For instance there was a big pile of chicken soup that said 5 for 5 dollars. So I figured they should be 1.00 each, I grabbed one. But when I got to the register it rang up at 1.50 but the only reason why I picked it up at all was because the sign said 5 for 5 dollars. the cashier held it up said it was the "healthy" kind and this kind is not on sale even though it was sitting on the sale display. I got annoyed and told them I didn't want it because I kind of feel like it is a little scammy.
IS that crazy of me? To consumers it is only 50 cents here 50 cents there....to a grocery store 50 cents actually ends up equally a lot of money and profit over time.
I always use chicken carcasses to make stock and then soup, 3-4 meals for a couple dollars is pretty cheap. No shame in being frugal.
That $1.50 vs. 5 for $5 thing does seem kinda scammy, like they're trying to unload a bunch of cheap crap.
