    Surgery

I cannot believe this is happening to me right now.
I feel disgusting, first of all, and even though I'm on painkillers I still think I'm going to pass out...
I went home sick from college early this morning with horrible stomach pain, nausea/throwing up, and a 102.5 degree fever, and I couldn't pee. An hour later I was on the bathroom floor screaming and crying.
Went to the ER and it turns out I have mild appendicitis. I'm having surgery tomorrow morning because I can't have any food or drink in my system and need an IV/antibiotics overnight. It's not a major emergency but it still needs to be removed. But God this is disgusting and I can't believe I didn't find this out sooner. Apparently it can happen over the course of a few hours...
I'd been having trouble peeing and my stomach was hurting the last few days, nauseous off and on but I had no idea it was from anything other than anxiety and stress. Now I see why I've been stressed out.
    And this. This sucks.
I'm mildly OK right now but I'm typing this from the hospital on my phone so forgive me if there are any spelling errors because I'm insanely uncomfortable at the moment.
I'm not going to be very "with it" for the next few days so I might disappear for a while. My email is kendall.oconnell20@yahoo.com if anyone has any further questions for me (I promise I'll be OK) and I can respond quicker to emails because they don't take long to check on my phone.
I should be fully recovered in 2 weeks but I won't be back in school or at work for a while. I'll be in the hospital for a few days.
Wish me luck, I feel miserable

Surgery is always an unsettling prospect, but "luckily" this is a pretty common one. You'll be fully recovered before you know it.

As inscruitable banana said, this is luckily, a common one, and your appendix is really not needed. As for not catching it earlier...generally, we are not going to notice symptoms that are pretty common. If we vomit or have stomach pains, we may not think it anything other than food poisoning, or some sort of bug. It is not your fault for not catching it earlier.

It doesn't sound like "mild" appendicitis. Luckily you went to the hospital when you did. Get better soon.

Yikes. That does not sound like fun. >.<
Well at least you're in the right place now and they know what the issue is. I'm sure you'll make a quick recovery. Good luck!

You'll be fine, it's a very common surgery. My daughter had her's out a couple of years ago, when she was 11. You'll be out and back to normal before you know it. Get well soon.

    Hey everyone,
    Just an update...
Surgery went well. I'm feeling alright now, just sleepy and a little nauseous, but the feeling should go away soon. I've been home for a couple of hours and I'm lucky the hospital stay wasn't longer than it needed to be and that everything was dealt with quickly and easily. Should be recovered in 10 days - 2 weeks and they said we'll just have to play it by ear with school and work, but 3-5 weeks looks like an appropriate time before I have to go back.
I'm just hoping I'll never to have to go through something like that again
Now the hard part is going to be keeping off the weight I worked so hard to lose, since I'm going to be out of commission for so long...
