[Otherside]

Never thought to try it before or nought much into it. But will say that almost overnight, have gone from having giant hive weals covering my arms, legs, back and hips, to only having a couple of tiny hive spots on my legs after doing acupuncture yesterday.

And trialling multiple antihistamines hadnt helped much (tried Fexofendaine - got rid of the itching but hives still there. Chlorophenamine - just makes me sleepy. Cetirizine - not much use). Prednisolone steroids would get rid of then quickly but can't be on that for more than a week, and when that eventually wore off, back came the hives. Same with Elocon cream, bur can't use that for more than a few weeks.

May this lack of hives continue. Perhaps the acupuncture guy was right and I do in fact, have fire in my blood.

If anything, despite feeling a bit like a human pincushion, it was surprisingly relaxing. Didn't really hurt either tbh, could barely feel the needles.

(It does suck a bit though that I have to avoid spicy food though. I made feta pasta last night and it was a bit of a shame that I couldn't add chilli flakes to it. It is nice, but just isn't the same without them.)

I think being amab provides you with more opportunities to have like hobbies. You were allowed to explore more things as a kid generaly than like an afab kid. Some sort of like dating unfair advantage. If you date guys as a trans woman you'll be like 'oh yeah I read that comic' and they'll be like wow you read? I'm going to have to disagree here when it comes to the previous two generations before then maybe. I think most afab people growing up during and after the 90s were not pushed in a feminine direction and if anything were subtly or not so subtly encouraged to be tomboys (but not too butch obviously or then you'd be 'ugly.') It's difficult too because obviously the normal advice/reaction from someone with a secure attatchment would be 'if you feel like that you must dislike them/not like them very much.' But no, I can tell the difference though it can be hard when I'm stressed. I have issues with my dad because we're out of sync in this way and he takes things very personally, moreso than my friend.


Also they all want him to be a trans woman, he's said he's not a trans woman, perhaps he will one day change his mind but he has not. Please cope.


He's also single now and so this is purely guess work based on myself and how I've seen other people who are genderfluid discuss their gender... He might feel even less like a woman outside that context. Eg:

It used to and that year and around 2005 time was good in that sense but because of the age I was at the time a lot of important music to me came out around that time or I discovered it then.


The music industry is very different now as is the process of discovering new music and what's popular etc so it's an entirely different landscape. There was a lot more mainstream rock music back then too which I personally liked.

Valid point. It does kind of suck that you can't filter the internet by nationality when you want, but there's a lot of potential support in favour of what you want too.

I literally used to be "transgender" through most of my teens and early 20s. This is maybe 20 years ago now. I even used to go to work at a warehouse dressed like a girl for a little while and if I had had the money and access to hormones at that time I would have made the worst mistake of my life because it very much is a fad and a psychological disorder caused by unresolved childhood and sexual neuroses and it is not healthy to indulge it in oneself, so I definitely won't be indulging it in others, thank you very much.

My (20F) partner (21 AMAB) recently came out to me as genderfluid. I'm bisexual so I emphasized to them that I don't mind this change in their appearance, but they have been behaving in ways that make me extremely uncomfortable and I don't know how to express myself without coming across as transphobic. The personality I met my partner with was loud, excitable, and not afraid to speak their mind. When my partner is feeling feminine, however, she seems to completely change her personality. She acts shy and timid around our friends and only speaks when spoken to, and her stutter becomes more severe. She twirls her hair and speaks in more of a whispered tone (she especially does this when speaking to our male friends). Since she really loves wearing cropped sweaters and skirts, this combination feels like a caricature of a young teenage girl and it makes me feel angry. This has also caused issues in our sex life because she tries to bring this very anime-like submissive role into bed as well, and I cannot feel sexually attracted to her if every time I look at her I see a teenage girl! The fact she is looking into training bras to feel "more like a girl" is also really not helping my situation. I hate to say it, but their behavior when they feel fem feels incredibly sexist to me. It feels like a caricature of girls straight out of a Japanese cartoon, which is rooted in misogyny. I don't know what to do. Should I express myself? How do I do this without invalidating their entire identity?

It's definitely not for everyone. I think it tends to appeal more to straight guys. I think she might want to unpack why it's making her feel angry more though. After reading your response, I realized that I may just be missing my partner's old personality. I think that her changes aren't my issue, but more so that I feel she places expectations on me to match hers. For example, she has mentioned before that when she is feeling feminine she views me "more like a boyfriend," in the sense that she wants me to take a masculine role. I have dated trans women before so I have been told that being put in the feminine side in a heteronormative relationship can help with dysphoria. I'm going to have a talk with her and focus on how I support her change, but I don't want her to treat me any different because I am not trans. So I've always wrestled with this aspect of fully embracing my bisexuality. There are many spectrums and roles a male (and female) can have in the bisexual space.
