I highly doubt that's true, although I know it can certainly feel that way. I've been feeling a rather overwhelming sense of loneliness for a while, and in an amusingly horrible sort of way the more I try and seek out interaction with people online the more lonely and exhausted I seem to end up feeling. Haven't had any local friends in over a decade, either.
