I think when people watch people who have very little to say and then just 'react' to stuff it must be either that they find the person attractive or like a general parasocial loneliness thing where they just want the illusion psychologically of watching something with someone else. I suppose I can't fault them for that if it helps them cope with atomisation and loneliness of our current culture.
The creators should have more thoughts about what they're reacting to though. Not a problem I'd generally have lol. I have 3949302590325803 thoughts about everything but I don't make reaction content myself.
There was a video someone made with content similar to my own where the creator used a lot of footage from other's videos without giving credit. They included a thumbnail of one of my videos but not sure if there were any clips or not but they didn't credit anyone. They have since started crediting people in newer videos though at least. They also added a bunch of their own commentary so it wasn't just reuploading. More of a video essay than reaction content.
Most people have either asked me or given credit when including clips of my videos in theirs although generally they are part of the same community and not super popular channels. Not some random low effort reaction channel like these.
At one point they point out that their level of lazyness is impressive and honestly I thought that earlier lol. Like I am the laziest, most unmotivated person ever and yet put in a considerable amount more effort into my YouTube content lol. I have been bested.
Oh well obviously. I wrote her off after watching her debate with nominalnaomi where she decides to just start talking about how 'black people enjoyed being slaves' because of a 'Matt Walsh' documentary. She also seems almost exactly like Justpearlythings with the same arguments and opinions on topics including this slavery viewpoint, and right down to the haircut as I mentioned in another post recently lol.
Oh nevermind they did bring Naomi up later in the video lol. Yeah that debate was crazy.
Lol yeah the thing where they get really pissed off by people pointing out killer's pronouns. No OK then let's play that game. Let's misgender all killers because they did a bad thing. Let's refer to every male killer using she/her pronouns now. No? I didn't think so lol.
Actually in the case of that trans school shooter it's important to keep clarifying that they are not a trans woman specifically because people hear 'trans' and just think 'trans woman' and did with him as they do with most afab trans people. But no they were GENETICALLY FEMALE/AFAB so I spent a lot of time on twitter telling people that at the time, because people commit violence against trans women occasionally and others on the basis of assuming they are trans women because of their hatred towards trans women which includes a complex assuming trans women are all violent/predators.
Woman with dementia, 86, beat up by thug and put in wheelie bin because he thought she was trans"It has impacted her life in a major way and significantly reduced her quality of life," he said.
He added that his mother had become obsessed with her "near-death experience", regularly repeating the words, "please stop killing me" and "are you trying to kill me?"
She also suffered bouts of physical shaking, which have since improved, did not sleep well, and has had to move into a nursing home due to "fall risks", he said. The really gross thing about this story is it's not clear whether he said he thought she was trans to get a shorter sentence or no sentence because in the US you can occasionally get away with murder if you're a straight guy and you tell a court a trans woman or feminine gay man tricked you into having sex with them.Bailey?s lawyers told the court he had "induced psychosis" after taking a significant number of intoxicants, and was under "the delusional belief that the victim was a predatory pedophile" and a male dressed as a female.
They added that their client was deeply sorry for the pain and suffering he caused and that he had ?10,000 (approximately 8,700 pounds) with him at sentencing to offer as a token of his remorse. MacGowan rejected the money and it will reportedly be donated to a hospital where she received treatment after the attack.
The judge sentenced Bailey to three years in prison, backdating it to when he was taken into custody and suspending the final six months on a number of conditions, including good behaviour for two years post-release, abstaining from drugs and alcohol, and attending to an addiction centre for a year.
More depressing still or at least equally depressing - most people don't give a [BEEP] until you point out 'oh no cis women are being violently assaulted now too.'
Tbf some of these people I view as grifters who just flip flop constantly probably actually just have or additionally have borderline personality disorder. I can think of at least one person like that who is diagnosed. So yeah the internet is probably a nightmare for people with BPD in particular. Though some of them are likely suffering with NPD as well. And obviously other mental health issues.
All of this is why I think if you struggle with mental health issues a lot you probably shouldn't make your content that you get money off of (which in many cases is people's primary mode of income too,) something that's deeply personal and centred around yourself. You will get trapped in this hellish feedback loop if you do.
