats why I decide to rejoin and I forgot all my old log in details. I'm older and sometimes not the best at anything computer related.

Hi merc (Deg) Welcome back! It's hard when it's your kid. Believe me, I worry about my last son too.

Is she your oldest? If so, the "everything you do or say is wrong" thing might be a phase. I know 13 year old girls can go through a rough ride with emotions.

If anything, we can at least give you some support.

The best thing you can do with your daughter is to help her get help and support. Also,

Welcome back merc. Gotta be hard when it's your kid going through this

As Jerry said, best you can do is get her some help and support for the anxiety. Perhaps a support group might help her as well. It's a lot easier to think that you're the only one who's struggling with anxiety issues. It may help her if she met other people her age who are going through similar problems to her.

    Welcome back.

Definitely monitor your daughter. 13 is a weird age. That's when m anxiety started. She needs to learn skills to undo the anxious thoughts.

    Hi
    welcome back.

sounds like your daughter could benefit from maybe some therapy, I think the worst thing for me was not knowing why I felt anxious..I guess it's harder at a young age too.
in my opinion therapy may help her, and while she is young could be a good idea...
    good luck...
