    Hair color...?

I cut my hair the other day and my natural color is showing through a lot. I naturally have dark reddish-brown hair but I've been dyeing it black since I was 12 (I usually let people think I naturally have black hair but I don't). I really have no reasoning for it other than the fact that I just really like it black. One day I just literally decided I wanted black hair. I'm really pale so it looks good. I also dye my eyebrows LOL otherwise I wouldn't be matching xD
I'm thinking I want to do something different this time though... I was thinking of going for blue. Like dark purplish blue
Don't worry, if I dye it blue, I'll leave the eyebrows alone. That would just be weird.
My mom would kill me but I'm living with my bf and she can't do anything now, muahahaha.
    Should I do it?

When I was your age, I had 24 earrings (12 on both sides), red streaks, drastically changed my hair color every 2 months.

I thought I got away with it because I was considered "cool!"

In hindsight, I see now that what reputation I was really building was "irresponsible, flaky, can't take her seriously." I've spent a lifetime doing damage control. Thank goodness my work has over ridden people's assumptions of who I am.

I remember you saying you're a manager. Not sure what you manage, but I guarantee the teens and young adults will think your blue hair is great. And I can assure you that your higher ups when it's time for a promotion, will make assumptions about you like "no common sense, can't be trusted with responsibility, etc."

It's nothing against you or your decision. It's telling you that somewhere in our 30's people forget how fun life can be. They fall into the "norm" and judgmental thinking. I don't know, I guess in their 30's they determine what the world should look like and set out to make everyone conform to it.

Ultimately it's your body and your choice. I wouldn't trade my "crazy get up" days for anything. When I tell the teens what I used to do, my street cred goes up dozens of points. I just don't tell the old fogies what I did.

Oops. Wish I had seen your response, Chanty, before I went ahead and tried it
Long story short, it came out pretty horrible. It stayed brown for the most part but there were purplish-bluish streaks in it >.<
I re-dyed it about an hour ago and went blue-black instead, eyebrows and all. The blue isn't super noticeable unless it's in certain lighting. I've had this color before. I had done jet-black the last time.
My eyebrows came out like crap but they'll fix up. I hope.
Here's a pic (with weird lighting) so you guys can see what I'm talking about with the blue-black:

Ignore the drunk dorm-mate. It's finals week, LOL. I tried to crop him out but yeah. I needed an excuse to take a selfie so... he was used. Haha.

It looks great! I was imagining light blue streaks like I've seen people wear.

Blue hair grows out so if you don't like it then it's not a problem because it's temporary. Having stated that I think orange root/ hombre red tipped is more summery

You have to bleach your hair first to get the color to take. It is best to have a beauty school student do it or go to a salon and get it done properly.
