Yeah, they were really popular at the time. That music video was always playing on TV. The guitar riff was one of the first ones I learned. I never delved into their music. Those are the only 2 songs from them that I know. I used to only listen to what was on the radio or TV (and some CDs) at the time.

Here's another song that instantly takes me back:

Yeah before the late 2000s I would only really learn about music by watching music channels (which I did a lot,) or listening to radio stations like Kerrang radio which we had on TV after we got 'freeview' when I was about 11, (before then our TV only had 5 channels lol.) Later I got a digital radio so I could listen to Kerrang on that in my room, but I don't think I ended up using it much or maybe it didn't work properly can't remember. We only had the radio station on TV though they also had a music channel which my friend had because her parents had subscription TV and I remember visiting her and watching that with her one time and thought how cool it would be because I liked watching music videos as well but we only had 2 music channels that mostly played pop music except during the brief times when they'd have some rock music evening or something. Luckily some rock music was in the mainstream then so they'd sometimes play that too like some Green Day tracks (I mostly liked to listen to rock and metal music as a teenager.)

Other than that I think I discovered the band Garbage from AOL music because at one point one of their albums was available for free to listen to on that for some reason (I liked some of the tracks from that album but didn't really become a big fan or buy any of their albums.) Also sometimes I'd discover bands and music from forum posts and video games. Skateboarding games in particular usually had soundtracks I liked.

I used to listen to CD's too and would usually just buy albums if I liked a few singles. I think with one Jack off Jill album I either read a forum post about them or just randomly bought a CD because I liked the cover (I can't remember now.) They were never very popular or played anywhere here, and I bought their album 4-5 years after they broke up on top of that, but I'm glad I did because that ended up being one of my favourite albums. I also learnt the bassline to this song using guitar tabs online but I only had non-bass guitars (acoustic and later electric,) and couldn't distinguish guitar and bass at all while listening to music at the time lol...

    Same with this track:

that's a guitar, not a bass. The bass can hardly be heard in this song
Nope never mind I'm still confused lol but tbf the bassline is basically the same as the guitar. Also everyone brings up the Killing Joke song:

    Reminds me of this:

Kind of sad I didn't just buy more random albums back in the day. I could do that now but it feels different and even when I buy CD's now I just end up listening to the music on YouTube later or MP3 because I use my computer to listen to music now.

Oh yeah and I guess I also discovered some bands and musicians growing up because my dad listened to them like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers (though they were also on music channels at the time,) and Nirvana (again same as with Red Hot Chili Peppers they never really went out of fashion.)

The only Incubus song I remember is this one which I liked:

    Oh wait and this song:

(there might be others I forgot about potentially as well.)

I recently stumbled on this YouTube video about dick size (this is prob a bit tmi but then a lot of my posts are):

12 inches? Wtf? I remember when 9 was huge. Like some weird form of inflation lol.

Also lol when she calls it unethical.

But then I was reading the comments and there's a lot going on there. I fell down a whole rabbit hole yesterday and then ended up on some related subreddits including one called bigdickproblems where there was this woman who I noticed was posting there and on related subreddits a lot who seemed to like cuckolding and big dicks etc and there was something a bit trolly about some of her posts.. I just thought this would be a great focus area for sadists and one thread was some guy talking about how he had a fetish for having his dick size humiliated but he actually had a big dick and his girlfriend was struggling to play along and all I thought was she should read some of the comments on the above YouTube video lol for inspiration except it would be big dick humiliation. (I had some additional ideas too but it comes easier because I'm into role reversal generally.) Also seemed weird that he didn't mention whether she was into that herself since it's not going to be for most people...

But back to the comments on that YouTube video I noticed this:

It's almost like the average man and the average woman evolved together to be physiologically compatible.
    Tell that to African men
Man you guys have got to get over this.

I see this kind of thing everywhere though and there's a bunch of stuff that's kind of connected like the worship of Andrew Tate among young boys, the fixation with hip hop now in the music industry - I describe it as a singularity because with rare exception almost all mainstream music now is hip hop or strongly influenced by it (I don't dislike hip hop/like some of it but at what cost lol?) The constant insecurity about dick size, the envy and insecurity many white men have about this one specific stereotype of black men and I do say stereotype because they're not thinking of this guy or Prince who was 5'2" btw:

The peculiar desexualisation of Asian men in total ironic contrast to the rampant fetishisation by women (though I think ignorance of that is decreasing a bit now I mean after BTS were invited to the fucking White House even some white men have to take notice):

To answer the above video at some point the music industry in multiple countries realised they could just optimise incredibly boring music for mass appeal and throw in some attractive softboy/androgynous guys and women and $$$ (so that's a feature not a bug and has also been a thing in Western music for at least 5 decades,) but no I̶'̶m̶ ̶d̶e̶m̶a̶n̶d̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶t̶t̶r̶a̶c̶t̶i̶v̶e̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶r̶o̶g̶y̶n̶o̶u̶s̶ ̶m̶e̶n̶ and good music. >: O why is there no emoji of this cause I have to leave a space with the text version so this forum doesn't auto change it.

^ some people seem to think he's androgynous and describe him that way. I don't really maybe mildly flamboyant for the time or something but the important thing is this song is really fucking great so I'm including him now anyway.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hptnSRvSmy8

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UG3VcCAlUgE

And by good music I mean good music and also most rock music and anything that sounds sufficiently creepy. Or anything that appeals to me for any number of subjective reasons.

    Lol (still hilarious):

The whole fear/fetishisation of cuckolding, the mass fear of emasculation. It's all really tedious and a huge turn off!

Thinking about this again because I rewatched part of this video:

Also thinking about this section of a Michel Houellebecq book I've never read called Atomised. I quoted this before and modified it slightly. Now I'm still modifying it but less than before if you google search the first paragraph you'll find everything I quoted though (except the last paragraph opps. Pirate the book):

It probably sounds strange now but in the seventies no-one really cared how big their dick was. When I was a teenager I had every conceivable hang-up about my body except that. I don't know who started it; queers probably. Although you find it in a lot of American cop shows but there's no mention of it in Sartre. Whatever, in the showers at the gym I realized I had a really small dick. I measured it when I got home--it was five inches, maybe five and a half or six if you measured right to the base. I'd found something new to worry about, something I couldn't do anything about; it was a basic and permanent handicap. It was around then that I started hating blacks.

There weren't many of them in the school--most of them went to the technical high school, Lycee Pierre-de-Coubertin, where the eminent Defrance did his philosophical striptease and propounded his pro-youth ass-kissing. I only had one in my class, a big, stocky guy who called himself Ben. He always wore a baseball cap and Nikes; I was convinced he had a huge dick. All the girls threw themselves at this [redacted] and here I was trying to teach them about Mallarme--what the [BEEP] was the point? This is the way Western civilization would end, I thought bitterly, people worshiping in front of big dicks.

This black guy was going out with the girl I would have chosen myself blonde, very pretty, with a childlike face and small firm tits. They were always holding hands in class. I always kept the windows closed while they were working -- the girls would get hot and take off their jumpers, their tee shirts stuck to their breasts; hidden behind my desk, I'd [redacted.]
Civilisations don't really end they just go out of fashion. We're mostly living in ancient Egypt right now.

Broke: We're living in Rome/the Weimar republic

Woke: you still can't even define what the [BEEP] you mean when you use this word

    Bespoke: Ancient Egypt:

Why do so many autistics like frogs?

I mean, I get liking/loving animals, and I have my own obsessions with dragons, but I see the frog obsession everywhere. Do frogs in particular have some kind of special symbolism? Are they mystical creatures? Are they just cute? Do they have amazing abilities?

I read somewhere that frogs have aided in autism research. Is this why? Someone help me understand, please.

ETA: For those curious about where I got the info from, you can go over to r/autism and search frogs and get endless posts on frogs. Also, there are people on Tumblr who share their like for frogs, too.
Dying 'tumblr' was just automatically treated as evidence of autistic people liking frogs. It's also funny because tumblr and 4chan are in a war over frogs and autism. This was posted on a subreddit for autism in women.

There's a thing about bisexuals and frogs, as well.
Well there's a connection between being autistic and being lgbtq+ so makes sense
This is another interesting overlap between autistic culture and [BEEP] culture
If you're not autistic yet you will be soon. But I encourage this because maga people and reactionaries and mostly trolls lol stole Pepe. This is what you get. You get #gaytumblrwomen. #memewar

Actually I'm into dragons lol... But moreso dragon elves (which I invented even if I didn't,) and dragon scale stuff, and other stuff adj to dragons and Spyro the Dragon.

^ just realised that was a response to Andrew Tate which makes it better/funnier.

Someone commented on that quote on one website saying 'that's absolutely a homosexual thing' (along with a bunch of other offensive language of course.)

Tbh though the only homosexual men I come across who are obsessed with masculinity are American. For a long while I thought most homosexual men had a hyper masculinity preference. Plus research kind of points in that direction:

Gay men have the strongest sexual attraction to the most masculinized male faces, according to a study recently published online in the journal "Archives of Sexual Behavior."

Led by Aaron N. Glassenberg, a doctoral student in organizational behavior at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and Harvard Business School, the study found that facial attraction depends on a person's gender rather than his or her sexual orientation.

According to the results, gay men prefer the most masculine faces and straight men prefer the most feminine faces.

In contrast, straight women are not necessarily attracted to the most masculinized male faces and lesbians are not always drawn to the most feminized faces, Glassenberg said.

Other research has shown that female preferences are influenced by a mixture of factors including ovulation, contraceptive use, self-esteem, and sex drive, he added.
Note the bolded doesn't hold up in later studies. There's actually a lot of research on this topic and psychology more generally that fails to replicate:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replication_crisis

But then when I hear homosexual men from the UK talk about their preferences or notice who they're dating it often seems less important. In fact some guy's preferences are fairly similar to mine 🤷 like:

I haven't polled every gay guy on the planet or even in the UK and US obviously but still.

Contrariwise at some point the 'female gaze' as I mentioned in a previous post just became androgynous and skinny guys and never mind I'm not going to link the video I was trying to find this looks like it might be funnier based on the thumbnail and video title:

It's true the female gaze is when glasses. Actually I think I shitposted a while ago on social media that the non-binary gaze was this:

That started to get negative attention from people who took it very seriously haha 'non-binary isn't even real >:[' so I stopped checking that post.

That post was mostly sponsored by:

    And:

(I constantly feel the need to point out that the lead singer + bassist isn't Geddy Lee. The gif is this is Burke Shelley.)

    And:

On the off chance that someone brings up that post anywhere no I didn't make it. I have no idea what you're talking about and I don't exist. I'm a figment of your cat's imagination 'I don't even have a cat' that's how insane you are.

OK I should probably link a video that actually goes into that more lol:

I haven't watched the anime video obviously and I don't even know if I finished watching the above video all the way through lol. Actually I usually do eventually but I think I was like 'not vibing I'm out.'

In keeping with the subtext of this post all three videos including this one I've stumbled on talking about the 'female gaze' were created by Asian women lmfao. Because the YouTube algorithm really favours that combination.

Yet not all women are into guys like that. Shockingly some women even want to [BEEP] Andrew Tate. This is when if I was posting this on twitter some pedantic guy would come along and point out that "actually Andrew Tate's face isn't that masculine so that doesn't contradict anything" and then an incel (I mean incel as in the brand/cult not incel as in the insult,) will explode from the paradox of the fact that he doesn't have a strong jawline. Which is the only thing that matters in life, besides possibly dick size.

It's so important that we even have 'energy' based on it. The only thing we know for sure is that he has 33 cars and is sexually attracted to bugattis:

I think they must be paying him (or suing him,) because I'd never heard of that car before he continuously brought it up. Well it would be funny if that were true but I actually learnt of its existence slightly before him while trying to figure out what Ashnikko was saying in this video:

I'm creepy crawly, I'm not sorry
Make 'em kiss my [BEEP] like thank you darling
My [BEEP] pleaser is a pink Bugatti
She's also sexually attracted to bugattis. It's an increasingly common sexual preference in our times. She's a better rapper than Andrew Tate though - it's not difficult but for the record.

When I was making my equally unnecessary post about 80s music I was really annoyed that a few songs were actually released in the late 70s like this:

The best Queen songs are also from the 70s like Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody and Don't Stop me Now.

And this track was released in 1991:

So I couldn't include them in the post but they're pretty good yes. Actually I only really like November Rain from 4 minutes onwards. The first half is fine but a bit boring for me.

Why is it every time I listen to "November Rain" by Guns and Roses I always fast forward to the last 3 minutes of the song?
    You get it.

Its hard for me to say what you like about that part of the song, but as a musician and songwriter, I can say from experience: repetition always makes a song more popular.

At the end of November Rain, Slash starts playing a solo phrase that repeats and repeats its like dance music It just keeps repeating - I think that may be why it seems like a "cooler" part of the song.
The solo is cool but my favourite part is actually the part from 7 minutes onwards where it gets more intense. (But the point about Repetition still applies. Also the solo starts about 4 minutes in so they might mean something else cause I just realised the op of the thread said the last 3 minutes of the song and not 3 minutes into the song lol.)

I didn't click on this video because I care about that streamer who everyone repeatedly talks about now and then but because Charlie appears to be in a weird location with #liminal lighting in the thumbnail:

    Take note YouTubers.

"I'm sure this is something a lot of you are moderately familiar with."

Not remotely. I just liked the lighting. The best parts of this video though I'm only a minute or 2 in are the lighting, that it's filmed in a hotel room because I like hotel rooms, Charlie's hair of course, and that his hotel room is probably haunted.

"This has nothing to do with the whole video but [talking about how his hotel room is probably haunted]"

Please continue. It actually would be really funny if someone actually had a video titled with some random drama and then just kept going off on random tangents that had nothing to do with it - ideally increasingly absurd, and then the video ends. That's clickbait but I support it when it's something I don't care about.

Oh wait no if moderately familiar with 'the thing' is just that she makes content that people often criticise as not being genuine reaction content then yeah I am familiar with that now also that other guy I vaguely remember being brought up now with more context (not someone I follow though so forgot his name.) Also she is a YouTuber. I almost wrote that but then corrected it to streamer. For some reason I thought she might be predominantly a twitch streamer she had that vibe.

    I watched this video before:

Uh I guess genuine reaction content is either video essays or you're a comedian (that seems to be where most people draw the line.) If you're not funny at all and/or you don't spend a lot of time editing + adding some personal insight and research on the topic then a lot of people are going to get annoyed. Moreso if you're also conventionally attractive. Tbf obviously creators will be pissed if your entire video is just someone else's video with you sitting there superimposed on top saying barely anything, and you didn't ask permission to use the footage, or even give credit which is happening with some channels, and you make tons of money from that. I've said this before but I don't really mind if people ask permission or give credit though even if they're a bigger channel (this has happened a few times with my videos.) I feel like the community I'm in is relatively good about that though (it's more like when people outside the community do stuff with that content sometimes.) I even had someone once ask me in my comment section if they could create a short from one of my videos lol just because they found part of the video funny which I appreciate but I feel like most people wouldn't ask.

And then there's the people who are making 'cringe content' obviously but I would like all those people to disappear from the platform tbh or make different videos.

In 2013, the British TV channel Channel 4 converted the reaction video format into a TV show through Gogglebox. In this reality show, families or groups of friends watching and discuss popular television broadcasts of the previous week in their own homes. The format was successful and spawned licensed adaptations in other television markets.
I don't watch this but my mum does, and again the only reason people like this show is because they select people who people find amusing or likeable so they form parasocial attachments. I'm not going to look but if I had to guess I imagine most people following sssniperwolf are probably there purely because they find her hot or anti-fans which is always a weak foundation that eventually will crumble into mass hate. First people envy you because you're conventionally attractive (especially if you're a woman and/or feminine,) and now you're doing something they find annoying on top of that and they feel like you have unearned privilege because of your looks and you haven't justified your appeal, and you're still being annoying and doing bad things which brings in other people who didn't initially care, and Charlie's hair and lighting, and so on. Sooner or later even I'm posting about this and it's hard to distract me from Jordan Peterson, rambling about gender + sexuality in general, and music these days. Not that you can avoid hate entirely and you can also attract it just by talking about yourself more than people like, opening up about mental health issues, and being a bit too vulnerable, but yeah.

Oh wait I just realised sssniperwolf is somehow the most subscribed to female YouTuber lol. That's actually insane and definitely explains why people are so salty about her in particular.

Oh and I imagine what that guy (jacksfilms I mean,) is doing with his YouTube content is annoying for her if he really makes that many videos about her (I haven't actually looked at any of that guy's reactions or really anything on this topic besides that Funkyfrogbait video - omg it's frogs again,) I generally think it's better to just like make one video and then not put anything else up on a big platform maybe two if you have a bunch more thoughts and it feels really important. If you're an obsessive person (and I am,) or just have 2343521523523532 thoughts constantly you need to at least separate that anonymously (that's how I'm justifying this some people do heroin I post on the internet.) That being said her reaction was really delusional (like at best delusional if she really didn't think about what she was doing, if not delusional than psychopathic,) and ironically exactly what funkyfrogbait was talking about in this video:

She justified it by saying she just wanted to talk but the first thing you could have done as Charlie mentioned is message him, following that turning up at his house is still really weird but you didn't have to post a photo of yourself for your millions of followers standing outside his house lol... Sort of explains this video I watched recently:

Based on how they reacted to whichever Paul brother decided to record and upload a dead body in Aokigahara (mostly by punishing smaller channels and completely changing their monetisation policy and other guidelines, while ironically later allowing whichever Paul brother it was to continue monetising his content...) I assume this genre is essentially going to die now one way or another.

OK this should have been a new post.

    Yeah this is an improvement.

Was that a Deftones t-shirt too? I mean I know it was lol but that's cool.

^ was trying to figure out what the music at 0:58 was sort of reminding me of and finally remembered (but it's really subtle in the above track):

This Crywank song always reminds me of Coil a bit:

The vocals of these random songs with 1-3~ views I'm being suggested are getting better too. Not perfect but improving.

Trying to train the algorithm into suggesting me the perfect song for me or something lol.

I discovered my favorite band on a Russian site (funkysouls) just because I liked the album cover/band name as it was featured on the front page. I downloaded/discovered so much music from that site. I was really into abstract/experimental hip-hop at the time and that was the only site where I could find music from that genre. There was also a show on direct tv called Havoc on the 101 that played a lot of indie stuff. People could vote for which videos they wanted to get played via cell phone. I discovered a lot of music from there too. I also found tons of music from music blogs, last.fm and spotify.

But yeah, Incubus is one of my favorite bands from my teenage years that I still thoroughly enjoy.

Why are Humans so neurotic about sex? Not just the act of sex that makes more sense to me because of the STD risk but sexuality itself. It's not just homosexual people obviously it's like they're freaked out by the idea of submissive men, dominant men, masculine men, feminine men, promiscuous women, sadistic women, submissive women, dominant women, male sexuality in general, men wearing dresses, men wearing 'female clothing' and getting off on that (god that's not a big deal at all,) someone posted this post below because they rightfully know that it will bother people but why? Who the [BEEP] cares?

actually ill be a bad transgender ill say it. there IS something so erotic about HRT. to ME

like so youre molding. bending the human figure to your will youre undergoing a gradual transformation to make you into something new and euphoric entirely? and it involves stabbing or swallowing. okayyyy
I saw this post earlier lol:

It's weird that there are so called Rush "fans" that write about fucking the best drummer who ever existed in the ass. I mean i can joke with the best of them but that is just too much. I love many female singers but never once felt the need to think about them in that way nor write about it in a so called blog. Grow up or maybe you are a deviant, whatever bro, get out of my fandom.

#rush #fake rush fans #tired of sex based bullshit
(Personally I'm not attracted to Neil at all but definitely Geddy obviously. Not important info to include in this post but yeah lol.)

This guy's (I assume guy from everything posted,) blog was full of gifs and naked pictures of women! Most of them very sexualised. You can't make this [BEEP] up haha. The hypocritical irony of it all. His entire blog not exaggerating. It's just naked and sexualised women. It's also just the fact it was posted on tumblr like... Tumblr has always had a bunch of puritanical people alongside the other stuff but if they are a straight guy posting this on tumblr why are you even on the website? It's like going to 4chan and posting on that site about people using slurs.

This is the place [BEEP] lol.

And it's not just that person there's some madonna/whore complex with music and other fandoms. You can't really enjoy something if you're into the people/characters/creators/whoever sexually (I beg to differ lol.) It's usually men who say things like this online ime. That might just be because I've be into a lot of male dominated fandoms over the years though. Also how the label fujoshi came about really they were 'ruining things' for men haha:

Fujoshi only means "rotten girl" if you google-translate it. In other words, I consider it somewhat of a mistranslation as the 'fu' character doesn't actually carry connotations of bad behaviour like the word "rotten" does in English. The fu character is also used in tofu - directly translated it means "fermented bean". So I think fujoshi is probably better translated as "fermentation girl" and the reason it was termed as such has more to do with the fact that (when it was originally used to refer to slash fangirls) these women would "ferment" / change the 'product to be consumed' (anime series), so that it would be unpalatable for the cishet male viewer, by making two or more male characters in love with one another. In other words, it's a food pun.[8]
There's a lot of homophobia in it in this case obviously like it doesn't really matter unless it's something that makes those men uncomfortable - like anal sex, two men together, or feminisation.

I wonder if because men generally have a high sex drive and learn to hate their sexuality and think it 'ruins things' like if a man has sex with a woman that's 'ruining her' too (according to the rules,) they just apply that to everything.

There are also gay men who freak out about these works and think it's fetishisising (is that spelt right? What a word lol so many s's) gay men but in my opinion that's basically a form of transphobia because it's not really about them, and if anything most of the characters are straight not gay. It's because the people doing it are usually women who think 'well I have to date straight men I can't date gay men' which is the exact opposite of what those people accuse them of... The problem is they can't have the sex or relationships they want to have with straight men because they are disgusted by them so they must find other outlets like voyeurism and 'turn straight guys gay.' That's basically the same problem of having a trans sexuality but that's downplayed too because of puritanism you have to downplay that element of your existence to be politically correct, even if it's the part that causes you the most issues. Like a lot of gay cis men have fantasies about turning straight guys gay. Yeah so do gay trans men. Non-binary people. And straight/bi women. Lol. Hell even some lesbians maybe... Sexuality is complicated.

Then you go to prison for 10 years maybe if you sell homoerotic comic books in China and they ban entire websites to stop women from creating feminised portrayals of film characters, actors, and musicians.... Yeah it's kind of like 'Wow I have the most power over the entire world because there's a lot of insecure straight men in power who are so mentally weak. That's amazing.' But also it really fucking sucks.

"I am still not getting what I want."

with the intense piano. I think it like that in my head lol.

She broke the middle C on the keyboard playing this song last night in Portland. It was only the second song of the night, but that didn't matter at all. She gave the most powerful performance imaginable. I was crying and laughing all night. I'm so lucky.
    I can imagine lol.

It's even worse if you're a homosexual cis man you get killed/imprisoned in most countries. If you have a womb they still need it no matter how 'degenerate' your mind is. Then they just rape you sometimes. That motivation is more common in some countries.

And I have a lot of thoughts about this obviously because it's almost impossible not to internalise these viewpoints to some extent so I catch myself criticising myself for finding men attractive in bands I listen to etc, and obviously most of the people you project your sexual fantasies onto will be disgusted by it if they are atypical (and maybe even if they aren't,) so if they end up reading what you're saying that would be bad. If they are real of course. Most aren't, mostly people use fictional characters. Even when I kind of fantasise about famous people I usually create some fictional person who's similar but not exactly like them and compartmentalise so it's not really like I'm delusional and think they'd be into the things I'm into. I mean sometimes I imagine they're a woman in my head obviously they're not irl.

But that's why I don't post anything too graphic onto social media besides maybe that they're attractive or they're pretty - I think that's the most feminising word I've used and that I've posted on a social media site about a guy who exists. I mean actual social media sites obviously I'm way more open here. And the chances of them finding forums that are unrelated to their band etc is like nill most people are just on the same few large websites these days. So I feel more comfortable. I made a thread about this years ago lol:

Anyway I think this a lot because I have very specific preferences that most guys can't meet (or wouldn't want to.) I'm attracted to a lot of feminine traits in guys, and it's not that I don't find any masculine traits attractive because I do (otherwise I'd just be attracted to women, and I find guys that are my type much more attractive) and I also have been attracted to guys who are less feminine but the traits I find myself desiring the most are one's guys usually dislike in themselves and it would probably lower their self esteem to hear about the stuff I find attractive. And it is a bit unreasonable especially in regards to physical stuff sometimes. And other guys have pointed this out before too (that most guys don't look that way,) and I have come across guys online (including this website,) who have been really insecure about not looking more feminine and I know in some cases it's partly because of people like me based on the things they say. Weirdly, my preferences are actually quite uncommon I think (perhaps rare,) and some guys seem to think they're universal - as in everyone finds physically feminine traits more attractive (confirmation bias I guess,) but I still feel bad seeing that sort of thing because I feel indirectly responsible in a way. But also even setting aside stuff like that, it's true that most guys don't look like the kind of guys I find attractive (or, again, want to)..

I was reading something and I've edited it slightly to stop people Googling what I was reading:

He's there looking so small and fragile, and shivering a little.
And I found that line very attractive and I think that's partly why I like slim guys with slim legs as well, because they look kind of smaller. And I thought about it, and felt like that's a pretty messed up thing to find attractive, not that I don't find emotional strength attractive as well, but I guess I like the idea of being protective sometimes. Even if it's unrealistic.

And that's just one example I think this often like I like guys who wear makeup, and mix and match female/male clothing, who have long hair and various feminine interests, I like calling guys pretty etc (most would obviously hate that, so I don't ever say that to someone and wouldn't unless I knew they were OK with that kind of compliment.) Sometimes even when a guy is slightly more masculine in terms of personality, as long as they're still kind of introverted/shy, I still daydream about them in this same kind of weird dynamic at least 50% of the time.. Maybe more these days.. And guys don't even want to know about some of my sexual fantasies..... I know most guys would hate those lol. Yeah :/
But this is a really hard existence and normophilic heterosexual people just don't have this problem with their existence and don't appreciate how hard it is at all.

WhY dO ThEy NeEd PrIdE. I don't even go to pride parades or events I haven't in my entire life. I never felt that connected to the LGBT+ community. Although I have since come out as non-binary because I feel like I'm quite unconventional in some ways and my existence is politically incorrect and inconvenient to popular homonormative and binary narratives so don't fit in anywhere, but it's not hard for me to understand why anyone would need that when they're being told their sexuality is disgusting and evil constantly.

It's even weirder when you have a female body. Like if you're a cis gay man you know that most men are going to find you disgusting. You understand how the social contract works but when you have a female body you're in this really weird place where your sexuality is disgusting, your desires are disgusting, but still these guys want to [BEEP] you. Do you know how confusing that is?

My sexuality is literally destroying the West lmao. And threatening China and Russia. The rhetoric really gets that extreme. Oh my god this existence is so insane. Humans are actually just insane. There are evo-psych theories:

    From some Harvard researcher lol.

You just post some art work you find hot and it's automatically 'propaganda that's going to brainwash every man' and you're an evil queen emasculating men as Jordan Peterson would say:

I know he's talking about the more feminist political kind of thing but he's connected this in other videos to 'women preferring men with more feminine faces now' which he thinks is caused by the birth control pill (it's not,) and 'this is probably driving things on the political front to some extent.' I think he's scared to open that pandora's box so he's just decided to go down the normal conservative route of demonising all porn and sexuality that doesn't lead to reproduction instead.

It's hilarious to have that much power in these people's minds, but it's also insane and depressing.

It's not just men though some of the worst puritanical people are women who hate male sexuality and also this lol:

Oh... No I wasn't looking for that...

Or that but that response is the most based tweet I've ever read actually:

Or that..... Why do I have so many funny posts saved haha:

Elves (3+ kinds of people lol.)

Actually I first thought archery was cool while playing Medievil the playstation game because there was a lot of different bows and arrows in that game and like 'magic longbows' and 'flaming longbows' etc. My love of flamethrowers etc also came from video games initially and like Spyro and that one dragon suit in Medievil that breathed fire. I'm a great advert for playing video games for conservative parents. In fairness I've never touched a flamethrower irl, have a fear of gas + fire so like if I use a new stove + oven it takes me a while to adjust, and I've only touched a real bow and arrow once at this camp I went to. That's how I found out that my dominant hand and eye don't match which isn't a great thing for archery. Makes sense since my mum is left handed (or maybe that's not how it works, I don't know. It's apparently common with people who have processing disorders and I have selective mutism which is associated with auditory processing disorders as well + I have weird issues with processing sound.) Just remembered this:

This is such a powerful scene. I was always too apathetic to have serious dreams though. I'm more or less this line from that tumblr post about millenials which is sort of like the poem Howl but not a poem:

    https://www.tumblr.com/hotelconcierg...adult-fictions

They were never allowed to have instincts. For that matter they've never really wanted, never felt a desire that wasn't assigned, which is why: open relationships, switched majors, medicated anxiety, and ambivalence, ambivalence, ambivalence.
This tweet is what I was looking for lol:

Yes I see discourse like this a lot especially about bisexual women.

I grew up with this wider mentality and it's both gotten worse and better since then. Like what people are willing to say is more 'out there' for example I would never post about myself doing anything to guys on social media and so my sexuality became voyeuristic (like it does with most people who have these preferences and a lot of trans people whether this is coincidence or because of societal repression is debateable,) but also the puritanism has gotten worse in general.

Also often think about this lol:

According to the Alphabet of Ben Sira, Lilith was Adam?s first wife but the couple fought all the time. They didn?t see eye-to-eye on matters of sex because Adam always wanted to be on top while Lilith also wanted a turn in the dominant sexual position. When they could not agree, Lilith decided to leave Adam.
And also this is neutralised by some feminists to be a 'symbolic representation of women's rights.' Which is also funny.
    The impulse is pure
    Sometimes our circuits get shorted
    By external interference

    Signals get crossed
    And the balance distorted
    By internal incoherence

    A tired mind become a shape-shifter
    Everybody need a mood lifter
    Everybody need reverse polarity

    Everybody got mixed feelings
About the function and the form
    Everybody got to deviate
    From the norm

^ also tangentially related to that because I just noticed this (it's like the other side of the coin so to speak, ironically, despite the crux of the argument they're having):

It's not ideal to sink to their level but I can see why someone would. Especially as she's clearly as familiar with all these online circles as I am:

'Lost in a custody battle between this site and lolcow' cracked me up tbh.

Imagine just having to read this stuff regularly while being online:

Oh my god she wrote a song.

Imagine listening to Inbred and thinking it's glorifying incest 💀
That means she's endorsing it! Was a pretty good track too (at least by the standards of modern music.) I quite like it.

This is part of why creativity is dying.

But that's why I don't really think you should cede ground on this if you can help it because it just let's puritanical people win.

"You toads" thanking you for gracing this toad with your presence, I guess.

First off, you did not make your post to "tradwife babydolls". You made your post after you called a radical feminist retarded and she screenshot it. This whole "I meant that post towards my followers for being obsessed with being a little small girly and dainty femininity" is a lie. You're trying to give yourself a whole new excuse to call women hairy beasts, and it's a lie.

Second of all, you're the one who said "he's still not gonna [BEEP] you" and "waiting for some old man to come along and [BEEP] them and tell them they're so teeeeeny tiny and worth it" and then pointed out our hairy assholes and pussies before making a response post about "not touching you broads with a 10 foot pole". If someone made the posts sexual, that would be you, the author of the posts, and all your references to fucking and hairy pussies.

No one is calling you male in retaliation to anything. We're calling you male because you're a male. And we're calling you out for misogyny because you?ve behaved like a misogynist. Acting like your post was a reaction to misogyny is laughable. You were angry a radical feminist screenshot you calling her a retard, and in your anger you acted like a misogynist and referred to women in a bunch of terrible ways, and now you?re upset that you got caught before you could delete it. And even now you?re still referring to women as toads.
lol. They don't have great reading comprehension she said it was for the people dm'ing her crap not her fans. But also I actually think most people are misogynistic and misandric in the sense that there are archetypes of femininity and masculinity that disgust them. Which archetype varies on an individual level though.

Again, I don't know why you're upset. Your followers are fawning over the way you called women bitches, and beasts, and slugs, and breedable anime girls waiting to be fucked by old men, and called out our hairy pussies and assholes. They love that you called a group of radical feminist women retards and broads. They understood the meaning behind your first post and they loved it, you don't have to pretend.
Tbf she very obviously wasn't speaking about every woman just the women who harass her online who are part of specific subcultures. In the first place what she said doesn't apply to every woman and the way she worded that made it clear. It's a very obvious online subcultural thing.

Go take this post to your agents and use it to prove you should get a better record deal. Cash in on your popularity. Misogyny has never better seller than it is right now, and I bet that "Formaldahyde jar" line will make bank.
Oh Porcupine Tree already made the best song about formaldehyde:

    Somewhere inside
    I have died
    So I will lie
    In formaldehyde
    People walk
    Through my insides

    You never seem to take
    The time to contemplate
    Before you annihilate

Also another thing that just annoys me personally is that when they do this trans women feel the need to do this:

you know what, maybe i will just sit in the weeds with you toads a while. to preface everything i'm about to say, i understand that radfems love to provoke and antagonize just to sit back and cry MALE MOMENT when a trans woman reacts with even the slightest bit of irritation. that fact is not lost on me whatsoever. so call me a pedophile, call me a man, tell me i have a big forehead. whatever. one of those three things is true so you got me there.

in my first post, i am obviously referring to the tradwife babydolls who equate womanhood to femininity in that big scary trannies will never know the delicate pleasures of being a woman (eg: shaving their legs, being "girly", being tiny and petite and soft) because that?s a group of radfems constantly nipping at my ankles, as many people are aware by how often i'm complaining about them. if pointing out the pedophilic standards created by men and internalized by some women is, inherently, pedophilic, well i don't see how any progress will ever get made at that point. the lengths some people, often certain subsects of radical feminists, will go to shut trans women out of womanhood have taken the narrative to extreme lengths, and yes, that does appear to reduce women as a whole to hairless children only good for sex and gawking at. which is concerning.

now, did i used to eat that little coquette shtick up for a minute or two in the early days of my career? sure. i was 19-20. god forbid i be young and grow out of harmful mindsets. maybe i just watched little house on the prairie a little too much and, OH NO, fetishized being a wheat farmer?s wife. someone call the executioner, a tumblrina is being an edgelord.

in the second post, well... if you read "touching with a 10 foot pole"as "wanting to fuck" and not "wanting to kick the hornet's nest", maybe you?re a touch porn-addled as well. sorry you can't sexualize me any further than you already have and accuse me of preying on women but i like dick, cock, and balls on GROWN men so idk what to tell you there. i'm sure some of you will take that and run with it as an admittance that i hate or have no need/respect for "biological women" at all now but that's a sacrifice i'm willing to make for my point.

as for my third post, yeah. you all exhibit willful ignorance and refuse to listen to what i'm actually saying so you can cram everything i say into one of your 10 pre-determined talking points that you've been indoctrinated into believing and perpetuating. there's no winning with any of you because you don't listen. you exist to preach. forget the lived experience of someone different than you, that doesn?t matter. you are the only story that matters and that is a dangerous mindset and i truly wish all of you well because i can't imagine any of you are happy.

i shouldn't even be engaging with this as much as i am but i don't wanna reinforce the idea that trans women can't be articulate and only exist to MANMODE and be aggressive. honestly though, with all the talk of female rage and violence, immediately crying male at someone for being even the slightest bit retaliatory seems a little counterintuitive but... that?s for y'all to figure out.

in closing, for those who choose to listen, i would never shame women for having body hair, the reproductive organs, or the overall biology that they do, so let me be clear on that. i love my mother, my sisters, my dear friends, and even strangers too much for that. this is not about that and never has been. now, go forth and twist my words some more. i've said what i have to say.
I personally think she has a preference for men anyway and probably cis men because most people do (Edit: lol most people yup most humans have a preference for men. No lol and actually only 55% of trans women are attracted to men I think a lot prefer dating trans women as well, the important thing is:

And if they do I'll reject them. But I think she said before she was bisexual and she makes out with women at concerts sometimes and other times (like there was a video where she was making out with her friend and someone else.) Other trans women don't necessarily have that preference but they constantly have to emphasise how they're TOTALLY NOT INTO CIS WOMEN, WOMEN OR VAGINAS. Which this video goes into more:

    It's really homophobic against [BEEP] trans women. I also dislike this because if I haven't made clear I understand sexual repression personally. A̶l̶s̶o̶ ̶t̶b̶h̶ ̶I̶ ̶s̶o̶m̶e̶t̶i̶m̶e̶s̶ ̶f̶i̶n̶d̶ ̶t̶r̶a̶n̶s̶ ̶w̶o̶m̶e̶n̶ ̶a̶t̶t̶r̶a̶c̶t̶i̶v̶e̶ ̶s̶o̶ ̶i̶t̶'̶s̶ ̶a̶n̶n̶o̶y̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶r̶e̶a̶s̶o̶n̶ ̶t̶o̶o̶ ̶l̶o̶l̶.̶

omg the maleness really jumped out there shocker the male hates women and thinks we're disgusting (yet wants to be one??) and ofc threw in some gross pedophilia in there too. god bless u!
No it really didn't. Cis women say things like this about other women all the time.

Ethel Cain's initial response ironically comes from the fact that most women hate the tendency common among men to sexualise neoteny lol. I personally dislike this too (at least past a certain point,) like anime girls (the stereotypical girly/childish type I mean not talking about like Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell or something when I say that,) that really isn't my thing but yeah if anyone else had posted that response it would have seemed a 100% stereotypical woman-like response honestly.

But some women on tumblr, some of whom are pretty transphobic and reactionary in general enjoy participating in that image you can find out more about that here:

Even though I don't like it, I don't really see the problem with it, as long as they're comfortable with it and aren't judging other people or being transphobic etc. But you know I'm an incredibly rare person in that respect lol.

I also think there's a difference between people purposefully and consciously catering to this Lolita image like with the nymphette subculture to the point where they maybe think it's edgy to do that or they're sexualising the image itself (which is also fine imo but there is an important distinction here, and it's hypocritical when people only criticise trans women for doing that when it's obvious that cis women also sometimes do that,) and people who just have those traits or some or those traits like the musician Aurora where people actually get annoyed with her when she breaks out of that 'innocent' 'pixie dream girl' style like she did with this song:

And also a difference again with people who have these traits and don't even want those traits (like I'm short and have a neotenous facial structure but this doesn't match my internal self well and it's not my aesthetic ideal. I always wanted more defined/jagged/androgynous features I guess.) Grimes is kind of fascinating because she projects that image in her work and also enjoys anime a lot, but has historically hated people acknowledging it lol:

Sometimes she's looked more androgynous but still has the same vocals/vibe:

i dont want to be infantilized because i refuse to be sexualized
im tired of being referred to as 'cute,' as a 'waif' etc., even when the author, fan, friend, family member etc. is being positive."
My image seems to be so infantilized, and I don't really know why. It belittles the music.
There's this inherent conflict. But I think she said she was diagnosed with autism recently? So that could explain it partly. Not that like even if you know why it's easy to get away from ime. I always hated that as well.

Tbf she doesn't come across quite like that outside her music so it's absolutely a persona:

I also like this track a lot lol:

Grimes also teased that the forthcoming record is "about militarized ai courtesans among other things."
IS IT STILL ABOUT LESBIAN AI
Yes it's about militarized ai courtesans among other things
"As she slowly realizes she is essentially a dancing puppet for the male gaze tho, their relationship grows complex. Simultaneously "NO ONE" (the most powerful super intelligence in the future where the simulation is being rendered from) realizes there's a massive hyper-realistic sim running and sends in her troll AI puppets to wreak havoc."

She continued to explain that a "lead AI demon" called Dark Matter then "enters basically as the "black swan to claire de lune". However, the two entities "fall into a lesbian romance due to the fact that they are the only two fully Ai beings in this universe".
Grimes isn't just the narrator, though. She's also a principal character, and over the course of written history, her archetype--the lover, the siren, the mistress--hasn't been treated with much respect. Book 1 alludes to Athena, Calypso, Persephone, the black swan, Anne Boleyn, courtesans, concubines, geishas. "These weren't just hot girls, she says. "They were the smartest girls, some of the most educated women of their time." They painted, sang, designed their own clothing. They were the Grimeses of their day.

And then they got written into history as some rich guy's sidepiece. "I ate my cake / I lost my head / Villain of the internet," Grimes sings on a Police-inflected track from Book 1 called "Marie Antoinette 2077." "I'm super inspired by the way women get pulled into orbits in this manner, she tells me. "There's this weird dismissal of them. These are some of the most interesting characters in history to me, and they're so demeaned? I feel like the most radical thing I could do right now is just become Marie Antoinette." She considers it for a second. "Infamy is kind of fun."
She quickly adds that she doesn't want this to become all about Musk. She says it often during our conversations, and she's referring to this article, but she could just as easily be referring to her life.
Grimes also started to feel unexpectedly conflicted about her role in this theater. For one thing, she liked being Musk's girlfriend. She knows she's going to get slaughtered for saying this, but: "Personally, I don't think 'manic pixie dream girl' is an insult. I exactly identify with all of those terms. I understand it's supposed to be a critique of certain things, but then I challenge that critique." She began to reject what she calls "this misplaced idea of feminism of, like, I need to be my own thing, I need to be separate." She has kids with Musk. "Separate" is off the table for good. "There is no way to extricate myself," she says now. So she did what artists do: She turned her gilded cage into source material.
"Which is also really weird because X, he says 'Claire' but he doesn't say 'mama'. Which is so . . . I'm like, 'How are you...?' Like, maybe he can sense my distaste for the word 'mother'."

Grimes adds she simply doesn't identify with the word.

"I don't even know why I have a distaste for [the word] because I respect [mothers]. I just can't identify with it, weirdly."

This is a comment from Elon Musk's first ex-wife:

Elon Musk told his first wife as they danced at their wedding that he was "the alpha in this relationship,"
Falling back down that rabbit hole. ARE YOU OK? (No most people aren't really.) She seems incredibly conflicted. Also seems to have built a [BEEP] fantasy where she's saved from the power dynamics of her heterosexual relationship by an AI lesbian because they're both 'AI' lol.

Grimes is still hammering out the plot, but one key thread is a kind of cyberpunk spin on Swan Lake. There's a white swan (an exaggerated version of Grimes the dark king's dream girl, a simulated courtesan who grows weary of being a muse)
"We keep having this conversation where E's like, 'Are you real? Or are we living in my memory, and you're like a synthesized companion that was created to be my companion here??" If this sounds like he's asking her if she's a virtual pleasure bot, that's not (entirely) what he means. Anyway, she says, she's never felt entirely real herself: "The degree to which I feel engineered to have been this, like, perfect companion is crazy."

Does she mean the perfect companion for him specifically?

"Yes. Even just studying astrophysics and neuroscience. And it's really annoying because people think I'm an airhead who went to art school." (She actually wanted to, but it was too expensive.)
I just don't know how there could be anyone not seeing this at this point lol. Also I strongly dislike him as a person needless to say. I also wonder if she ever thinks Musk was designed to be her perfect partner? I strongly doubt it and she should keep looking. The richest man in the world gets who he's looking for at least until they can't put up with him anymore. But the women who end up with them (men like this,) don't get what they're looking for actually.

I always shitposted that she should turn him into a catgirl, but that was more symbolic.

Actually coincidentally Amanda Palmer's song Astronaut from 2009:

and i am still not getting what i want
i want to touch the back of your right arm
i wish you could remind me who i was
because every day I'm a little further off

but you are, my love, the astronaut
flying in the face of science
i will gladly stay an afterthought
just bring back some nice reminders

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8B2nBM0jFg

Reminds me now a bit of this Grimes' song:

    Sail away
To the cold expanse of space
    Even love
Couldn't keep you in your place
    But can't you love me
    Like that?
    Can't you need me
    Like that?

If I loved him any less
    I'd make him stay
But he has to be the best
    Player of games

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADHFwabVJec

Except Amanda Palmer concludes with this:

yes you are, my love, the astronaut
crashing in the name of science
just my luck they sent your upper half
    it's a very nice reminder
    it's a very nice reminder

and you may be acquainted with the night
but I have seen the darkness in the day
and you must know it is a terrifying sight
because you and i are living the same way

And that's more subconscious in the Grimes album + song. In fact she often denies her lyrics have any personal attachment to her life and relationships at all.

This is what Amanda wrote about the lyrics:

the chorus hit me one day (but you are, my love, the astronaut) and the pieces started slowly formatting. i wasn't sure where the astronaut came from. he sounded good. it made sense enough to me to fit him into my non-relationship of the moment. i had a terrible crush on a singer from a band. we had been dating but he vaguely vanished into thin air. he was unfindable, literally?he had no phone. he was handsome and smart and i'd finally let myself fall a little tiny bit in love for the first time in years. i felt gypped. i'd drawn his right arm, the back of it, which had a tattoo on it that I was attached to, one day when we were on a picnic by the river.
    You're psychic =D

the lyrics that fell out of my mouth of this song brought me into a few free associations, ones that came out in the video much more clearly.

one was the challenger blowing up when i was 7. i remember my mother coming into my room and telling me and she was crying and she held me.
Grimes has been fixated with space for a long time. Before Musk. I expect her special interest in space is what drew her to him (I know they met over a rationalist community in joke but other than that):

You know who never asked for a divorce? Geddy Lee's wife lol. I don't know their life story you know they say don't meet your heroes etc and who isn't a complete asshole? 😂 Maybe they're both terrible people who hate each other? John Lennon had a lot of issues. I'm incredibly judgemental/cynical actually. And it's because I don't want to seem stupid he seems nice not perfect but nice (but I also don't pay that much attention to him, interviews etc - I've read/watched a few things, but it would ruin my schizoid fantasies.) But I just noticed before they got married young on his wikipedia page and the wikipedia page of most famous people over a certain age has usually at least 3 marriages. At least. I don't think that matters if you're happy (which she very obviously is not at all.) She has some fluid arrangement with this guy who literally told a woman that he's 'the alpha in this relationship.' I would get an annulment lol. Lol 'reason for breaking up: said he was the alpha' People seem confused though (even my friend who brought them up last month,) she was never married to Elon lol. He's in the 'building a harem of high IQ women' stage of his career.

I posted this song as well recently:

The lyrics are kind of borderline psychopathic:

How did it start? Well, I don't know
    I just feel the craving
I see the flesh and it smells fresh
And it's just there for the taking

    These little girls
They make me feel so goddamn exhilarated
I fill them up, I can't give it up
The pain that I'm just erasing

I tell my lies and I despise every second I'm with you
So I run away and you still stay
So what the [BEEP] is with you?
Your feelings, I can't help but rape them

    I'm sorry, I don't feel the same
My heart inside is constantly hating
I'm sorry, I just throw you away

Why do I have a conscience?
All it does is [BEEP] with me
Why do I have this torment?
All I wanna do is [BEEP] it away

Like you treat someone poorly and then resent them for putting up with it because you don't respect them. The next step which is full on psychopathic is justifying what you're doing because they're stupid so deserve it:

Jordan Peterson has talked about psychopaths a bunch in a way that suggests he should be able to spot them + he's a clinical psychologist (though there's a lot he doesn't understand about women so... And he has also gone off the rails lately anyway lol.) He also criticises feminists for conflating competence with like tyrannical masculinity. Yet he likes Elon Musk. I don't get it. Is it OK because he thinks he's also competent? He also thinks monogamy is the best relationship system (Personally I don't have a black and white view I think it depends on the individual,) but he thinks Elon Musk is some great man?

Jordan sounds like a guy who respects Elon, but doesn't like him one bit.
Eh maybe that's it and I just misunderstand his thoughts because he's not speaking explicitly. Also he's brought him up in other interviews as well so my impression of his opinion is based on that too. I just cba digging up every instance sometimes it was in longer videos. And tbh it's probably more political tribalism which is why he might be a fan. That tends to cloud most people's brain.

It's not just this that leads me to dislike him either. I feel like he's very hypocritical in that he creates - as with most in tech - a work environment for his employees that specifically dissuades them from forming relationships and building families etc while yelling at people that they should have more kids and claiming to be pronatalist. Impregnating his female employees while absolutely making it harder for his male employees who are in a male dominated work environment to find partners. I think I might have posted about this... And the video game industry? It's a similar issue. Oh no maybe I didn't... I dunno. I think I wrote a post that I didn't post. That's a whole other topic and tangent though.. I'll just quote some stuff this post is going to be even longer now...:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crunch_(video_games)

"Crunch time" is the point at which the team is thought to be failing to achieve milestones needed to launch a game on schedule. The complexity of work flow, reliance on third-party deliverables, and the intangibles of artistic and aesthetic demands in video-game creation create difficulty in predicting milestones.[3] The use of crunch time is also seen to be exploitative of the younger male-dominated workforce in video games, who have not had the time to establish a family and who were eager to advance within the industry by working long hours.[3][4] In some cases, the drive for crunch may come from the developers themselves as individual developers may want to work extra hours without a mandate to assure their product meets delivery milestones and is of high quality, which can influence other developers to also commit to extra hours or avoid taking time off as to appear slacking.[5]
I think it's similar in some other areas of tech:

I can relate. I worked for a tech company in the late 90s. I had to work 80-100 hours a week per my contract. It nearly destroyed my marriage, and my children, now adults, still have angst for me for not being there for them. Unlike the Apple employees, however, I came out of my contract broke, because the company failed in 2003. We haven't gotten past all of the emotional and financial damage it caused yet.
    and you know:

ELON MUSK INSTALLS WASHING MACHINE AT TWITTER HQ SO OVERWORKED EMPLOYEES CAN WASH THEIR FILTHY RAGS
Elon Musk likes to think of himself as "hardcore".
He says he works 100+ hour weeks. He sometimes sleeps at the office.
And he wants that for his staff too.
Case in point, new images obtained by the BBC show pictures of conference rooms that have been converted into rudimentary hotel rooms. Other images show bed sheets covering sofas, indicating that "lots of staff have been sleeping at Twitter," according to BBC tech reporter James Clayton.[/
It can be fun ime. I used to enjoy pulling all nighters at uni. I liked the atmosphere/purpose/camaraderie etc, and I had an insane workload at the time and 70% of people dropped out before I graduated, which the head of the course told us would happen at the start lmfao. My friend who works for a game dev company recently said this to me:

I lack motivation to do most things

How people manage to do other stuff when working is beyond me
It's just depressing though. Everything is so relentless
But he says it's not the job and that he finds the concept of full time work for decades until you can retire depressing in general. He's also developed mental health issues over the past couple of years that he didn't used to have like anxiety issues etc. Seems to have issues mostly on Sunday before he goes back to work.

But yeah so Elon Musk bangs on about pronatalism while not realising that most people can't just, I don't know, build a harem. They're also not really capable of living like him.

Oh yeah God. This is what I was going to post before ages ago (I say aged ago lol this video is only 4 weeks old but that might as well be years in global news/internet years,) but might as well include it here:

Where is your wife Turkey's president Asks Elon Musk in Awkward Meeting.
    The shade.

Actually I think Erdogan might have genuinely thought he was actually married lol and then Elon actually lied about being married because he obviously felt awkward. Not to mention he's just kind of abducted his son according to Grimes' tweet I included earlier in the post.

I'm now reading like the requirements for annulment vs divorce in the UK this is wild:

    Your marriage is 'voidable'
You can annul a marriage for a number of reasons, such as:

it was not consummated - you have not had sexual intercourse with the person you married since the wedding (does not apply for same sex couples)
you did not properly consent to the marriage - for example you were forced into it
the other person had a sexually transmitted disease (STD) when you got married
your spouse was pregnant by someone else when you got married
one spouse is in the process of transitioning to a different gender

As with divorce, your marriage legally exists until you annul it using one of these reasons.
Why????????????? See this is another reason I don't [BEEP] with legal marriage lol.

But the infantalisation thing is often also used as an insult that I've personally had directed at me as an insult in real life and online (along with just general comments that aren't meant to be insulting and I dislike it when it's an insult and when it's a compliment honestly.) Lol:

Imagine being 30 and still giving in to the consumerist nonbinary bs designed to make white American teenage girls feel special. [...] shouldn't your 12 year old girl voice be upsetting to you to the point where your entire channel makes you hate yourself more?
It's fairly common in society. I don't get it often because I'm not that famous. Common for social media personalities maybe because we're more neotenic on average. Shoeonhead gets [BEEP] tons of comments about how her voice sounds like a teenage boys, 'is this a femboy?' Comments about how she looks/seems really young for her age and other similar things. Most of these aren't designed to be insulting but she specifically has gotten a lot of criticism from people who hate her as well - often terfs as well actually - they've written posts etc from what I remember which are largely along the lines 'everything she thinks is because of her boyfriend,' 'her [ex] boyfriend is her handler' people starting a rumour that she was 17 when she was in her late 20s. And I know she has ADHD so I think that's probably more common for neurodivergent people.

That's why I loved this character too lol because it kinds of inverts that stereotype/role even if the character is an actual kid and not an adult or teen who is treated as younger or 'cute' (well she's a teen in the second film but yeah.)

He does this too thinking about it lol he seems to always be talking about knives:

I connect a lot with the song lyrics 'I'm only Human I come with knives' kept quoting that at one point:

Well you can't have guns here in the UK so you know. Can't really have knives either lol. Once I was buying some plastic cutlery at a self service till and had to wait for someone to come over to check ID. Then they looked at what I was buying and were like LOL never mind.

Also this is my favourite post I read recently:

Perhaps because it's so unapologetic and matter of fact.

Respecting your values was for a time before the internet:

Respect for this guy, the world should really honor this guy.
I?d prefer this guy over our own President.
"Dear Uganda, can we switch presidents, even just for a little while? Please and thank you!" - sincerely, USA 🇺🇸
As an American, I support this man ahahahaha
    same
I never knew there is americans aginst this stuff hmm.
I know it immposible all people agree in one thing but ur media are insanly agree on this stuff and fight anyone aginst it.
    90% of america doesn't agree...
We'll need a citation for this one.

Bet you wouldn't want to live there though would you ?
They've got them there. Westerners not desperate to move to Uganda lol. Japan and South Korea maybe when it comes to 'non white majority' countries.

If you have the ability to influence my culture (which you do as you are clearly affecting Americans in this comment section,) then I won't respect your 'values.' (respect essentially just meaning ignoring you.) His values btw:

The Anti-Homosexuality Act, 2023, which prescribes up to 20 years in prison for "promotion of homosexuality" and the death penalty for "aggravated homosexuality", came into force in 2023,[6][7][8] making Uganda the only Christian-majority country and non-Islamic majority country to punish some types of consensual same-sex acts with the death penalty.[2]
You can kill people if you like, but it's never going to stop you appearing comically ridiculous:

That's why parts of that Ugandan interview seem so amusing. Homophobes often are comically ridiculous. You require tyrannical power to distract from the fact that you are comically ridiculous.

You know what I take it back the Ugandan president could never hope to be this accidentally entertaining. He can't even offer that lol. At least the guys in this interview manage that.

If the entire human race collectively tries to come up with something comedic, they will never top this. This is undoubtedly THE most hilarious thing to ever happen on this planet and there will never be a debate about it (the emu war was a close second but not on par with this). An absolute timeless masterpiece and I am grateful that it happened during my lifetime.
Most of the world is being led by the worst of whichever country they live in. Assuming he has the means to the trans guy in the above video will sadly probably just leave that country at some point if he hasn't already. Can't blame him.

In an idealistic world I could let you do what you want to do, but unfortunately we don't have boundaries and at any rate bigots always seek to destroy what they hate. I don't really care about you. Weird homophobic presidents of the world. In general I care about the people in your country who are LGBT+ or just don't want to live in a country with such repressive restrictions, and are forced to live there.

Wow straightforward 💀,we need more people like that fr
As an American, hearing this level of honesty from a politician is so refreshing!😂
Here's some truth. Women tend to find intelligence attractive and I believe women who have noticed certain patterns (that are also reflected in research,) use homophobia in men as a kind of intelligence test. So if you seem very homophobic, they think you're very stupid. When introduced to this pattern it may become unattractive to most women, even possibly the ones who are homophobic themselves. On top of that not being homophobic also signals restraint, empathy - things like that - qualities that probably make a good dad. There's research suggesting that the brains of heterosexual men view two men kissing in the way they view maggots:

In heterosexual men, pictures of rotting flesh, maggots and spoiled food induce the same physiological stress response as pictures of two men kissing each other. That is the surprising finding that was recently published in the peer-reviewed scientific journal Psychology & Sexuality.
The study, which was carried out by the American Institute of Bisexuality,
Wait that exists? Can you do more research? Bisexuals basically never pop up in research.

So being able to overcome that is in itself an achievement. Homophobic men will have to compensate in some way for lacking this capability. Which I suppose explains the fixation many have on being physically strong and acquiring $$$ but if you can't make decent music what's the point?

a gay men created computer stay away from the all the great thinsgs gbt people created weirdo🙌🏻
Yeah Alan Turing was homosexual, and Ada Lovelace was a woman with a bisexual dad (Byron.) LGBT+ people are overrepresented among autistic people without intellectual disability, overrepresented among people who work in IT/tech, overrepresented among edgy authors and directors of films edgy young straight men like, 21% of game developers are LGBT+

    Whatever is happening here:

While straight men face educational crisis, gay men excel academically, study finds. Lesbians, however, perform more poorly than straight women in a number of academic measures, according to a study published in the American Sociological Review.
The three surveys of American adults consistently indicated that gay men are far more likely than straight men to have graduated from high school or college, with just over half of gay men having earned a college degree, compared with about 35 percent of straight men. Some 6 percent of gay men have a Ph.D., J.D. or M.D. -- a rate 50 percent higher than that of straight men. Mittleman found that gay men's considerably higher levels of educational attainment hold even after taking into account differences in men's race and birth cohorts. What's more, gay men's college graduation rate dramatically bests even that of straight women, about one-third of whom have a bachelor's degree.

The longitudinal survey showed that compared with their straight male peers, gay males earned higher GPAs in high school and college, enrolled in harder classes, took school more seriously, had more academically minded friends and had a much lower rate of ever dropping out for a month or more. In stark contrast, these performance disparities were largely reversed when comparing lesbians with straight girls. Most strikingly, 26 percent of lesbians reported at least one dropout period, compared with 15 percent of heterosexual females.

The U.S. lesbian population's overall college graduation rate, which ranged between 41 percent and 47 percent in the three survey studies, is significantly higher than that of straight women. But Mittleman found this advantage was limited almost entirely to white lesbians, and among women born more recently, gay women's educational edge has eroded.
I think it might have something to do with antisocial behaviour. I read this study a while ago:

    https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/27056045/

This study examined the association between sexual orientation and nonviolent and violent delinquency across the life course. We analyzed self-reported nonviolent and violent delinquency in a sample of heterosexual males (N = 5220-7023) and females (N = 5984-7875), bisexuals (N = 34-73), gay males (N = 145-189), and lesbians (N = 115-150) from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent to Adult Health (Add Health). The analyses revealed, in general, that bisexuals were the most delinquent of the sexual orientation categories for both males and females. Additional analyses revealed that heterosexual males reported significantly higher levels of both violent and nonviolent delinquency than gay males, whereas lesbians reported more involvement in nonviolent delinquency and, to a lesser extent, violent delinquency relative to heterosexual females. Analyses also revealed that lesbians reported significantly more delinquent behavior, particularly for nonviolent delinquency, than gay males. Future research should explore the mechanisms that account for these observed patterns and how they can be used to more fully understand the etiology of delinquency.
It's a shame they left bisexual people out of the above research as usual because then we could figure out if it matches up with that even more. I think in the paper it also mentions straight women being more antisocial than gay men in some ways but I can't remember 100%

You also see something similar with non-binary people and to a lesser extent trans people in a Finnish study:

    https://www.frontiersin.org/articles...20.612424/full

Conclusion: Transgender identity, especially non-binary identity, is associated with both being bullied and perpetrating bullying even when a range of variables including internal stress and involvement in bullying in the opposite role are taken into account. This suggests that bullying during adolescence may serve as a mechanism of maintaining heteronormativity.
Adolescents' involvement in bullying is common (Kaltiala-Heino and Fr?jd, 2011; Lessne et al., 2016), and whether this is as a victim or as a perpetrator, it has well documented negative associations with health and educational trajectories (Chan and Wong, 2015a). Being bullied has been associated, for example, with depression and suicidal ideation (Liang et al., 2007; Kaltiala-Heino and Fr?jd, 2011; Heikkil? et al., 2013) and school truancy and impaired academic performance (Wormington et al., 2016). Being a bully has likewise been associated with depression (Klomek et al., 2008; Kaltiala-Heino et al., 2009; Kaltiala-Heino and Fr?jd, 2011) and suicidal ideation (Kaltiala-Heino et al., 1999; Heikkil? et al., 2013), but also with delinquency and substance abuse (Liang et al., 2007).
So it all seems connected. Also being bullied and going through negative experiences in school will put you off the education system. I'm still mostly opposed to pre-university level education as it's set up now and think of it like a prison lol. University was way better than school. At the moment I think a degree is worth a lot less though + it costs tons of money in the US (also increasingly more overtime in my own country,) and many degree subjects are either useless or for areas that are very competitive, so a lot of people will decide to do other things instead if they can't afford it.

    Lol I just remembered this:

There's no clip of the part I'm talking about it starts at 3:47 in the video.

"You know I was looking at Forbes magazine and it said people who are bisexual are more likely to succeed in business and I think I want to be in that 73%"

    😂

I go back to this series so much though. So quotable. It really should be an actual TV show.

Imagine a band that incorporates the dullest moments of prog rock with the least inspiring aspects of grunge and the most emasculated elements of hard rock. Imagine they have a really really boring singer who looks a tiny bit like Kurt Cobain if Kurt Cobain discovered he really loved programming in C++

Then, imagine that this band's fanbase consists entirely of middle age men and humorless geeks, who truthfully don't have any real affinity with music because they are emotionally underdeveloped, but feel the need to listen to prog rock to win the approval of their fellow mouth breathers. It sounds suitably complex, and these people can only assess music in terms of 'is it difficult to play'.

    Just imagine.

    Imagine.
Damn that's scathing. I'm honestly not even mad they put real effort into this lol.

I'm 32 but got into Porcupine Tree in my early 20s, and I'm non-binary lol. And listen to a wide variety of music.

The PT concert I went to was like 80-90% male maybe and lots of older people but there were actually a bunch of younger people there too. There were a few women (assuming gender,) there with guys and like a bunch of Asian people and Asian women around me near the front. I think South Asian anyway, but some people might have been from South America or something too because I know they have loads of fans there and I wasn't paying close attention. Interesting combination lol (most weren't there together either so it wasn't that.) Don't normally see that at most concerts in general here though. I don't think I remember seeing any white women. It was still mostly white men though. I've been to 4 Steven Wilson concerts too and they're usually mostly older men.

I find it entertaining how I'm very not the norm lol. Even with the race factor in this case because I'm white lol. Reminds me of sixth form again because I was - guess this is going to be appropriate now LOL - software development so it was like 90% South Asian guys, one black guy maybe 2 later, two white guys, two South Asian women (I think maybe three in my first year.) And then me.

I do feel like their psychedelic music is really great and people should listen to their 90s + Lightbulb Sun albums before deciding. Because in the mid-late 2000s a lot of their music is more inspired by metal etc and pretty different. I still like a lot of it but I can see why people wouldn't. And also some of the early stuff is also very whimsical and funny and different emotionally speaking:

I don't really know why he decided to do this with his vocals in all his earliest recordings lol I like the helium vocals though. This was back when it was just him without the rest of the band lol but I think he paid some other guy back then to write the lyrics:

Also Steven Wilson at least from the early 2000s to like 2018~ actually looks very similar to someone I had a crush on in uni who was studying the same thing as me (so game art,) who later came out as non-binary as well. 1/1 of my friends pointed out the similarity and that's actually how I got into his music because someone had posted a bunch of photos of him on tumblr...... But then liked his solo work mostly listening to tracks on Insurgentes and Grace for Drowning, and then started listening to Porcupine Tree a bit after and other projects etc. One of the last times I can say I felt kind of 'transcendental' was while listening to this track with headphones for the first time:

I have less and less emotions with age. Although this year was a pretty good year for emotions. But still my memory of emotions suggests they were often better. Even a decade ago.

Also your argument is invalid because:

This video definitely wasn't made by a middle aged man either lol:

^ Oh yeah Economies of Scale has kind of grown on me more (not that I disliked it or anything but yeah):

That comment is kind of old now but he's been experimenting a bit more vocally on newer albums + working with Ninet. Also some live performances have better vocals. Nobody listens to Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson etc for the vocals predominantly though.

    Like:

Oh wait he said middle aged men and humourless geeks. He's got me there. I sometimes have a sense of humour though.

Never been better. I appreciate Steve Wilson's remixing of Yes and King Crimson albums, but I don't enjoy Porcupine Tree at all. Yet, Porcupine Tree seem to fill a vast Pink Floyd-shaped hole in a lot of people's psyche, for reasons I cannot fathom.
I like some Pink Floyd tracks but I don't exactly listen to that band often at all. In terms of older classic rock bands aside from Rush who I've only gotten into recently and so don't really count because it's new I like to listen to Paranoid by Black Sabbath a lot. Most of the tracks on that album are great.

This one is my most recent fav and I also liked it a lot as a kid:

    Oh.

    Oh I see.

I feel like the fact he (or whoever runs that tweet account,) deleted that first tweet is almost as bad as the fact they posted it in the first place. It means they realised it's bad optics and so I hope he didn't post it because it's impulsive but probably he general thought process. As has been pointed out, that is genocidal language definitely fascist language.

I've been really done with the 'sell arms/help train Islamists to help destabilise countries/regions and win fights' strategy for a decade or so. I do wish the US, UK, Israel, France and whoever else would stop doing this. In general.

Operation Cyclone was the code name for the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) program to arm and finance the Afghan mujahideen in Afghanistan from 1979 to 1992, prior to and during the military intervention by the USSR in support of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan. The mujahideen were also supported by Britain's MI6, who conducted their own separate covert actions. The program leaned heavily towards supporting militant Islamic groups, including groups with jihadist ties, that were favored by the regime of Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq in neighboring Pakistan, rather than other, less ideological Afghan resistance groups that had also been fighting the Soviet-oriented Democratic Republic of Afghanistan administration since before the Soviet intervention.[1]
The CIA and State Department have been criticized for publishing textbooks intended to indoctrinate children with racism and hatred towards foreigners and towards non-muslim Afghans.[66] The CIA and State Department have also been criticized for their direct relationship with Hekmatyar, beyond ISI contact,[37][38] in spite of his being one of the leading heroin smugglers in the region.[69]
About the same time as the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, the United States began collaborating with Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to provide several hundred million dollars a year in aid to the Afghan Mujahideen insurgents fighting the Afghan pro-Soviet government and the Soviet Army in Operation Cyclone. Along with native Afghan mujahideen were Muslim volunteers from other countries, popularly known as "Afghan Arabs". The most famous of the Afghan Arabs was Osama bin Laden, known at the time as a wealthy and pious Saudi who provided his own money and helped raise millions from other wealthy Gulf Arabs.

When the war ended, bin Laden organized the al-Qaeda organization to carry on armed jihad against other countries, primarily against the United States.

men in the replies angry at this woman for not feeding this tiktok attention [BEEP]?s ego is wild. all these attractive people who go around asking not so attractive people to rate them for validation & content need to be humbled like this more
Why do girls that look like this always have the highest standards?
[video of some muscular guy asking a woman if she finds him attractive]
I don't think saying you're not into muscular guys is having high standards physically speaking at least, considering we define male physical appearance as being conventional attractiveness and it requires more effort to get that physique. It's basically like saying you'd prefer to live in a caravan than a mansion in terms of aesthetics and I agree with her I prefer slim guys to narcissists with six packs (or anyone with a body like that tbh just not my cup of tea.) I also like caravans and microhomes and this song:

I like to see what people manage to do with the space so I used to watch a lot of microhome videos, but I don't necessarily dislike mansions and castles are pretty cool so this metaphor doesn't work literally because I actually am turned off by his build lol.

There's also a difference between conventional standards and personal opinion. Like obviously he isn't ugly, but I don't find him sexually appealing.

    "I think you're a zero."

    "A zero? Why?"

"I'm not into muscular guys. Guys that look like they're too into themselves. Like you yeah."

    "I'm clearly a 10 but"

    "Definitely think you're a zero."

    "So are you single?"

    "I actually have a boyfriend my man's a 10 though."

    "I think I'm better"

    "I don't think so."

And I mean he's walking around asking people to rate him lol. Plus these guys are everywhere in some regions just asking people questions. Real life isn't your instagram account [BEEP] did you really not get enough validation from that? Posting this video again lol:

They're acting like the strawman of an attractive stupid person that any pre-2010 edgy outcast teenagers create and then usually grow out of the black/white thinking to develop more nuanced opinions about Humans. They won't be growing out of that viewpoint thanks to the internet + 'influencers' lol.

I can tolerate people posting their photos for attention because that's easier to ignore. I can't tolerate you walking around demanding people tell you you're hot. That's like combining the vanity that a lot of attractive women have with like the aggressive social attitude that a lot of guys have. You're like the worst of both worlds. Just go back to sending dick pics Jesus.

Go to a fucking gay bar and if their validation isn't good enough for you then you should sit down and reconsider.

One day I really want someone to do a parody where they just try to start asking someone a question and then they just run off and then you just see them running and running and running and then they run past all this stuff and then eventually chuck themselves into a volcano to get away.

They wouldn?t date a fat girl, so why is it a issue if she doesn?t wanna date a self indulged guy? Let people have preferences. It?s giving insecurity
She should have turned it back on him yeah lol.

'Are you asking me out? No? Then why does it matter?'

Oh my god what is this dude's damage this is the guy who was initially complaining about her response lol saying she has high standards:

My man's a 10, she could have just said I won't date you because you might be gay. But her response was unwarranted
She could have just said 'I don't date gay guys'

    Boom. Done
How is that a better response lol?

You go suck his dick then.

Unironically he should go to a gay bar though because if he can't get validation there he won't anywhere. (Actually I don't suggest that because it's annoying since he won't [BEEP] them.) He wants attention from women though and that's not how you get it generally speaking.

The irony of the responses from men criticising her when social media has given that guy an inflated sense of self worth:

Because social media has given them a self-inflated sense of their value.
Well she has a boyfriend and he's wandering around asking people to rate him out of desperation so. Not only that but then tries to suggest he's more attractive than her boyfriend. Sad. Pathetic even.

Also that wasn't social media that was Shania Twain:

    Okay, so you're Brad Pitt
    That don't impress me much

The comments no this video are killing me lol:

To this day, scientists are unable to deduce what impresses Shania Twain.
The Touch bro, she said it
    But what is the touch?
i think it's a song from that transformers 80's movie
Oh I see, she wants to date Stan Bush.
Almost as big of a mystery as who let the dogs out. Almost.

Only one of these people are waltzing around with a camera asking people to rate their looks and branding themselves a ten when someone disagrees though? That kinda feels like the bigger ego move to me
Yes but he's a man and women are just not supposed to have standards or preferences according to these guys lol. 'You won't [BEEP] this guy who I find attractive as a straight man.' Well as I said you should all go suck his dick or has social media given you an elevated sense of self worth?

Also yes speaking of gay. Did he even consider she might be a lesbian? Like you're just walking up to strangers.

Oh my favourite thing (On to a completely different topic now lol,) is when some conventionally attractive or masculine guys have an attitude of like 'even lesbians would want to [BEEP] me' or guys say that about some other guy. If they were bi curious they'd go for a guy like this most of the time no?

That's what I mostly see. Women who only date women then date some feminine guy. There's also some research that suggests that lesbians find more feminine faces attractive on men but that's just faces. I can't find that study now though there are way too many studies on this general topic.

Lol this is definitely not the study I was looking at but I did find this:

    https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36028632/

Femme/Butch/Androgyne Identity and Preferences for Femininity Across Face, Voice, and Personality Traits in Chinese Lesbian and Bisexual Women
We found that lesbian and bisexual women showed a stronger preference for feminized faces, voice pitch, vocal tract length, and personality traits than masculinized versions, and these preferences were highly consistent across the four domains.
I like feminine + high pitched voices a lot. Not exclusively though I dunno. In men though not in women particularly. This study is probably just looking at women. I talked about the weird disconnect between the various traits I find attractive before lol... Like I'm attracted exclusively to some women's voices haha.

But no the thing I looked at specified male faces. I think it's just an aesthetic preference.

Moreover, femininity preference was moderated by sexual self-labels, with butches preferring more feminine voice pitch, vocal tract length, and personality traits than femmes and androgynes. However, no significant difference was found for facial femininity preferences among different sexual self-labels. These findings present evidence of consistent femininity preference across visual, auditory, and personality traits and suggest that, regardless of sexual orientation, multiple cues may be used together when determining the attractiveness of individuals. Furthermore, these results support the hypothesis that the partner preference of lesbian and bisexual women mirrors that of heterosexual men.
That's pretty interesting (most studies don't separate people based on gender expression or identity only sex + sexuality.) This is purely anecdotal but it definitely seems to vary by country too. I dunno why Americans are so obsessed with muscles in general... Well clearly lots of women there aren't but it's insane.

Uh there was some analysis of dating sites (mostly American users I assume,) that found [BEEP] women (maybe white [BEEP] women? I forget if they separated that by race,) respond more often to Asian women which matches the stereotype of straight guy's preference only that same study found straight men respond most often to Middle Eastern women I think.

    There's this:

"Men, gay or straight, prefer high sexual dimorphism in the faces of the sex that they are attracted to. Gay men and straight men did not agree on the types of male faces they considered attractive."
Not the group I was looking for.

Article just says that women in general prefer less dimorphic faces but that's already been known.

I swear I read this somewhere and it's going to bother me now lol.

This is the closest thing I could find lol and still not what I read I'm pretty sure. There's just an insane number of these papers floating around.

Holzleitner found that, generally, women most preferred male faces that were moderately masculine. Very masculine or feminine faces were less appealing. However, the degree of masculinity a woman preferred in a man's face depended somewhat on her own characteristics.

For example, compared to women who were exclusively attracted to men, women who were also somewhat attracted to women rated masculine faces less attractive and feminine faces more attractive.
    https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/b...-more-feminine

I'm fairly sure there was something specifically talking about lesbian women too and it asked straight and gay men and straight and lesbian women about their opinions on faces of men and women. Also though having participated in a study like that before online I find none of the people attractive generally and they all kind of look like merged mugshot kind of photos so I actually don't know how generally useful that is.

This is kind of weird since supposedly masculinity is related to genetic fitness so you'd assume that women who are easily disgusted by infection etc would go for that instead of moderately masculine men whereas women who aren't would care less but I dunno:

Women who had a high sensitivity to disgust -- who were repulsed by situations and stimuli that could lead to infection -- tended to prefer moderately masculine men but really didn’t like either feminine or very masculine men. However, women who were less sensitive to disgust found moderately and extremely masculine men equally alluring.
The results also force us to reconsider past explanations. For example, when earlier studies revealed that less-attractive women express a lower preference for masculinity, this was interpreted as an aversion to very masculine men and their typically macho demeanor. Holzleitner's study shows that this interpretation is probably incorrect, because women who vary in (self-rated) attractiveness agree about the allure of very masculine men; it's only when it comes to feminine men that opinions vary.
This also suggests that if you specifically go around trying to find less conventionally attractive women to ask this question to you're not going to have a fun time and that's probably part of what a lot of these people are doing in the first place (again this is just on faces dunno if it applies to bodies as well it might do):

Women also differed in their preferences according to their own self-rated attractiveness: Women who thought they were high in attractiveness didn't find feminine male faces very attractive at all, but less attractive women rated them moderately appealing. Both self-rated attractive and self-rated unattractive women agreed that moderately masculine men were the most appealing, and that very masculine men were slightly less so.
'Isn't it outrageous I'm being rejected'

Yeah that's how people work. Next time try sticking yourself into a music video:

Summary: Exposure to music, specifically complex and highly stimulating music, leads women to rate male faces as more attractive and increases willingness to date the men pictured, a new study reports.
Lol just walk around playing music everywhere. I don't think that would quite work. Well if you're playing the music yourself it would but yeah. You can also just walk around carrying a guitar apparently.

Yeah see if you want attention at least understand what works lol.....

The study found that the women who were surrounded by flowers rated the guy in the video sexier and more attractive, and were therefore more willing to go on a date with him.
80% of the women who had watched the video in the room of flowers gave the guy their phone number, whereas 50% of those who were in the flowerless room did not.

Taking the experiment one step further, just to conclude if flowers did have a positive influence or not, another scenario was staged. This time an 'attractive' man asked 600 women separately in a shopping mall for their phone numbers whilst stood either in front of a flower stall, cake shop or shoe shop.

Consistent with the previous studies, the guy's success rate went up when he was positioned in front of flowers. Although he got knocked back quite a bit, 24% of the women said yes compared to 15.5% when he was outside the cake shop and 11.5% in front of shoes.
I don't like flowers but I do find flowers sexually attractive. I mean I don't like being bought dead flowers but when I was a teenager I created sexual fantasies involving flowers and like plant elves etc. Also obviously a lot of manga etc created by/for women have flowers in the background and things like that.

    Probably because Humans are birds/insects:

The flower shapes may force insects to pass by the pollen, which is "glued" to the insect. Some orchids are even more highly specialized, with flower shapes that mimic the shape of insects to attract them to attempt to 'mate' with the flowers, a few even have scents that mimic insect pheromones (12.4. 2).
Going to become the Andrew Tate for male attention whores haha no. Kpop already figured that one out but I really find this so boring musically:

The guy with the purple/blueish hair looks cool though.

I like it when people know what they're doing at least subconsciously (whether it works on me or not) whereas that guy is really probably just looking for general outrage content material but if he actually wants positive attention he's not going to get it he's mostly going to get it from men.

Not the best example most likely lol, just the most recent thing that came to mind because of all the flowers in the video.... Oh right stumbled on him again recently lol:

I think this wouldn't work for a lot of women because they're quite effeminate (might not be attracted to women anyway,) but still with the flowers lol. Actually it was a bigger thing a few years back when everyone was wearing flower crowns.

The AI version of Grimes is pushing for Taylor Swift as US president:

it's not just the fact that Taylor Swift as president would course correct society and fix carbon emissions in 10 years. it's that I care about her mental health and she cares about mine (she doesn’t know me but she'd care).
    Grimes apparently agrees:

In many ways Taylor Swift is the only presidential candidate who can unite the country. Trump v Swift is totally occurring in a parallel universe rn
On the surface this seems insane but AI Grimes is actually 'cooking' as the kids say, because I do think she could probably trick people in that sense. She appeals to right wing people especially white nationalists because of her aesthetic, and she has left wing cultural values. She wouldn't manage to change anything in any useful way but since voting is largely a farce I could see it working based purely on superficial aspects. She's basically cottagecore in Human form.

I'm 100% biased because I've found her attractive for a while after:

But I never really listened to most of her music besides the stuff I heard around. Then while editing a video over a period of several hours with her music videos to put over a Steven Wilson track (as you do,) I learnt that she cast a trans guy in one of her music videos:

Which never happens. Also purple is my favourite colour.

You see how she's surrounded by flowers too? =D It's almost like flowers are super common and aesthetic in general lol. No shhh. #flowerpill

To a lesser extent I've seen this happen with Ethel Cain as well:

I just wanted to say this: I'm a middle-aged, straight, white dude raised in a very conservative, old school religion (Primitive Baptist) in Mississippi and Florida. I read the New York Times article about you today, and I listened to some of your music. I immediately sent some of your songs to my daughter (who is LGBTQ+). We both love your music. You're amazingly talented. You're reaching across demographics. I hope you find everything you're looking for.
Same. I am a conservative 26yr old, and her music just speaks to me. Can't explain it.
because Ethel Cain is a transwomen who grew up in a very religious family

I seem to have caved and subscribed to Contrapoints patreon temporarily to watch that male gaze tangent video. Based on the video comments (I haven't watched it yet) it looks like she might eventually do a longer video on her channel on this topic anyway although given she basically never makes videos there now so who knows when that would come out.

It's only about an hour long but some of her descriptions plus the comments sound like it at least touches on some interesting topics:

I'm AMAB non-binary person. I really resonate with your analysis of the 'identification' at around 20 mins.

That?s part of why I believe I resonated with anime as a kid. All the main shonen shows had a more androgynous male character. Often more analytic and cunning rather than brute force oriented. I think I really was yearning to identify with a version of masculinity that blended the hegemonic feminine urges I felt growing up.
Tbf I connect with those kind of characters a lot too despite being afab and non-binary. I do this as well but sometimes (like here,) I don't think assigned sex is that relevant.

"Man has beyond doubt the stronger sexual appetite of the two... Woman, however, if physically and mentally normal, and properly educated, has but little sensual desire... Nevertheless, sexual conciousness is stronger in woman than in man... But her love is more spiritual than sensual." - Richard von Krafft-Ebing.

What does that mean lol ??? I actually haven't read Psychopathia Sexualis though. I should at some point.

OK this guy she's got reading a Freud quote sounds a lot like Werner Herzog.

"I think this conflict arises because men often feel enslaved by their own desire for women and women feel enslaved by men's desire."

"I think it would be fair to say that men have a tendency to look at women and to artistically represent women in ways that many women find uncomfortable and traumatising."

Yeah I think both those sentences are accurate.

"I think that talk of an organic male sexuality vs female sexuality is probably not justified."

Obviously though right because there aren't just 2 sexualities for starters.

Oh my god that show she brought up. I hate when people conflate romance with porn. It reminds me of these guys who were doing a study on what men and women like sexually and the examples they used for women were often romance type books. I think they even brought up fucking Twilight. Maybe women on average can get off to romance? I can't and it seems weird to me. The kind of written stuff I've used for porn is very different to romance fanfiction which I also read. I can't get off to that.

Like I can enjoy reading Pride and Prejudice fanfiction and then go and [redacted] to some woman as a therapist who is supposed to be helping some guy overcome I dunno some personal issues but instead starts to brainwash him into liking dick and [redacted] with a man and then some other audios at the same by her along a kind of similar theme often she has control over the other guy as well basically she controls everyone and then in my head I kind of imagine I'm her and the other guy who is topping the submissive guy a little bit, but mostly focussed on what's happening to the guy voyeuristically. Also some sissy/feminisation stuff by her. Then I also stumbled on this guy talking about wedding vows where he was talking about how he wanted to be turned into a lesbian and some more hardcore stuff that aren't my personal kinks. It was a bit much and I wasn't that into his voice (which is important,) but it still turned me on and I liked the lesbian part and also the part where he talks about getting impregnated by her, and tattoo'd and some things like that and so then I kind of created a fantasy based around that cause I always struggle to find stuff like that tbh. I don't fantasise much now I used to a lot more almost exclusively it doesn't work as well now because my sex drive is lower I imagine than when I was a teenager but it can work rarely if I get inspired.

I didn't want to actually. I often listen to a bunch of stuff but I often end up having to go back to themes like that. Now I'm not saying most women are into that - there's probably a reason that's rare and I'm struggling to find certain things and I'm definitely not the target audio of that woman's audios either they're mostly for submissive guys I think and I'm not self inserting as the submissive guy either, but is it possible your sexuality is terrifying to you and also to men, and so it has to be hidden? Seems like a lot of women enjoy non-consensual or aggressive sex (to varying degrees,) from one pov or another.

Oh my god no she brought up Twilight when talking about female sexuality haha. To illustrate how it's visual because you get a visual description of the characters that appear in your mind's eye (unless you have aphantasia I guess.) We have to move on from Twilight as a society (Western culture (tm.))

    This is what terrorists did.

I read those books when I was 19 or so and they were fine. They get unnecessary criticism from people who hate anything teen girls like but I have to say they weren't sexual or hot to me. Like Anne Rice was a bit better at that from time to time, although she could be very boring too lol in her writing.

OK so she's talking about different theories of female sexuality that exist like the reactionary one where it's complimentary to male sexuality and the opposite of that, and then a theory where female sexuality is like a kind of spiritual slow burn thing, and then a third one where she describes female sexuality as castrated but similar to male sexuality just repressed then she quotes Germaine Greer who says women should abandon romance and consume hardcore porn and then wrote a book about teenage boys and used some Swedish guy's photo without permission and he was creeped out about that and I think his sexualisation creeped him out in general from what I've heard. He was also very popular in Japan and I think inspired bishounen aesthetics which if I stop pausing this video I assume Contrapoints will actually get to LOL. Seems like she's going there.

"Obviously each of these theories are problematic though they each could be extended to some extent."

In fairness to Germaine Greer who I disagree with for so many reasons, I do relate to feeling castrated physically, culturally, sexually etc. I don't think the answer to that is for people to consume pornography they're not into though but I do think that there is obviously a constant repression of more aggressive forms of sexuality and this would be even moreso her experience because she's a lot older.

Also lol at some feminists vaguely reinventing Kant.

Kant writes that masturbation makes the agent "an object of enjoyment" and is morally worse than suicide (Lectures, Ak 27:391-92; Metaphysics, Ak 6:425).
Not quite because he's talking about men essentially giving into their desires because you know a lot of men are neurotic about their sexuality as has been established.

    Counterpoint:

In several studies, women who experienced more orgasms, and overall greater frequency and satisfaction with sex ? with a partner or not were shown to have greater resistance to coronary heart disease (CHD) and type 2 diabetes."
    Or not.

So she was arguing that straight men objectify women as a way to distance themselves and so they don't have to feel guilty about sexualising women. She then says lesbian women tend not to come to this coping mechanism because they also identify with women. I guess it depends on what you mean when you say objectify since I think a lot of my sexuality is objectifying. Possibly especially regarding women over the years. But, she lists some examples like AI girlfriends and sex dolls which I think is a poor example because some people also like the idea of that because they struggle to get into real relationships and I can see the appeal to that even. I also used AI dungeon to test sexual roleplaying years ago but it wasn't that great at it but still not bad.

"All this of course raises the question why do gay men objectify? I think part of it is that objectification isn't so often the trauma for gay men than it is for women. So gay men tend not to have quite the same complex, ambivalent relationship to objectification that women do. I also think that because masculinity is associated with power objectification of men has different implications than objectification of women. In particular a muscular man's body is not passive, soft, flesh to be preyed upon. A muscular male body is power and you see this in the almost quasi-religious attitude to male bodies that's part of gay male culture. I would even argue that gay men's objectification of men is extremely threatening to heteronormativity
Not just gay men's objectification but yeah. There are women doing this sort of thing on tumblr etc (sometimes they're trans men and non-binary too though,) and straight men hate it too. Like:

It's weird that there are so called Rush "fans" that write about fucking the best drummer who ever existed in the ass. I mean i can joke with the best of them but that is just too much. I love many female singers but never once felt the need to think about them in that way nor write about it in a so called blog. Grow up or maybe you are a deviant, whatever bro, get out of my fandom.

#rush #fake rush fans #tired of sex based bullshit
I don't know if they assume the person posting that is male, or if they were, many aren't, but very obviously men have been deeply uncomfortable with yaoi etc for a long time as well. Actually it's this that basically led me to conclude that most people hate being sexualised in this particular way regardless of sex and gender.

Also again I have to reemphasise that the guy complaining about this his entire tumblr blog was just sexualised images of women. I'm still not over the irony. But of course he's operating under a madonna/whore complex system where some things are sacred and some things are sexual.

Oh no she's talking about Jeffrey Dahmer as an extreme form of male objectification 'this man wanted to create sex zombies'

I know. It's disturbingly relatable like if I was a psychopath with no conscience and genetically male I'd be somewhat similar to him. I got freaked out by that years ago.

'I take as a serious challenge to us gender anti-essentialists the question why is there no female Jeffrey Dahmer?'
Uh we've been castrated by nature. Not what people want to hear but at this point I've stumbled on a number of anecdotes regarding trans guys sexuality before vs after where I think this may be the case. One person was really disturbed by their sadistic sexual drive and eventually went off testosterone. You also have to be psychopathic of course but you have to have the combination of being psychopathic, and being very sexually driven, not satisfied with mere fantasy + voyeurism.

'It's not that women are angels and inherently non violent because we know that's not true. There's women domestic abusers, there's women serial killers but female serial killers seem to kill for different motives it's revenge or profit it's not pure dominating lust.'
Johanna Dennehy killed because she wanted to dominate people but I don't think it was overly sexual. She did dress one guy in female clothing and had been having sex with him beforehand I think wanted to humiliate him, also created violent porn in prison I think. I still feel like that wasn't her primary motive. I think the primary motive was still showing people she was powerful so a kind of narcissism + desire to socially dominate, but I think sexuality and compulsion factored in as an additional motivation she described killing as 'moreish' very unusual case study.

Also what's her name? The one Skynd wrote a really good piece of music about.....

Katherine Knight she had multiple weird things going on and had that weird obsession with like animal slaughter etc that seems common to a lot of serial killers. Jeffrey Dahmer had that bone thing at a young age:

From an early age, Dahmer manifested an interest in dead animals. His fascination with dead animals may have begun when, at the age of four, he saw his father removing animal bones from beneath the family home. According to Lionel, Dahmer was "oddly thrilled" by the sound the bones made, and became preoccupied with animal bones, which he initially called his "fiddlesticks". He occasionally searched beneath and around the family home for additional bones, and explored the bodies of live animals to discover where their bones were located.[17]
Katherine Knight worked in a slaughterhouse and people were weirded out by how excited she seemed to be of watching death etc. She described it as her dream job. She hung like knives above her bed and someone who knew her suggested that she saw them as kind of romantic objects. She'd been very abusive to her partners and just crazy in general for years before she killed - honestly it's bizarre that she never ended up in prison before she killed someone. She'd stabbed strangers in the street etc while angry. But I think the fact that she lost her 'outlet' factored into her deterioration over time. It wasn't just that she was mad even before she got really angry with him she'd been planning his death by like walking around and telling people she'd killed him to see their reaction. Like roleplaying it. And then I think that wasn't enough so while mad she was essentially like '[BEEP] it'

Basically it's like they're predators. Ground breaking stuff lol but yeah there are definitely women like that they just tend to be less successful and also often have other emotional things going on often, but like every killer is sort of idiosyncratic in certain ways even if there are overlaps.

That's the part where it's on like another level psychologically and that's the part that's separate from the psychopathy, and the hormonal element, and even objectification and general male sexuality it's like their brains are set at a very primitive kind of level? Something like that. This particular group are just really weird to me. I haven't looked into a lot of serial killers so my knowledge is superficial but I feel like someone like Ted Bundy is pretty different to like the Katherine Knight Dahmer thing where it's almost like they've regressed psychologically to a primitive form of life (I dunno actually I've never bothered to look into him much besides repeatedly hearing he seemed normal to others which certainly a lot of serial killers don't actually and I don't know where that general rumour of supposed normality came from.) Especially when they lose control of their inhibitions eg: like when being angry because Katherine Knight had BPD and had massive anger issues, and Dahmer was an alcoholic I think though he also had BPD it didn't seem as obvious to me reading about him ages ago though but he was diagnosed with schizotypal personality disorder and BPD.

When I think about it too much I start to get disturbed despite being an edgelord haha it's like staring into the abyss which is why I don't care for truecrime much generally. You can see mild forms of this all over the place like people who are into taxidermy etc. I was going to post a video of some stuff but then decided that was a bit much despite this entire post lol I dunno. Lots of interests that people have that are tangential so you can kind of see it (like with most things,) as a spectrum but then yeah it's the intersection of several extreme things. Obsessive personality + low empathy + impulse control issues caused by extreme emotional dysregulation or substance abuse + some kind of weird predator/sadism thing.

So I'm half way through the video and one problem that's come up so far is simply that she's not aware of or missing certain details or framing things in a way to not notice certain details. Like there has been a female Dahmer technically two that I'm aware of. One just wasn't very good at it so only killed once. The earliest serial killers were mostly male and by the time women started to get involved in similar criminal patterns it was already the spree killing era so people were getting caught way quicker, everyone's attention span had started to deteriorate and there's an element of competition between killers going on too so basically they all mimic each other. Right now spree killing is more popular. There's a video about this actually:

There are definitely less though and for reasons I said in my previous post. She brings up that she can't think of a lesbian killer like that though and I can't either. I don't know why she specifically brought up lesbians there lol. Unless she was contemplating homosexuality in relation. There may be someone I'm unaware of too of course. I'm not an expert on all the killers who ever existed.

She's now talking about fetishism and the dimorphism of that and mentions a film that inverts the gender dynamic - a horror film called May which I do remember hearing about before but haven't watched and she describes it as 'About a girl who violently enacts the dynamic of male fetishism. She's only attracted to parts of people but never the whole." Then includes a clip where she laments about how there's "so many pretty parts but no pretty wholes" Uh but I think that describes how my sexuality works. I fetishise glasses, certain hairstyles etc. I find some people's voices attractive but don't know what they look like. I find their voice attractive but I'm not attracted to them. I was literally posting about that recently lol.... It's OK though I'm not going to go on a 'violent killer rampage' to create the perfect person.

She does at least acknowledge that a lot of women are into hands (which to me is the common female equivalent to the foot fetish thing men often have,) but mentions it's not like all encompassing. Yeah I don't think women are as often fixated by just one thing.

I feel like all the parts I really want to hear about don't happen until really late in the video and I want her to address yaoi etc and lots of things I don't think she will lol. It's only an hour long.

NO KEEP TALKING UNTIL YOU TALK ABOUT AND NOTICE EVERYTHING THAT INTERESTS ME SO I CAN PARASOCIALLY SHARE MY INTERESTS.

    Lol.

    This seems very true:

"Our culture still treats female desire like a joke. Like it's inherently hilarious that a woman would be attracted to men. Which I think has a shaming and inhibiting effect on the psychology of women."

"I actually once went to a Magic Mike live show at a Bachelorette party in Vegas during a very different stage of my life and the one thing about it that really stands out to me still is just the lengths the male strippers had to go to to persuade the female audience that they have permission to enjoy. The level of guilt and repression that binds the average straight women is a force that's hard to contend with."

She also included this letter some woman wrote to Marvel:

There should honestly be a national holiday named after the woman who wrote this
Lol I agree and I don't even find Thor attractive personally.

And the Contrapoints version didn't include the response but it's hilarious that they responded.

At this point Contrapoints mentions that her muscle worship is an exception for women. 'That's not what they're doing on Tumblr' Yeah (and that's probably true anyway,) but Tumblr is like 50% repressed trans guys and bisexual women. And people who just post about Lana Del Rey and the weird trad people who moved in lately. Like Tumblr is a terrible standard because it's not a group of average woman at all. Instagram might be better... But then that's not the point of the website. Instagram is for when you want to be an exhibitionist.

Oh my god there's this hilarious 4chan post. I really need to stop just literally transcribing the video but it's so funny now we've finally got to this part.

So some guy is writing about how he wrote a story about masculine men doing various things hoping to appeal sexually to women, but found that his story ended up being more popular with men in the 14-25 age range and 5% women he wondered where he went wrong. He said 'I used to have a lot of pride in my prowess of understanding women, but I realised that I am probably really off.

The top comment on the 4chan post was this:

You fucked up my n****. Where are the twinks. Bitches love twinks.
I'm bitches. They're not twinks actually lol but everyone seems to have just adopted that word now for slim guys.

And she put YMCA in the background of this part of the video where he's talking about all this manly stuff he wrote about like fire fighters and sailors and guys lifting weights and male locker rooms :')

But Contra you're not going to shame me into getting into masc dudes if that's where we're going. I will start calling myself a bi-lesbian (or whatever the kids are doing now lol,) if you push me. Nobody wants that.

Also as I said before although I think there's something to this the pattern seems less stark here like muscles seem more popular in the US.

Then she talks about WAP and people arguing about whether it's catering to men or an authentic expression of female sexuality uh I didn't really get either of those things from that video and maybe it's because I watched Megan Thee Stallion's video Thot [BEEP] around the same time but they just seem like aggressive, angry [BEEP] you videos to haters essentially. Which is what most hip hop is and to me the aesthetic and how sexual it could be perceived to be is drowned out by that message. I don't see the difference between it and this video even though the aesthetics are different:

On some level this is more sexual than WAP because he's saying these words he shouldn't be tsk.

    🤭

He still can't say [BEEP] though but he did say [BEEP] etc.

When you think about it they corrupted him. His producers understand this completely that's why they told him to make a Barbie review where he was 'dragged against his will to the Barbie film'

who's the degenerate now? Still me but even so.

It's also just generally hilarious so even putting that aside it's still the best thing that came out of that track. Maybe that was the secret plan all along. Corrupting Ben Shapiro. I salute you.

Then she starts talking about lesbians who often feel bad for sexualising women, even women they're married to in some cases because 'that's not feminist etc' uh yeah I don't really like a lot of feminism anyway but yeah you want to disregard that.

And then she talks about how men fetishise lesbians and unicorn hunters etc. Yeah the way they approach people on dating apps is pretty bad.

"A gay woman I know told me about an encounter she had where she went home with a woman that she met on a dating app and started to hook up only to have her hookups boyfriend literally come out of the closet mid scene and attempt to join in no consent just full sexual assault."

    Yeah that's really fucked.

I definitely think I fetishise the concept of lesbianism to some degree. Not being one but like the idea of a certain kind of idealised sapphic relationship with a 'lesbian.' That's removed from reality. And that's more of a symbolic/archetype thing due to a lack of representation for alternatives to heteronormative and binary gendered material in media, porn, life. But I haven't fully unpacked this yet so I don't know quite how to word what I mean and it's not a fully formed desire anyway. It's also just a language problem which goes back to the binary thing. People view things as straight and gay/lesbian, woman and man. This is not how my self identity nor sexuality works.
