Always found it weird how many porn bots are on tumblr of all places. I don't really get this on other social media (or maybe just pay less attention.) But I'm always being followed by these accounts with no posts and some random female avatar. Also random messages throughout the years and it's like Tumblr. OK there are a lot of [BEEP] people on the site but it's still mostly women who predominantly use ao3 and probably r/GWASapphic puppygirl audio stuff (I don't actually know what tumblrinas do besides ao3. Especially since tumblr unwisely banned the porn,) and those kind of accounts surely target straight men more often (one of the least likely demographics to be on the site.) Just weird lol.

And for whatever reason lately I've had a bunch of them following me on both of my active tumblr accounts.

Not long after I came across all those guys complaining I was looking through audio porn as I do because huge auditory degenerate (shocking I know given the listening to music obsession,) and I came across something created by a guy where he's talking to his hypothetical girlfriend in the audio (or he's talking to the listener but I'm incapable of self inserting into most of these things especially if there's no strapon sex and/or it isn't sapphic though even then sometimes. I listened to the audio and I just imagined his fictional girlfriend the entire time being there. And for some reason his girlfriend that my brain invented was Asian but why? She wasn't even supposed to be there lmfao. Not sure if most people struggle with this probably not.) And he gets jealous as his girlfriend starts unboxing a bunch of kpop stuff she ordered online and she starts talking about her favourite member of the group then the whole audio is basically him proving that he's better and involves the listener praising him because he has a praise kink and I LOL'd so hard. Because I love it when the porn starts to do that. So funny. And this was so blatantly connected to this particular social issue.

Also the increasing insecurity about this is a little odd to say the least. It's not like famous crushes are a new thing and I can't imagine really caring if I was dating someone and they were into some famous person. I mean what are the chances of anything happening with them? And also with the current climate it's now harder than ever for guys in bands to sleep with fans because there's a lot of discourse/shaming etc about that now because of the 'unequal power relationship between artist and fan.' Also applies to YouTubers. It's not the 70s anymore. I'd guess they're just bothered by more intense parasocial relationships but then if you don't distract them from that it's probably because they're not that into you true.

About 6 months ago, my GF (we are both in our mid-late 20s) got into the Kpop group BTS through her friends. But it quickly evolved from being a new favorite musical artist to a full blown obsession. Her twitter has become what she calls a "stan account" where she tweets about them all day long.

She also "thirst tweets" all the time which is really problematic to me, because anyone in a serious relationship shouldn't be "thirst tweeting" about other guys, whether they're celebrities or not.

Somehow a weird modern problem lol? I dunno when I was actually in relationships I wasn't really obsessing about any famous guys during that time but I was also busy with a social life and very insane uni work schedule which distracted me. I also feel like there's some overlap for some people with autistic special interests and other forms of neurodivergence and special interests tend to annoy everyone regardless of what they are but probably especially annoying for guys if their girlfriend's special interest is a kpop group. I would mostly just keep that to myself or create social media others didn't know about.

I went to uni with a woman in her late 20s who was just like this. She had BTS photos and sticky notes all over her desk and hijacked a group presentation project to make it all about BTS which she then filmed for her BTS YouTube channel, and when we were getting a class photo she held up her phone with a photo of them on it so it would be included in the photo. She was some sort of moderator of an online fan page and constantly spoke about the arguments she?d get into with trolls. She's the most cringeworthy human I've ever met in my life and I don't understand what it is about BTS that makes grown [BEEP] adults act this way.

^ yeah again this sounds like someone neurodivergent. Like male special interests tend to be very idiosyncratic and odd so they stand out more and a lot of autistic women aren't diagnosed. So they have special interests like BTS instead of trains or maths etc. It can be very difficult to control. But now I am wondering what it is about BTS that might potentially appeal to autistic women lol. I know a lot of autistic people were into Japanese pop culture and anime when I was younger though (and well the anime thing no doubt still applies,) probably now they're more likely to be into Korean culture? BTS are the most popular kpop band I guess atm which attracts attention.

The age range is 25-44 or something like that from what I remember. Another statistic I've seen is 51% by age 30 I think that's the UK though, but that's not the same age range/statistic. I really doubt it's going to reach 80% in that time frame based on the rate the childless population has grown in recent decades but will depend on future technology etc.

I'd sort of lost interest but that just kind of made me interested again. I had a date with him in a dream once lol. (I think anyway or we were walking back from somewhere.) If you were somebody else, what would be different? If everything is physically the same and that person is conscious. The world would be just as it is now if you were them. You're old body would still be conscious in the exact same way that you were. There is no difference. Consciousness is experiencing it either way.

If what's happening on social media happens on a wide scale the society those people live in (since the internet is global,) will collapse. That's going to be predominantly the US and to a lesser but significant extent other Anglosphere countries followed by other Western countries. You can have a society where there's a massive tribal divide between two political parties, or two tribal groups in general. (Up to a point anyway it's not ideal.) You can't have a society where both sexes hate each other. So if this expands past a point (and it's almost impossible to tell where that point is too again thanks to how the internet works,) things will just collapse. It's probably not a huge concern - it's hard to say as I said, but people, including influential people, treat it like it is. (I say as I write about the same thing over and over again lol. No it's just a special interest obviously.)

Also part of the problem might be that most of the 'right' are determined to exaggerate the differences between the sexes alongside shitting on trans people. Firstly the thing where people just say 'yall' even when they're not from the South of the US because they're part of that online bubble is irritating probably because the people who speak that way usually have dumb opinions and a very specific ideological viewpoint. Sounds about right. I don't think there is an issue with having very polarised aesthetics. Especially as visual stuff is more superficial than personality differences and values. It's also more exaggerated in urban environments than rural. The issue is more with social pressure being applied to try and coerce people into being a certain way.

I grew up in the 2000s being mildly non-conforming. I didn't wear makeup but still had longish hair. So anyway. It's difficult to really figure out what's happening on a wider scale outside that bubble. Something is happening because you can see that statistically and I think there are probably lots of things contributing to that. The political polarisation mapping onto gender is probably the strongest evidence that a divide there in recent decades must be leading to issues beyond the social media/activist bubble.

Yesterday I went out for a walk to this little wooded area that's next to this large mansion (not the one I'm talking about before. It's not important to clarify but I seem to be anyway lol.) On the way there there's this little road next to some houses with a path next to the road that's wider than typical. You can only stop economic migrants by making their host countries more economically appealing to disincentive them from moving (or well you can't because you don't have control.) Thinking about it more, I may actually be wrong. If we're talking about being born as somebody else, I think it makes sense. But if we're talking about turning into someone else, it would be true that you used to be another person, so there is a difference there. You would no longer be experiencing what the old body was.
