I watched a movie the other night that was dubbed. Too distracting, subtitles all the way.

Can I just add though - dubbed for the lulz? Because sometimes that adds comedic value. If you're looking for anything other than a cheap laugh though, subbed is the only way to go.

I love watching old mexican soap operas dubbed into portuguese.. it's usually so badly done, it's hilarious Not to mention that those mexican soaps are so cheap and melodramatic

Subtitles 100%. But I happen to think dubbed movies are frigging hilarious

Dubbed is so way better. Like the old Godzilla movies. Their mouths move for 30 seconds and then you hear about 20 seconds later "No." The fun is watching the sync go haywire.

I never watch a movie for the plot value. They have to make me laugh and go Wow! when they do amazing special effects.

What can I say? I have simple minded taste in movies.

I'll take a proper dub any day of the week.

With that said I've gone through 3 different anime series in the past month or so and they've been pretty decent subbed. Maybe my views are shifting as we speak...who knows.

And you said you're moving to France? They probably even dub songs there.

Well yes they dub pretty much everything here in France, so my gf and I usually go to Switzerland (Geneva is just a 15 minute drive away from where we live) when we wanna go to the movies. My gf is french but she can't stand dubbed movies
